As the war in the Balkans begins heating up, far away in Asia, the Shiangqing Tianguo, a millennial group of religious fanatics declares war on the Qing and immediately launches a surprise assault on the western provinces of the Empire.
Chinese Civil War
On July 28, martial law in the United States ends and General MacArthur steps down. Frank Knox, the former Democratic Vice President, takes over the Presidency. Immediate discussions begin over the fate of New England. Edward wants it to remain in the Entente, but in his first speech upon assuming the Presidency, Knox issues an open invitation to begin the process of reintegrating the region back into the United States. Already bogged down in a major war overseas, Edward knows he would not have the negotiating leverage he needs to maintain control of the region against the will of the population. On the other hand, the American landscape lies in ruins after the war and the American economy lies in shambles. A delegation of Canadian and New England leaders are sent to Washington D.C. to discuss the terms of peaceful reintegration.
Eventually, the Canadians and the Americans strike a deal. America will give up its claim to the land taken from the CSA by Canada during the war and recognize those territories as Canadian henceforward. In return, Canada will do everything it can to support and facilitate the return of New England to the United States.
On August 28, Egypt joins the Grand Entente. With South Africa, Nationalist France, Libya, and now Egypt, the Grand Entente is in a position to challenge Mittelafrika’s dominance in Africa.
By September, a multinational force consisting of Japanese, Fengtien Republicans, Australians, and Centroamericans lands in Albania to guard the tiny country from Serbian aggression. In the skies the airforce of the Grand Entente engage the fighters of Serbia and Iron Guard Romania while meanwhile the Ottoman Empire loses control of Istanbul as the Romanian army enters the ancient capital.
War in the Balkans
As the Sultan flees into the Anatolian peninsula, Edward continues to reach out to Otto I to urge the Dual Monarchy to enter to the war. Finally, on October 7th, Edward meet with diplomatic success. Promising to surrender the territory of the Serbia and Iron Guard Romania to the stewardship of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after the war, Edward convinced Emperor Otto I to bring the Dual Monarchy and its various puppet states into the Grand Entente. With this diplomatic stroke, the course of the war is changed.
Austria joins the Grand Entente
By end of November, the Serbian Empire is on the defensive and it appears that it will be only be a matter of time before the Grand Entente takes complete control of the Balkans.
War in the Balkans continued...
On November 28, 1937, New England rejoins the Union, as per the deal struck between the Canadians and the United States two months before.
New England rejoined the US.
In Spain, the CNT-FAI faction has taken control of the majority of the country while in Asia, the Qing government struggles to hold on to the countryside as the rebel faction gains increasing momentum with each passing day.

Several weeks later, Spain is annexed and the Syndicalist victory in the Iberian peninsula is virtually guaranteed.
