USCA War 1860-1870
Welcome back! If you've come for questionable warmongering and pointless releases, than you've come to the right place. In this action packed issue, you'll see numerous amazing sights, not limited to the following:
- The AI peacing out of an impossibly easy war!

My first course of action is to fortify my borders, which is mainly a symbolic gesture, as Mexico poses no threat and Colombia is firmly in my sphere. We finish researching Iron Muzzle-Loaded Artillery on May of 1860, and we switch our focus to Breech-Loaded Rifles. But, as we sit idly by waiting for our BB to cool down, some other powers are spending theirs like it's going out of style.
To the south, Brazil is blobbing into Chile quite nicely, putting them down to a OPM. Sadly, the AI seems fairly incompetent at finishing the job, as they fail to annex them in the several reoccurring wars.
To the North, Russia sells Alaska to the US, despite the former never actually fighting the Brits, and the latter having no way to access the new territory. Russia, apparently suffering from Seller's remorse, declares war on the US for Alaska a couple of months later.
To our east, the French diploannex Madagascar, while the Hapsburgs decide that Hedjaz would make a nice vacation resort.
Going back to the USCA, we've finally burnt off enough BB that we can take a state from someone. Sadly, Spain has too many allies (All of the Great Powers and Secondary powers, more or less) to yank Cuba from, and any expansion into Mexico would leave the map looking very ugly, as their capital is already on my border.
So, choosing the only rational option, I decide to invade Texas.
I also moved my NF from Soldiers in Guatemala to craftsmen in Honduras. But you don't want to hear about that, right?
I call in my allies, Japan and the newly christened "Democracy Pact" (USCA, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador). All respond except Colombia, which is understandable considering that they have no actual army to speak of.
As I begin to rebuild my fleet of transport ships, I see a joint Sino-Venezuelan attack on Alaska, which apparently surprises a brigade of Turks that were hiding out in Alaska. Meanwhile, my transport fleet finishes, and I send over my first batch of 30k troops to occupy Texas.
We fan out and begin to occupy Texas. Meanwhile, Japan sails a fleet all the way into the gulf, and decide that Hati would be a nice place to spread their tentacles to. I load up another 30k into the transport ships, and I begin to sail them up the coast to land in Washington D.C. I spot the Japanese fleet under attack by a smaller US fleet, and I move in to help. Big mistake.
As it turns out, the US, unlike us, had actually been researching naval technologies. Their commerce raiders easily ripped through Japan and I, leaving them with nothing, and my fleet retreating towards DC in a desperate attempt to drop the troops off before they died. I failed, giving me a total loss of 30k men and 10 transport ships. I begin to rebuild, finishing Breech-Loaded Rifles [Moving to Empiricism] and switching out my Reactionaries with Conservatives around the same time as in Peace. Russia peaces out with the US, and I largely ignore this, as theirs was a low key war, consisting only of Russia occupying an Alaskan province, and the US occupying Oregon. Turns out that this was my second mistake.
The US brings down a Megastack of 40k troops, supported by a smaller stack of 18k, to quell the troops I had in Texas. They score an easy victory, smashing my divided troops into itty bitty pieces. I retreat, regroup, and launch a counterattack, which goes about as well as you would expect
Yeah, I lost again. I send my remaining forces in the area to hide in the CSA (which had generously given me military access not much earlier.), and both sides sees their allies peace out. Rebuilding my transport fleet, I begin to shuttle my entire army to Louisiana, determined to not underestimate the US anymore. My armies in position, I begin the Grand Offensive.
Its a smashing success, and I begin to chase down their army, which eventually accumulates into the battle of Houston, which turns out to be the battered and surrounded US Army's last stand
......
We win in a battle which sees the entire US Army either captured or killed. The CSA and Mexico declare war the second they hear of the news. The occupation game begins, and I send a stack over to the Northeast to prevent the US from forming another army.
While this is going on, the Dutch and Portuguese fight, which eventually ends with Portugal getting the entirety of Bali from The Netherlands. Also, France and the NGF white peace.
We sign the Geneva convention as the event pops, and we begin to get socialists in our upper house. Empiricism and Ideological Thought finish, which greatly increases our overall RP so that we can keep up with the times. Some ancient Mayan artifacts are found for some free prestige, as we continue to ping-pong US brigades in the Northeast. Because of this, I decide to add "Release the Manhattan Commune" to my war goals, along with releasing Liberia as a puppet.
The war finally ends on July 9th, 1868, which sees both Mexico and the CSA peace out against a near fully occupied US with absolutely no army to speak of.

The rest of our years are spent researching and burning BB, along with laughing at the US, which suffers both another war declaration from Russia, and a massive Jacobin rebellion.
Reactions
Well, this sure was a fun game. The isolated Massachusetts leaves it open to seceding as New England, or for the UK to annex it. Furthermore, Texas gives me a large opening into the US's soft underbelly, with all of its juicy plain states in easy reach.
Furthermore, researching Empiricism and Ideological Thought made a huge difference, as you can see from the handy dandy pictures provided above and below. That's a ten point difference made in ten years!
