Ah such a nice scenario you've got here.

You plan to share MDS-KR at any point?

Also did you edit the AI to not be so stupid?

@ Kaiser Mobius: Thanks, well done with recognizing Franco, I also think this image suits well for fictional authoritarian Cuban leader. It's hard to find suitable resigned generalissimo in modern day. As for Latin America in general, it's not so Red as it might be expected, but situation is still very tense, especially in South America.

It's quite easy. :p

Carribbean Federation is Syndicalist?!?

Oh my gawd, my Parents are Socialist...then again, it would fit, I'd still be born and raised and lived in Syndicalist states all my life...

Thinking about it makes me shudder.

Nice to see that Canada's not alone in the Americas, by the way, is there something wrong with the Cuban IC? 'Cause 2/2 won't maintain that armed forces for too long....

Also, I spy with my little eye Juan Perón having coffee in Puerto Rico :p

The situation with Cuba is especially unusual when you have a maximum IC of 2/2 - but you have 3 IC in Havana alone ...

F***balls! Trujillo looks quite a look like good darned Franco! Nuke Cuba!

Interesting allies you have.... :)

You should probably try to get Mexico into your alliance block as soon as possible to completely encircle Combined Syndicates....

@ Aliasing: This is not a mod that could be released, it's a messy mix of modified scenario data, save game files and ingame changes. As for AI, I'm not skilled enough to modify it, so I hope original MDS 1.6 AI will do fine. But since Fernando Torres was scripting AI for MDS 1.6, I'm sure there won't be any bigger problems.

@ Mr. Santiago: I'm not sure what's with Cuban IC, as Havana has 3 IC and Camaguey has 2 IC, meaning that base IC should be 5. Maybe I missed some event or something when I changed Cuba from centralized socialist economy to more free market system. Anyway, maybe it's better this way to simulate Cuban agricultural oriented industry. Maybe this is more plausible anyway, as there was no socialist industrialization. As for maintaining the army, Cuba has enough of other resources which are then traded to friendly nations for supplies, so there is no problem with that.

Also, you actually recognized coffee-drinking Peron from this original pic? Bravo for that! :D

Peron_tomando_un_caf.jpg

Anyway, this pic should not be associated with Juan Peron in this story. Small minister pic is used for Puerto Rican President Hector Ferreira which resembles real Juan Peron a bit, but is not connected with him in any way. Same story with Franco-looking guy, those characters are only similar to some historical leaders. But I'm planning something really connected with Juan Peron for La Plata, so there must not be confusion with that. ;)

Everyone, thanks for comments!

- OK, time to move to Pacific. Great part of the region is more or less a playground of our Japanese friends, while Hawaii are our client, Aussie-Kiwi marriage is still solid as a rock and Transamur has upgraded itself from pro-Japanese separatist puppet to Russian republican goverment in exile after imperial restoration in Russia, trying to achieve greater role in world politics this way. Biggest troublemaker here is Socialist Republic of Indonesia which lies in the middle of UNA members. Fortunately, Australasians are well prepared for case of conflict. Not much was left of British Empire, but three remaining royal dominions of Canada, Australasia and Hawaii stand without fear of such dangers.

- Since Transamur never had enough human and financial resources to construct efficient republican system, military preserved its leading role after establishment of Russian Republic too. With important port of Vladivostok as a centre and with consequences of Kolchak seeing young republic as his personal admiralty, all Presidents since the birth of republic have been admirals. Big Russians are German friends, but at least we have mini Russia for our friend.

- Japanese Empire is real Pacific powerhouse and beacon of democracy in East Asia. We can be happy to have such an military and industrial giant for good ally. Japanese have their circle of clients which is result of Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere project from the past. This project lost its full meaning after reapproachment with Entente, as both alliances were merged into UNA, but Japan has still a lot of influence over her circle of closest regional allies. Successful democratic evolution, ethnic tensions and Syndicalist danger had brought decentralization of empire and independence of its various parts. Korean Empire was reborn again after Japanese striked bargain with Korean rebels, and Republic of Formosa soon received freedom too, altough very strong Japanese influence over this island state remained until present day. Fengtien Republic slowly evolved from Japanese-protected Manchurian clique to strong and independent Chinese state, struggling to become promoting force of all-Chinese unification. This naturally brings harsh rivalry with other Chinese states, especially with Kuomintang China. Fengtien Republic is now lead by President Kim Jong Il, autocratic charmer of Korean origin which is often criticized by his Japanese godfathers due to his way of rule that is making his country less efficient in defense. It seems that ''Tiger of Fengtien'' is more interested into expanding entertainment, amusement and tourist capacities, then into high-standard Japanese-styled defense and industrial growth. ''Soft dictatorship'' of Kim Jong Il is crawled with corruption, nepotism and clandestine social webs that dominate politics, military, administration and economy, but goverment still enjoys huge popular support due to its ''Bread and Games'' way of rule. Lost of income that is caused by lack of industrial efficiency is successfully compensated by profits from tourism, especially from massive casino empire, so Kim Jong Il is very sure into bright future of his country.

- Japanese military is force that is not to be messed with. Imperial Japanese Navy is dominant naval force in East Asia. Its shock force consists of 9 fleet carriers and 5 light carriers, formed into three strike groups, supported by massive escort of various types of warships and support vessels. Navy is also able to transport large ammount of forces to distant destinations. Navy is mostly used to transport land forces of Imperial Japanese Army, but it has also it's own land forces, called Imperial Japanese Navy Land Forces. Their core is shock force of four marine brigades. Both Army and Navy have their Air Service. There were many attempts to unite those air forces into common branch, but both Army and Navy are fully against such reform. Imperial Japanese Army Air Service of land forces bears tremendous firepower, with sources of this power ranging from strategic bombers to close air support aircraft and strike fighters. Fighter squadrons are able to quickly achieve dominance of the skies, while strong air transport fleet offers airlift services, air supply operations and paradrop missions. Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service has its own force of air superiority fighter wing and three strong naval bomber groups, not counting carrier air groups. Aircraft is provided to Japanese forces and their allies by three Japanese major companies: Tachikawa, Nakajima, Mitsubishi and Kawasaki. Ground forces deploy strong well-armed and well-trained conscripted force, equiped by advanced weaponry such as Type 90 MBT.

Ki-140 Mitsubishi Type 6 strike fighter of Imperial Japanese Army Air Service. It is standard strike fighter of IJA Air Service, while some of Japanese clients ordered few planes to include them in their air forces in the future. Korea will be the first country to receive those fighters from Japan.

Type 74 MBT of Fengtien army. This Japanese produced tank was already moved to strategic reserve by Imperial Japanese Army, while most of Japanese clients still use it as standard main battle tank of their ground forces.

Philippine forces fighting Syndicalist insurgency. Philippine Syndicalist rebel groups are heavily supported by Indonesia, thus being major reason of unstability of Republic of the Philippines. Philippines are ruled by military junta and martial law is in place in most troubled areas of the country.

I really like what you did with Transamur in this story. Hopefully admiral Masorin will one day become ruler of all of Russia instead of just mini-Russia. Out of curiosity, just how powerful is Transamur's navy anyway? If they are ruled by admirals, I would guess they must have at least several decent surface warships.

Great info on both Japan and the ANZAC's as well. The Aussies & Kiwi's have a nice fleet, and I am happy to see that Japan is still a mighty force in the region. :D

Great update. Will Africa be next?

Mini-Russia is cooler than Big Russia. Masorin will pimp out the Germans and let them know who Daddy Russia is!

I like the return of Formosa. Well done, old chap!
