"The world today. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation now presents a summary of the all the important world news today. Reports from CBC correspondents by trans-America short wave radio, and the latest developments as received by the Canada's news room here in Ottawa. Tonight we will be reporting on the latest military events from the United States and abroad via our correspondents in Chicago and Ottawa."
"Good evening Canada, this is Tommy Fourever. Today we will be reporting on the growing crisis in Britain and eastern Canada, as well as the recent Confederate attacks along the east coast."
"In Britain, a voluntary evacuation order has been issues for London and the surrounding regions. As German scientists investigate the effects of the recent fire at the London nuclear facility, is is suspected that high doses of radioactive material was spread over the area. This comes at a extremely bad time for the beleaguered island, which currently is suffering from unrest over the entire southern portion of the island. Disease has become rampant as much of the population lives on what can be described as 'poverty rations'. Malnutrition, starvation, and disease is spreading rampantly and without control."
"To further compound issues on the island, a recent food convoy was attacked by rebel groups and rioters as it left from the port facilities at Dover. The shipment contained three shiploads of food from the German Ukraine, and was destined to be divided up amongst several refugee camps all over the island. The attack, which took place late in the evening last Saturday as it past through Dover's outskirts, overwhelmed the 100 armed German and British escorts. In the ensuing firefight, several of the trucks caught fire, destroying their cargo. The rest of the trucks were looted, and their contents either taken or destroyed. The German government has severely condemned the attacks, and it looking into ways to better safeguard any aid shipments to the island. The Deutsches Rotes Kreuz has stated that it refuses to sent any of its members to the island until the security situation has been fixed."
"In Montreal, violence has sparked at several refugee camps as tensions rise due to increased food shortages. The military has been called to intervene to keep populations segregated as British, French and American refugees began several clashes sparked by each side's government's actions during the war. Several disputes, thought not significant in themselves, fueled the riots which quickly spread to nearby camps. Many Canadians see the increased British refugess, which continue to flood across the Atlantic, as a threat do their nation's security. Several Canadians have protests Canada's open border policy, and call for restrictions on British travel. We contacted the government, and they responded with the following:"
"...it must be remembered that the British people are not to blame for the course of events in which their nation went under. It was the policy of their leaders, and the people are as much refugees from their government as they are from the diseases and poverty which plague their island. It is the wish of the Canadian government to extend open arms to all those who need it, and we will not turn away so many people in their time of need..."
"The Confederate States of America have launched new attacks both diplomatically and militarily. Near Washington, Confederate forces have begun the first of many planned attacks aimed at crippling the United States war effort and cutting them off from any external aid. United States forces have been pushed from Charlottville and Baltimore, which comes as a massive hit on moral as Californian divisions launched attacks of their own along the US west front. On the political front, the CSA has begun moves to strengthen ties between them and the Axis states. Thought not outright attempting to align themselves with the Axis states, they are in a unique positions to benefit from European trade and at the same time appear to remain independent. The horrors of the war are still fresh in American minds, and any attempt to show any support for Germany and its allies would prove to be a political disaster."
**Dammit, reinforcements + supplies is draining a significant portion of my IC. Recent attacks by all parties is straining my armed forces and airforce once again. Texas is on the brink of death, that is a plus and a minus at the same time...**
