Hyper inflation, unemployment and various ploitical groups running amock. This described during the great depression. Many germans had lost faith in democracy and most thought the ideas of the Nazis or the communists too radical. But then a group of people began to rember what life was like under the monarchy, how people had quivred in fear of germanys might and how only through chance did they lose the great war. So they started to encorage the restoration of the Kaiser.
kaiser wilhelm II
The kaiser had been living in exile in Holland since the end of the great war, forced out by the victorious french and british. MAny people began to agree with this idea and soon millions of germans began to demand that the kaiser be reinstated. The weak german government could do little and soon the kaiser came back to germany when he flew into berlin. The german republic abdicated and on august 31, 1930 the Hohenzollern Monarchy came back to germany.
The kaisers first act was to exile political activists who would oppose the new germany, such as many communists and the politician named Adolf Hitler who had attempted to take over germany in his failed beer hall push. The kaiser then began building up the german military, he expanded the navy and broke the unjust laws put on his nation that forbade them from having an airforce or any panzers. The allied powers did not seem to care, thinking that the kaiser could do little to them. They continued to think this even when on january 8th 1936 german soldiers entred the rineland. A protest from france was sent to germany but nothing more was done.

That same day the Kaiser began building over 20 new divisions. He also dismised the notion that he had posesed during the great war that submarines could do little and began building several new submarines. This expansion went on for months as soldiers were added all along germanys western border. The only thing that occured of any real concern was that on july 26th a civil war erupted in spain between the leftist Republic and the Spanish army now under fascist control. kaiser wilhelm did not much care for fascists but he did not want to see spain fall under communist rule, which was very likely, so he decided to send material and voluters to spain to help the nationlists. But despite german and french help the civil war reached a deadlock as neither side could truely gain an advantage. But kaiser wilhelm II had more important things on his mind. German had lost alot of territory after the great war and he began to consult his generals on how to get it back. They saw that one easy target was their northern neighbor. They began deploying their new divisions to the danish border.
