2287 - We are the Blorg:

Prikki all over the Prikkiki TI hissed at these extra-horrific monsters.

Suddenly, I empathize with these genocidal maniacs a little more.

2294 - We NEED more Guns:

Noosh Krekk fondled one of the spears decorating his desk; an ancient weapon, dating to Warlord Raki-Ki. A relic of simpler times he thought, as he looked at the latest sensor data of the... newest enemies, whoever they were. Bone-worshipping monstrosities.

20211022071052_1.jpg

The weakest fleet the enemy possessed was 80k fleet power. Strongest discovered so far was in excess of 200k. And the Prikki were challenging them with only 72k.

Emotions flooded Noosh. Fear of defeat. Hatred of the bone-worshippers. The thoughts reverberated through his mind, he cradled his head, before screaming out the window. "WE NEED MORE GUNS!"

His eyes settled on Kohoma. The volcanic moon. And suddenly, he had an idea. "The... whatevers might be able to match our fleets and asteroid weapon platforms, but could they beat a moon covered in guns?"

He immediately contacted Prim Ozoza, the Voidcraft specialist in charge of Engineering research. "Prim."

"Yes, Grand Arbiter?"

"I want a moon covered in guns and thrusters and armour and all those nice things. Make it."

Prim gulped. "I'll see what I can do. But the cost will be... entire fleets of Alloy."

"I don't care, build me an Attack Moon so that I can obliterate the enemies!"

"We will try."

Prim turned to a holodisplay, and began by comparing the P'Tap battleship and an Asteroid Artillery platform to the size of a moon.

Suddenly, I empathize with these genocidal maniacs a little more.
They have their moments. :)

The problem is that the setting is a "canon" like Stellaris map, but there's no dynamics, no diplomacy; everyone is an enemy to the Prikki. And it just got worse:

20211022081034_1.jpg

It seems that the Prikki have awoken a giant. And the navy is a decade away undergoing an overhaul.

The cruisers are being decommissioned:

While a third battleship type is being added:
20211022074258_1.jpg

The Prikki can win though:
20211022070354_1.jpg

Been waiting for this technology 50 years. Too late now, only 28 years to the Crisis...

20211022085249_1.jpg

While Prim could conceive of the construction needs to build an Attack Moon, the research to actually build on that scale was harder. One side-development was the planetary dockyard; a huge facility around a planet that could maintain and construct ships. The Prikki knew they had to expand their logistics infrastructure before they could support a larger fleet.

2300/1/1 - State of the Prikkiki Ti:

20211022090730_1.jpg

The Glebsig Foundation (purple, left) is rivalling us (the Prikki don't need the influence yet, and realistically, I don't think I have time to start building the Megastructures that use influence...) while there is no interaction with the Kilik (bottom), Caretakers (bottom right) or the UNE (right). At the moment, all Prikki efforts are focused on the Marauders. (red, bottom left)

The Prikki have a fleet totalling just under 90k now, composed of 33 battleships. All in the northern frontier. The enemy Marauders field at least five times that. Minimum - I can only see what I think is half of Marauder territory. However, there is reason to believe the Prikki will win; the economy is being reshaped to support a vastly expanded navy. Four planets already have dockyards under construction, and when those are completed, they add 80 navy capacity and 6 shipyards each. And the navy capacity is before the FP bonuses, so the Prikki economy on a "win or go bust" economic management can grow to over a hundred battleships before the maintenance gets too excessive. And a hundred battleships is enough to win.

In short?

If the Marauders do not attack the Prikki in full force now, the Prikki will destroy them in approximately five years time.

And I don't know if the AI is smart enough to pre-emptively attack the Prikki. They haven't been so far.

The Prikki have survived.

The Prikki have caught up.

Vengeance is coming.

Galaxy, we hardly knew ye...

It's been quite a different run in this respect; the Prikki stand isolated from the galaxy, not even able to engage in diplomacy beyond signing status quo treaties. There's no keeping tabs on who's allied with who as the Prikki are effectively in a cold war with everyone, so it just doesn't matter.

Why would the Prikki care about the alien menaces?

2300 - End of the years of Krekk:
20211022191759_1.jpg

Krekk's leadership was far superior to his replacement candidates, and the Selection Committee were frustrated that he could not do two terms. But, Vipsi Aiyo-Ji - an Admiral, albeit not a Trickster, and therefore not assigned to command a fleet while the Prikki strategy relied on smashing the enemy hard and getting out of battle quickly afterwards - was chosen for his happiness and pop growth benefits.

The other key advantage was having a the former Admiral to oversee the expansion of the navy:
20211022192641_1.jpg

Vipsi also ordered aggressive action against the Marauders. Such was the strength of Prikki artillery, skill of Prikki strike craft pilots and flak gunners, only one missile hit in the first starbase assault:
20211023081437_1.jpg

Subsequent attacks were completely stopped:
20211023082001_1.jpg

20211023082356_1.jpg

And soon, the dockyards were finished on the first stage:
20211023082638_1.jpg

Between the extra naval capacity and the expanding Alloys, the Prikki navy could double to 66 battleships as soon as they had the Alloy.

2302 - Death of the Khan:
20211023081844_1.jpg

During the attacks made by the Prikki, the Khan was assassinated. Prikki everywhere celebrated - probably the rest of the galaxy too - as cohesive leadership collapsed. The Prikki navy continued to strike.

The pressure however, aided the Marauders; it gave them an external enemy to face instead of completely breaking down. A new Khanate rose.
20211023082920_1.jpg

How would the Prikki respond to the new nation?

Why even ask? We all know:

20211023084558_1.jpg

It took just over a week for the Prikki to confirm that the Khanate's military had collapsed due to infighting; the Khanate would never again be this weak on their own; their fleets of 80k+ minimum strength were gone. A single Prikki battleship could sweep the new outposts that had taken the place of the old fortresses, and the Prikki had thirty three battleships. So far.

With their destruction, the Prikkiki Ti could double in size and be the undisputed most powerful non-Fallen Empire nation.

Vengeance was coming.

Amazing work, the assassin should be spared cleansing if not a Prikki.

Reasonable. But equally, would you want to be spared in a galaxy ruled by Prikki?

They are villains after all.
Well, genetic engineering magic 1…2…3…and you are a Prikki!

2205 - Space Storms:
20211023091409_1.jpg

The storm would last for seven years before it ended. The important effect was how it limited recon for the finishing the Khanate and research ahead of the Glebsig war.

2306-2310 Prosecuting the war:
20211023092519_1.jpg

The Reyreos system saw the first contesting of Prikki advances - a small fleet waited to ambush the Prikki fleets as they arrived into the system, closing the large distances that had enabled the Prikki to sweep through effectively unopposed.

20211023134046_1.jpg

It wasn't the only fleet that the Khanate had managed to rebuild either. But with those fleets destroyed, it opened the path to the core systems of the now planet-based Khanate, and in one such system, the Prikki made a discovery:

20211023135811_1.jpg

Sweeping the system's defences did not take long:
20211023140150_1.jpg

Soon, the Prikki had to decide on how exactly they should rid the galaxy of the infestation. Some advocated for mass-wiping outs and enslavement, but ultimately it was decided they would best serve as delicacies for the Prikki.

The remains of former Khanate territory:

2310 - Gateways:
20211024065336_1.jpg

The Prikki knew that they had to reduce travel times to get across their space; while the next war had already been decided, it would be half a decade before the navy would be in position to attack.

But attack they would; Vengeance Was Coming. Next target was the Glebsig, who had dared to declare the Prikki their rivals:

20211024065745_1.jpg

The problem was the Glebsig relied on an alliance with the Chinorr Combine, and the Chinorr had spread far across the galaxy, and only one of their sub-regions bordered the Prikki, along the new southern frontier. The Prikki therefore, would have to fight on three fronts; a north Glebsig front, a south Glebsig front, and the Chinorr front.

2312 - Dark Matter Prototype Reactor:
20211024072220_1.jpg

With the war now over and back into tidying up/infrastructure build up to support the next war, the efforts to develop Dark Matter achieved a prototype reactor.

2316 - Titans and Assault-Prikki:
20211024081656_1.jpg

20211024082100_1.jpg

The Do-Doom (randomly generated name, if anyone wonders) Titan represented the biggest Prikki-built warship to date, with an extreme-range heavy spinal weapon. Not many would be built; they were very bad on firepower/shipyard time, and that limitation meant not many were scheduled for construction.

It wasn't just ships either;
20211024143733_1.jpg

These new Assault-Prikki were horribly dangerous creatures; armoured exo-skeletons, fire-breathing, enhanced strength and able to emit toxic gas. Unfortunately, the already solitary nature of Prikki got exacerbated too, becoming outright unruly. They lacked the intelligence of conventional Super-Prikki however.

Creating less intelligent but stronger sub species, eh? Interesting approach. Never done so myself.

They aren't as intelligent as Super-Prikki, which is a different thing. The Super-Prikki got made much smarter; Erudite and Creative for 22.5% more intelligence. (at least in terms of research ability; intelligence should have lots more effects really)

These Assault-Prikki are as intelligent as pre-genetic engineering Prikki, and swap Solitary for Unruly to represent the exaggeration of Prikki psychological issues that cause the gecko-like reptiles to be solitary.

2317 - Titans Restored:
20211025072420_1.jpg

The three Titans known in Prikki space were quickly restored once the Prikki could build their own; they were needed for the Plan.

2318 - Dark Matter Reactors in field service:
20211025073147_1.jpg

It had been a project that took many years, but at last Dark Matter Reactors were entering service.

2319-2330 Prikki-Glebsig/Chinorr War:
20211025074443_1.jpg

The war would be fought. The Prikki entered the war primarily to crush the foolish Glebsig who dared to rival them, although in reality the Chinorr were the real threat.

20211025080059_1.jpg

A test batch of Destroyers suffered one of the worst defeats in Prikki naval history.

20211025080135_1.jpg

Thankfully, the Battleship squads performed much better.

The decision to restore the Cybrex Alpha Ringworld had been taken several years before, but the work was long and hard. Eventually, quadrillions of Prikki could dwell here.

20211025080959_1.jpg

Ladnah was the first invasion of the war - Prototype Enhanced Warriors led the way, sweeping the Glebsig homeworld.
20211025081132_1.jpg

2320 - End of the Years of Aiyo-Ji:
20211025082051_1.jpg

After his twenty years, Vipsi stood down, returning to the Fleet now the war had begun. In his place, the Selection committee chose Lip-Lap Zaha-Ni, figuring his terraforming bonuses would be useful.

2322 - End of the Glebsig:
20211025084814_1.jpg

While scattered Glebsig would temporarily survive in other nations, or make their escape from the Prikki cattle farms, the Glebsig front of the war was over after just three years.

20211025085946_1.jpg

The Hazbuzan Syndicate however, blocked the hyperlanes to the Chinorr's farther territories, and therefore, would be eliminated.

20211025160853_1.jpg

Two years was all it took.

2325 - Repeucid Restorers Awaken:
20211025162913_1.jpg

The Prikki hadn't known them before their awakening, but the prospect of having to fight an Awakened Empire did not appeal to the Prikki. Thankfully, they were far.

2325 - Prikki Assault the Chinorr:
20211025163104_1.jpg
20211025163117_1.jpg

The Chinorr war took the longest of the three, and was divided into two fronts - a south of Prikkiki Ti front, and a west of Prikkiki Ti front.

Their navy was substantial, sufficient to take on a Marauder horde, and they had Gateway access forcing the Prikki have to divide their forces into three areas to stop a potential Chinorr attack route into Prikki space.

2325 - Chinorr Cyborgs:
20211025163650_1.jpg

It wouldn't save them from the ravenous geckos swarming into their systems though.

20211025165019_1.jpg

One of the biggest losses of the war took place in 2326, when seven battleships were lost.

But the Prikki could replace their losses, and the Chinorr could not.

2326 - Upgraded Drive Yards:
20211025184725_1.jpg

The finished drive yards were essential for the expansion of the Prikki navy.

2329 - Dyson Spheres:

20211025192507_1.jpg

Technological progress had collapsed within the Prikki as the war took over all the management of the bureaucracy, taking almost three times as long because of the sheer insufficiency of Prikki governance to keep up with how rapidly the Prikki could expand. Two nations had fallen in the time it took for hundreds of research labs on dozens of worlds to figure out cohesive plans for Dyson Spheres...

20211025193003_1.jpg

But Prikki ambitions to build more ships took another leap forward with the beginning of a Mega-Shipyard - when complete, the Blablon system would be able to produce 32 ships at the same time.

20211025193324_1.jpg

In the face of relentless Prikki assault, soon the Prikki had smashed the Chinorr down to their last few systems.

By 2330, the Prikki Rain only had one more world to fall on in this war:
20211025194956_1.jpg
20211025195115_1.jpg

The Prikki had wiped out three nations in eleven years.

2330 - Overclocking:
20211025194348_1.jpg

With the difficulties the Prikki were having, 5% represented a huge benefit.

Beginning to become a force to be recogned with now.

2330 - Penrose Sphere:

20211028055250_1.jpg

Efforts to solve the ongoing energy issues had led to the beginning of constructing a Penrose Sphere; unfortunately, the energy issues were resolved by the time it could be started.

2331 - Planning the Next Campaigns:

20211028060955_1.jpg

It was decided to turn the navy around, and head east into the Lokken, Humans and Orbis.

20211028061613_1.jpg

News of an infestation caused a slight delay.

20211028061713_1.jpg

The Prikki didn't know what to think about this. The few Spiritualist Prikki began prophesying the end, but were ignored.

2331 - Auridians Awaken:
20211028062425_1.jpg

The prospect of a war between two Awakened Empires interested the Prikki; the way to beat them both was let them exhaust each other, then sweep in for the kill.

2331 - The Unbidden Arrive:
20211028061941_1.jpg

Soon the cause of the disturbance was known.

The Prikki would answer:
20211028062555_1.jpg

Three more fleets, totalling another thirty six battleships, were immediately ordered.

Efforts to solve the ongoing energy issues had led to the beginning of constructing a Penrose Sphere; unfortunately, the energy issues were resolved by the time it could be started.
This isn't too unfortunate. Massive amounts of surplus energy opens up a wide array of future options, especially at this stage of the game.

Also... it's a Penrose Sphere! I personally love these megastructures, and they're one of my favorite additions to the Gigastructures mod for their versatility.

Yeah, but it's only ~600 energy each month; not as much as the Dyson Sphere I wanted to build but couldn't due to lack of Ascension perks...

The Unbidden will be banished back where they come from! Loving all these megastructures too.
