As has come up in the Fan of the Week thread, there's currently one very active group of AARland denizens that, despite spending a lot of time in AARland and often making a great effort in their posts, is not eligible for any of our awards as they're neither AAR writers nor ones that follow and comment in the traditional sense. It is time to rectify this. The group I'm referring to is the active participants in heavily interactive AARs.

Note that this award is meant for the players, not the authors (unless they're also active players, of course) as there are plenty of awards available to them already. Organizing an interactive AAR can be an immense task, and it would all be for naught if people didn't participate.

This is a monthly award, with the previous winner choosing his/her successor at the start of each month and informing the winner (via PM for example). I'm sure the players themselves know who they like to share interactive AAR threads with, but some guidelines for choosing the next winner might include looking for someone who's active, puts thought into his/her posts and treats other participants, the author and indeed everyone in the threads with respect.

As the player that Riccardo93 would have liked to grant the Fan of the Week to, the inaugural winner of this award will be etranger01. Congratulations, you are the first Role PlayAAR of the Month!

Congratulations to etranger01 and I am very happy to see interactive AARs getting a little recognition. They can be a pain in the butt, but when done well and when filled with interesting characters they are some of the best AARland has to offer.

Congrats again.

nice! a new award category! Congratulations etranger01!

This is great to see, interactive AARs have been badly in need of some recognition for the work that goes into approving, organizing and running them. Congratulations etranger01!

Very cool! Thanks to Riccardo93 for nominating me in the first place, to Malurous for being generous enough to make an entirely new award just for me (..and the dozens of other people who put tons of effort and great roleplaying into interactive AARs, I suppose), and to BigBadBob for having such a fun, excellently-written AAR for me to throw wildly off-track with my socialist agit-prop and incessant posting. I'll have my platform done soon, I promise!

Congrats, etranger01! Indeed, participators in interactive AARs were in need of some recognition now that the genre has matured on the forum.

Congratulations, Etranger! :D

The mods created a brand new award because I ballsed up! And, actually, this award will be yours for all time; we're just going to close this thread on October 31, so you will be the one and only... or something like that, I don't know.

Hmmm, looks like my prediction was prescient... Etranger for PlayAAR for LIEF!

Out of curiosity, does this award only go to people in Interactive AARs, or does it apply to those in Forum Games, as well?

Hmmm, I think theAhawk would be a worthy nominee; certainly an active member in the Presidents, which is what I'm most familiar with.

Yes, congrats, Sir theAhawk!

Wow; thanks! It's really good that another section of the forums is being rewarded for their (often exceptional) efforts; kudos to Riccardo and Malurous for the idea! Hopefully, this will become a more regular award (ie monthly like it was billed) for this reason, plus it might help to attract more people, who are always appreciated! I'd also like to thank Riccardo for the nomination and BigBadBob for putting in the amount of time he does to organise the Presidents, which I would recommend checking out (not least because I'm currently the President...)

Congrats theAhawk!

Any chance of actually making this monthly at this point? So hang on to the award for now, theAhawk, and pass it on (and inform the recipient) around New Year if that's possible for you. That way we can keep it moving at the start of each month and we can avoid any confusion as to when it's supposed to be awarded next.

Sorry; I wasn't really sure when to post as such... I'll wait until the end of the month then!

The year is nearly over and a new one is about to begin (surprisingly...) This also means that a new month will shortly be with us and so a new RoleplayAAR of the Month and I would like to pick Gloa; this is a person who always puts exceptional amounts of thought and effort their writing, who has been active in the realm of Interactive AARs for far longer than me (and continues to be to this day), who is always courteous and who has become so deeply involved that the recap and party-guide (which are updated regularly) produced are second only to the all-important rules (and a long forgotten character list) on the Presidents. Congratulations!

Congrats, Gloa, ole buddeh, ole pal! :D
