Polish Chronicles - Chapter I

After news reached in the capital, about Jogawde wars in which the Prussians would be fighting each other, Drogowit quickly summons his brother, Goscimir de Czersk, to Plock, in order to convince him to invade some Prussian lands in the north. It would not be difficult for Goscimir to join his brother, and he quickly summons his troops, the two eager for war leave the following month, marching north.

1,300 soldiers led by Drogowit go to Galindia and defeat the army of High Chief Jogawde in the Battle of Galindia, while the battle is at its peak, in Plock the first son of Drogowit is born, who before leaving asked his wife to name him of Drogomir if it were a boy. While Warcislaw soon vows to be vassalized to Drogowit. The people of Mazovia were about to taste peace again, but Drogowit would summon his men and his vassals to war, and openly defied the power of High Chief Piast of Greater Poland.

In the following months, Drogowit would remain in enemy territory, conquering and plundering the settlements of High Chief Piast, who had no way of defending himself, he would lose a large number of men in his external wars, leaving Drogowit free to conquer his land. After Piast's surrender at Plock, High Chief Drogowit declares his intention to become the leader of all Poland for his troops and the chiefs of tribes under Drogowit's suzerainty. While some noblemens raised their fist and shouted in favor of Drogowit along with the soldiers, other chiefs, especially those defeated in previous wars, saw it as something dangerous, more and more Drogowit became unreachable.

Drogowit, patiently planned for years his final invasion of the Polish lords, this time to the respected commander Lechoslaw of the Lendian tribe to the south, the most powerful faced so far. But Drogowit to stay on top, arranges strategic engagements for his children, allying himself with Borivoj Premyslovci of the Czechs and Ctibor z Kaszebe of the Pomeranians who receive Drogowit's call to war.

Drogowit defeats the Lendians at the Battle of Rawa, and soon conquers Sandomierz, leaving for Wislica shortly thereafter, who after an assault falls to Drogowit's troops. As the soldiers plundered the settlements, Borzyslaw brings Lechoslaw himself, leader of the Lendian tribe and his family, to Drogowit. Drogowit proposes that Lechoslaw swear allegiance to him, offering him and his family the freedom for them. Drogowit is crowned the King of all Poland in Plock, while the other lords bow before him and the crown is placed on his head, thus the Kingdom of Poland is founded.

The Sorbs tribe collapses, High Chief Uldarich converts to Christianity, initiating several revolts within their territory of the lords who were opposed to this new faith; and to protect themselves, some Polish chiefs, go to Plock, and offer their loyalty to King Drogowit, who warmly accepts the vows of Chief Milowit of Glogów and Chief Gardomir of Wroclaw.

Taking advantage of the decay of King Slavomír's Kingdom of Great Moravia, the war arrives again, with King Drogowit conquering the tribe of Opole without much effort, and soon after he goes north, defeating the High Chief Tlokote of the Skalvians, taking the city of Cranzkuhren in coastal zone mainly, the Kingdom of Poland now has a coastal territory.

After spending years fighting wars to the west, conquering cities, temples and entire tribes, the first King of Poland, Drogowit at 45, passed away, a leader who made his name in history. His eldest son, Drogomir becomes the King of Poland at the age of 24, a respected commander, since the age of 16 the young Drogomir accompanied his father in the wars of conquest, it is expected that he will further expand the borders of the Kingdom of Poland. While Boneza, Drogowit's second son, becomes the High Chief of Kuyavia.

After 6 years of stabilizing the kingdom, using diplomacy to keep the Polish lords and his own brother in line, King Drogomir organized an invasion of the lands of the Lord of the Czechs, Borivoj Premyslovci, taking advantage that he would have to worry about other wars in the which is involved. At the Battle of Glatz, Drogomir leading the troops together with his friend, High Chief Bogdan de Belz commands 2,000 soldiers against 1,000 enemy soldiers on the hills of Kladsko.

A few days later, the Polish army was already in Prague. Borivoj imagined that being in his castle he would be protected, he saw King Drogomir's camp from afar at night, he only imagined the number of soldiers by the fires he could count, but at the beginning of the day he could no longer count how many soldiers King Drogomir had gathered, some sources said that 8,500 soldiers were surrounding Prague, which fell a few weeks later and Borivoj was taken prisoner, ending the war, with all of Bohemia subdued.

Upon arriving in Plock, parties are started, while the spoils are divided among the Polish lords. For Drogomir unfortunately, his wife, who had given him 4 children, would be found dead, a murder in which the author would not be discovered, thus Matylda z Kaszebe would die.

On the other hand, the most prestigious artifact of the Drogomir estates takes for himself, the book Ljetopis popa Dukljanina, which composes text on the Chronicles of the Bishop of Duklja, a work written by anonymous priests of Duklja, which contains semi-mythological stories about the beginning of the history of the Slavs of the Western South.

Polish Chronicles - Chapter III

Bubilas Zemaitis founds the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to the north, unifying all his people, but some Lithuanian settlements are still under the authority of Grand Duke Sviatoslav of Polotsk, future wars are likely between the two; King Drogomir ends up seeing this as an opportunity to expansion. Prince Archbishop Payen continued to preach his religion at Plock, and it seems that he managed to gather a large audience. After listening to one of his sermons, King Drogomir admitted to himself that this new faith seems to have its advantages. Soon his whole family and his brother, High Chief Boneza of Kuyavia embrace the new faith, and instability soon begins to spread across Poland.

After 3 years of King Drogomir's conversion, other Polish lords ended up following their king, such as Lord Dobromir of Bartia, Lord Doman of Galindia, Lord Bogdan 'Iron Arm' of Belz, Lord Siemowit 'the Frog' of Greater Poland and Lord Hostivit II of the Czechs. In northern Poland, Lord Boriwoj of the Pomeranians, a pagan tribe from the former Slavic religion, rules, most of which is still practiced in Polish territory. King Drogomir, after leaving the kingdom stabilizing, maintaining order, putting an end to any problem caused by religious difference, finally decides to declare a holy war against the Pomeranians, with the support of his most powerful Christian vassals.

The King leads the united Polish troops, goes to Swiecie, and commands an attack on the pagan forces, in these plains there is the Battle of Tuchel occurs, which with twists in the combat, the pagans win the battle at the end of the day, inflicting 1,500 casualties on the Poles, while losing only 1,000 soldiers according to some sources. While the pagans take Poznan, Drogomir summons reinforcements to the south, and again leads his men in battle, near Poznan, inflicting 1,000 casualties while losing only 350 soldiers, a victory that seemed decisive, and quickly the garrison in Poznan is destroyed, and the settlement is recovered.

Without measuring efforts, the Polish army quickly reaches Bialogard, in less than 2 days Drogomir leads an assault on the settlement. His troops when they reach the main hall, captured Lord Boriwoj, his wife and his concubines are also taken to Drogomir. Lithuanian leaders are arrested and exiled in battles over Upyte's forests, their lands are taken, and Polish lords are set to rule the region. The Birzai Temple transformed into a Bishopric begins with the preaching of Bishop Sieciech.

Things would not get better the following year, thousands of pagans unite before a peasant leader and rebel against the king, Dromogir himself goes so far as to kill the leader in battle, but the pagan army still manages to dominate the settlement of Plock, the two sons of the King are executed after the taking by the rebels. After long 2 years, the rebel army is steadily decreasing in number, and finally they are defeated in the Battle of Wloclawk, bringing back peace, at least in the lands near the capital, which now would need a long time to recover.

Polish Chronicles - Chapter IV

For years, King Drogomir spends his government with Poland in peace, while he tries to stabilize the religious problems of the other Polish lords and his subjects, several Catholic lords fall while pagans conquer their lands, the King tries in every way to make these new pagan lords converted to the Catholic faith, especially after the Lord of the Czechs fell, and Sobieslaw, a pagan, came to rule the region.

His son's succession is guaranteed after the King's brother Boneza de Kuyavia dies due to his obesity at the age of 50. Prince Witosz, lord of Prussia, becomes the most supported successor. At 62, Drogomir decentralizes power even more in Poland, now Polish society is more like feudalism in Western Europe, and Castles are founded, Plock Castle, Rawa, Brzesc, Inowroclaw and Schlawe by the King himself. soon according to medieval traditions, a coronation is initiated, and Drogomir is finally crowned King of Poland.

Drogomir already in his 70s, he no longer commands his troops, other Polish nobles have more freedom when using their soldiers, the conquests end up becoming less common, and it only happens sometimes that the Kingdom of Poland goes to war, King Drogomir tries to save the crown's treasury and invest in the crown's lands. At the age of 75, Drogomir, certain that he would not have much more time, decides to take out loans, with his accumulated wealth, he declares himself King of Galicia-Volhynia and Greater Moravia. Some time later, Bishop Szczesny de Gostynin crowns Drogomir again in a great celebration in Plock, this time as Emperor of Great Poland, with parties all over the kingdom, but with the other feudal lords in the capital paying homage.

For some reason, the now Emperor Drogomir decides to dedicate himself to serving God, and renounces the imperial crown, and to live the rest of his short life as a monk. His son Witosz accepts his resignation, and the next day he becomes the second Emperor of Great Poland, months later the Pope himself goes to Plock and in a grand ceremony crowns Witosz as Emperor.

The Witosz government would be fleeting, it would flood the Empire with debt, after building several castles in the prussian region, and it would not be able to pay for the debts; he would end up dying at the age of 56, after having become ill. In that time he would be able to have his only son supported for the succession, so Emperor Witosz II would rise to the throne at the age of 22. A year later, Prince Árpád Liuntika II would invade the lands of the Empire with almost 6,000 soldiers. Soon after, Khan Meger would take advantage and invade as well. The numerical superiority of Árpád manages to win the war, after defeating the troops of the poles in the Battle of Trencsén, Árva and Borsod.

Even after losing territories, Witosz II finally manages to pay the debts of the crown, and soon invests in a coronation ceremony in Plock. One of the great surprises of the party would be the Empress Grzymislawa, who at the time was pregnant, several of the polish nobles are impressed by the dazzling Empress, her beauty, her manner and the respect she exalted, easily becoming the great attraction of the party.

Some time later Drogomir dies at the age of 82, the first Emperor of Greater Poland, in his humble bed in a monastery near Plock. Soon after by imperial orders, Lord Bogumil of Sandomierz with almost 2,000 soldiers invades the island of Gotland, with the intention of taking to the Empire, the rest of the imperial troops left to the east, led by Starosta Milosz Branicki, to fight the invasion of Grand Duke Karijotas of Lithuania.

After 1 year of war, Milosz wins the war, after great victories in the Battles of Jurbarkas, Pasvalys and in the 1st and 2nd Battles of Zagaré, where they alone inflicted more than 5,000 deaths of pagan invaders. In Gotland, Lord Bogumil effectively takes over the island and repels several attacks by King Sigurdr Gut. With these great victories, Emperor Witosz II changes his court to Inowroclaw, becoming the new imperial capital in that place, and with a great investment, the Republic of Gotland is founded, Witosz II puts Pelka Sobieski as the first ruler of the island. Deep reforms are made even more, the Emperor changes the law of imperial succession to Seniority, unlike the old law of election gavelkind inherited from the former Polish tribes.

Several Polish nobles saw the changes as very radical, so led by Lord Bogumil they declared a rebellion with the intention of putting the old Polish laws back as the main one in the Empire. After 1 year and 7 months, the rebels surrender, after suffering several defeats on the battlefield for the imperial forces, Lord Bogumil, former leader of the troops that took Gotland, is imprisoned after the Battle of Romuva. Lithuanians taking advantage of the war, take the Samogitia region of the Empire, where Wirosz II had no way to counterattack.
