...at least the ones you remember.
And preferably the ones you played for 200+ years.
Just mark a capital of your starting realm. Might as well make a short commentary on it.
Purpose of this is purely for fun.

Here's my map:

UAlOI40Y.png

Most memorable runs:
-Antioch, almost on my own defeated several Jihads and Seljuk invasions. Formed the Roman Empire. Run lasted from 1066 to 1453.
-Icelandic Norse, conquered Asturias in 769, defeated the Umayaads and created e_Iberia.
-Zoroastrian Persia restored , multiple times. ;)
-Zunist hegemony, from Delhi to Heliopolis.
-Tibetan Empire.
-etc.
Most of the map would be red, if I included short runs. :D
Never attempted a world conquest. I'm almost always satisfied with 2-3 empires under my domain. Exception is of course Roman restoration, a feat I did more times than I can remember...

Here's a blank map, if anyone wants to have a go:
UAlOI4Y.png
Or you can use whatever means you want. It just has to be a map.

Cool idea! I'll chime in at least :D

Iceland - Always fun to try and make Iceland into something
China / Tibet - Tried out the Jade Dragon expansion a bit
Socotra - Like Iceland, but close to the Middle East
Cherson - My first start ever in CK2, and one I often like to fall back to
Provence - A cool area to start out, situated in-between Germany, HRE and Italy
Austria - I did some testing for this area after updating it, recently
Holstein - Did some testing for the Hansa decision that I added
Sicily - One of my favorite Byzantine areas to play in, and it is sort of distant from everything else Byzantine
Praha - One of the best Duchies in Central Europe, and it is fun to be able to such a centralized tiny Kingdom with so much firepower in the HRE (my only World Conquest was from Bohemia as well, actually)

Iceland - Felt like trying it, did fairly well before accidentally killing all my heirs.
Shetland - Viking run, raided far and wide. Never really tried to grow bigger.
Lothian - Took over Scotland, then Brittania. A fun start.
Mumu - Took britain, focused more on RP that run.
Leon - Reconquista, took most of europe. Managed to install cathar as the dominant religion.
Castille - Survived. Just. That whole playthrough seemed to be rather unlucky for me.
Ghana - West African Playthrough. Tried to reform, but never really managed to hurt the muslims enough.
Bavaria - HRE Vassal, grew internally, before assuming control.
Gotland - Trying a MR, became very rich. Patricians are pretty fun.
Malta - Small muslim, ended up becoming the sunni caliph. Took over most of the msulim world.
Cairo - Muslim vassal playthrough. Grew quite large, first time with Reaper's.
Thrace - Greek vassal, took the Holy Land. Eventually went independant, and became jewish.
Byzantium - Reform Rome playthrough. World domination.
[A Nomad] - Trying out HL, fun to expand.
Kirghiz - Mongolian vassal, managed to get Genghis to become a heretic, before stealing his empire.
Bengal - Form India playthrough.
U-Tsang - JD, formed Tibet.

My map.
Silesia - I am living there,
Pommerania - I love that coast,
Crimea - nomads is always fun,
Venetia - make money is cool,
Beirut - nice muslim experience (it is my current game).

My current status: 4000+ hours in the game.

Here's mine:

Hebrides - Ivar the Boneless is my go-to game.
Dublin, Mann - I've also played as Ivar's vassals.
Cornwall - Fun starting point.
Shropshire - 1066, form Powys in reverse. My present game.
Lucca - Tough start but worth it. Eventually conquered Sardinia & Corsica and abandoned the mainland.
Dhofar - Incredibly tough 769 start: Tribal but can't raid, Ibadi faith, but still important in Oman (which is likely doomed). Can you grab Yemen before your neighbors come knocking? Do you want to form an Indian Ocean merchant empire?
Algiers - Also tough because you get raided by Sunnis quickly.
Lanka - A bit more intrigue, but also potentially The Other Iceland.
Plauen, Meissen - My wife's from the area. Plauen and Meissen in 769 play completely differently!
Kantalahti - Conquering Scandinavia as a Sami. It's kind of interesting as you realize you're shutting down the Vikings.

Here is mine:

I mostly play/ed modded games, so many of the locations are not placed at their real locations.

- West African area:
I tried all major African pagan kingdoms/duchies there as well as the Lamtuna, the predecessors of Almoravids in 867 (in modded game, vanilla doesn't have them)
- North Africa:
I made several games as Almoravids, Hammadids, Riyahids and Zirids or Aghlabids. Many of them were various test games which somehow became interesting, so I cound't help myself and had to play few centuries.
- Egypt and East Africa:
My most favourite start there are the Beja/Blemmyes and Nubia. I also ran some test games as Fatimids or Tulunids and (only in modded version) the tribes of Western Oases of Egypt.
- Arabia: I tried to play as Hashemite shaykhs of Mecca and Medina as well as tribals of central Najd in various starts
- Iran: I ran several test games as Seljuks and Ghaznavids, the games I enjoyed the most were those as Hindu Shahis of Kabul, the Afshins of Ushrushana (only in modded game)and Dulafids in Qomm, then I tried also the Karakhanids and the Karen
- Christian world:
I really enjoyed playing as Bagratunid Armenia, the other choices were attempt to do some crusading and French experience as dukes of Toulouse, reconquista as Castille, republics as Amalfi and Gotland... really enjoyed d'Hautevilles /several games as them/ and last but not lease, there is Bohemia area. Dukes/Kings of Bohemia are probably my favourite start, in various start dates. I also occasionaly try Great Moravia or the Moravian Premyslids as well as tribal Bohemia in 867 start date.. and there was also a game (in modded SWMH/HIP) as Bohemian minors of Vršovic dynasty in north-west Bohemia.

MAP.png

1. Dobrava of Kiev - WC as Reformed Slavic custom empire of Ukraine, nuff said
2. Mahtar of Canarias - Most Serene Berber Pirate/Mercahnt Republic of Reformed West Africans. Killed Ummayads, messed up with MR succession (in a huge republic one Doge of different family can destroy your realm easily)
3. Sergios of Dalmatia - several attempts, several Lombard princesses married, several Croatias formed, everytime hated iconoclasm triumphated (was way before M&M so no good way to impact emperors faith)
4. Thoma of Kassala - tribal Miaphysite changed ways to become Jewish Merchant Republic of the east, formed Israel, built Third Temple, restored priesthood, won great holy war, period
5. Tong Ataklumo of Nagchu - mostly Buddhist (Bon is sooo undeveloped without a proper reformation), got independence from Tibet, became Tibet, ate India, Middle East, Byzantium was in defense pact against me, survived Chinese invasion, sadly dropped (greatly regret and probably will revisit)
6. Toim Snama of Osraige - classic Ireland, formed Alba, saw Bulgaria beating Byzantium (!) to the dust and Rome under Sheikh of Africa rule
7. Levan of Abkhazia - my most diplo dancing game, with becoming Assassin, forming Georgia, inheriting Sardinia and Corsica, establishing my wife as Basilissa, making my second in line Son basileus
8. Buriberdi of Alania - nomad playthrough just to get understanding of their mechanics and power for future references, broke free from Khazars, managed to capture and sack Constantinople after Invasion of Greece

Now after I painted all of this, I recall - I tried Konstantinos of Byz just to feel this unstoppable force in my hands:
Byz_fin.jpg
and felt dirty...yeah, that is 849 year, freaking OP

The lack of Ireland is shocking and upsetting! :p
:D Oh come on! I'm not the only one who doesn't have it there (and didn't play there), am I? :)
Anyways, I bet it isn't all that surprising in my case, is it?

Barring all the boring Ireland and Western Europe starts:

Zarma - Reformed the West African faith and made the Empire of Mali.
Fareyar - Made a Cathar Merchant Republic with it. Owned Empires of Britannia and Scandinavia (and most of Hispania, but didn't quite form it). I got Crusaded a lot.
Gotland - Straightforward "Got Land" Viking run. Became Emperor of Scandinavia and reformed the faith. Kicked out the Jomsvikings by accident.
Mann - Failed attempt to carve out a Viking Empire here, Ireland had a Liberation Revolt and then used the event troops to Holy War me.
Usturt - The site of many failed Zoroastrian runs. I like to play as the Tribal Vassal of the Karen Satrapy here.
Dihistan - Site 2 of many failed Zoroastrian runs. I do these runs without converting.
Gilan - Site 3 of many failed Zoroastrian runs. Gets Holy Warred almost instantly.
Semien - Worked my way up to Jerusalem with these boys. Created the Third Temple, Kingdom of Israel and Restored the High Priesthood.
Socotra - My Nestorian run was doing okay until about 1200, as the Black Death rolled through, I got Jihaded, then a particularly nasty rebellion finished me off as I died without an heir.
Mohadavasaka - Trying for "White Hun" currently. Second attempt. Last time Tibet got too big and I couldn't contend with them, and China was too plagued by Civil War so I couldn't stack enough Grace to get them shattered.
Sakya - Went for "Sakya Trizin", accidentally conquered India. I forgot to get all the Holy Sites.

I lose a lot ;_;

All the longer cca 100+ year games I could remember (only count and duke starts). I've only played two of them till the very end of the game though -
Zoro Khiva and the 1071 pagan Swedish count one. Funnily enough I messed up both of my African playthroughs. Got rekt by Muslims both times, I'll try again some day.

Sreckom92 - Started in Gauda, Pala dynasty (1066). Easy to to expand from there. I shattered the initial kingdom before starting, to make it a bit harder.

Af Munso Start - First time I reformed a pagan faith, only to die in battle 3 consecutive times, end in a child regency and game over as a result of my scheming regent.
Dublihnn - Created the Empire of Ireland using only the Irish provinces and custom kingdoms, the only time gavelkind worked in my favour (gave me lots of control over my realm, especially as an orthodox convert)
Lettigallia - Largest empire, taking all of and converting/ culture shifting to Lettigalian: central, eastern and northern Europe, Britain, Constantinople, Arabia, half the steppes and just beginning to make headway into India as a reformed Romuvan family of Emperors/ Empresses.
Turkish Steppe nomads - Empire of the Sun achievement run, wherein I pillaged all of Iran to Armenia into nothingness, before settling in Constantinople too quickly for the "Nobody's business but the Turks" achievement to fire.
Socotra - Probably the most bizarre one of all, back when you could use the priest revolt-surrender strategy to become a Merchant republic, became the Messalian republic of Yahballa. Original intent was to just stay safe as the single county island, but the A.I had larger, GRANDER plans. I lost the election, and immediately, the A.I declares a holy war on the Abbasid Caliphate for Afar and later the duchy with both Medina and Mecca. and wins, to the surprise of literally everyone. Later going on to form the Order of St.Addai, and meetup with Byzantium as the caliphate fractures due to internal squabbles and peasant revolts, leading to the fight for supremacy over Arabia /Persia between Nestorianism, Zoroastrianism and the Messalians.
Finland - Usual play area.
