By June 1st, 1939 Poland's situation is hopeless with much of the Polish army surrounded in Warsaw and the rest defending a rapidly shrinking corridor between German and Soviet forces.

Almost unbelievably Hitler almost gets away with another “peaceful” annexation as Slovenia is demanded from Yugoslavia on June 1st 1939. Even now France looks on the verge of agreeing to a comprise until Prince Paul makes an impassioned plea to his Czechoslovakian allied. “You will be next,” he tells them and both Romania and Czechoslovakia agree to support Yugoslavia.

Churchill steps in and finally manages to persuade France and the United States that enough is enough.

A note from all allied powers informs Berlin that any violation of Yugoslavia territory will be considered an act of war by the combined Allied powers. The world holds it’s breath.

June 6th, 1939.

On the following day German forces cross the border into Yugoslavia, and the Second World War breaks out in earnest. All the Allied powers quickly join the conflict with Yugoslavia joining the Allies

As a historical curiosity, it is the Fascist government of Spain, now renamed the Spanish Empire, that formally request that the United States enter the war.

The inclusion of a single heavy TD brigade is shown to be critical as they prevent the piercing of US units.

With US forces fully committed in Europe, I’m worried about China’s ability to resist Japan on her own. As war production ramp up to the total mobilization, I begin some lend-lease hoping to buy China time.

Serious news from our backyard. Not only is Mexico nationalizing Oil concessions. The US ambassador in Mexico City gets the news that Mexico is in negotiation to join in the Berlin-Moscow Pact under the Guise of "International Proletarianism."

The Continental United States has been stripped bare of forces. Emergency orders are Issued to pull our Forces in Europe home

On November 7th while the entire US army is in the mid-Atlantic Mexico joins the pact. There are still no US forces anywhere in the continental United States. Panic breaks out as all units under training are deployed and rushed toward to border.

Frantic diplomatic efforts to delay the Mexican entry into the war are futile and three days later their forces cross the undefended border.
