Sorry for the very long update here, there was a multitude of complications (and yes, I still used my mechanical typewriter), but now this AAR will start to get exciting (maybe), so here goes...

The Expansion

In the year 1863, various wars and political outcomes have shaped the world into this

The King of Java receives information that the conquering Netherlands are in the political sphere of France. He doubts it will ever get out of its sphere. China gets attacked
by almost all of the major powers all at once. The result is it losing Mongolia and a large part of eastern China. Iron steamers were developed in 1864, followed shortly after
came larger naval bases, 2 years later... Factory production is now an issue, since Java civilized, and has fared well in building factories. On October 18th of 1966, railroads
were researched, and the first lines of rail were constructed much soon after it was developed. (As a bonus, here goes some irony when compared to most of today's views
on the CSA... [link]) On January 26th, 1868, the King(/Sultan) of Java is informed that a 3rd war between
Confederate and Unionist America erupted in the west. Java has begun conquests again after international tension cooled down. Looking for a nice, large area to conquer,
the invasion of Sindh begun. The Map of the World 3 years after Sindh's Annexation.
A year later, Anarcho-Liberal rebels sprang up all throughout Java, but because of Java's strong military presence, it did not succumb to them like other nations. In 1876, Machine
Guns were developed, and it significantly improved infantry and even colonists (for fighting violent natives, of course). In April 23rd, 1877, a "Race for Atjeh (Aceh)" begun, where
Java and the Netherlands were simultaneously fighting Atjeh.

Each army was capturing a province...

Java in 1877

Another two years, the political doctrine of Imperialism was developed, bringing expansionism to a whole new level...
v245.png

Plus, because of the research previously mentioned above, Java could now colonize the empty lands in Africa and Papua, and the minor kingdoms of Borneo (Kalimantan)

Just a day later, a permit was issued for the excavation of the Valley of the Kings, though this spoiled international relations...
v246o.png

In the end though, Java went into France's sphere, thus ending its ambitions to attack the Netherlands (which would be a foolish attempt anyways)...

Final map for this episode of the AAR: [link]

This is all for now. Next one coming soon...

On a side note: I seem to be a bit lazy making these things... Expect me to be a bit slow these days (last time, it was holiday season!)

Hm... It's been a month since my last post, and AHD was released today... Expect me to not have upgraded, just yet.

EDIT: Err... Be patient guys, the problem is that my typewriter ribbon broke down, I have to find where the other backup one is...

Here I am, I'm back with a new post. As you can see, I made a wonderful mistake (sarcasm) of pressing f-12 to take a screenshot, instead of f-11. As a result, I could not show you the battles, and the casualties of each battle through screenshots. Foolish me... Well, here goes anyways:

No Other Chance

July 1st, 1883: Biologism, a new scientific idea, was developed
July 1883: The King of Java takes a huge risk and declares war on the Netherlands. Though it is allied with Sweden, and, *gulp* Great Britain, only Spain joins the war.
July 30th, 1883: The Battle of Siak occurs, in which would culminate into a major battle with large Dutch casualties.
September 24th, 1883: Krakatoa, what will soon be the largest volcano eruption in history, erupts in the province of Bogor, decreasing its growth and overall population
October 1883: The Battle of Siak concluded, with Java victorious.
December 1883: A minor naval battle at the Karimata Strait occurs.
January 1st, 1884: The new year starts fresh with Good Healthcare as the new policy.
February 22nd, 1884: Britain intervenes and attacks Java in Sukkur. No more hope for Java, but it holds on.
March 26th, 1884: France gets the Netherlands in its sphere, making another war improbable, if not impossible. (Java is still in France's sphere)
April 2nd, 1884: The King's aggressive "extermination" military doctrine pays off: The Dutch army in Sumatra is annihilated.
April 10th, 1884: Somaliland is colonized by Java, opening the path to the colonization of the rest of Africa
June 4th, 1884: A peace is signed, with Java in Status Quo, before Java starts to lose, and will make peace demands even more difficult
July 4th, 1884: On the same day, small pensions are given out to the poor and the elderly

This is all for now. Next one coming soon...

On a side note: I've changed the layout to let you see how I work by typing on my handy typewriter. It's more or less the same as on what I write, with many tweaks here and there. I write in raw data on the typewriter. (Also, because I forgot that f-12 does NOT mean screenshot, rather map shot, making me look like a complete idiot.)

International Situations

To increase population happiness, Java adopts a shorter, 14-hour workday. The next month, Prussia and its Djibouti colony expands and conquers Abyssinia...
v248.png

Many months later, on the month of September, the black liquid substance called "Oil" is found beneath Tarakan...
v249.png

More military development occurs, and in the next month, Javanese Dragoons are ready to be trained...
v250.png

Then, on November 15th of 1885, Texas gains independence from the Confederate States of America, splitting the once-united states into three...
v251.png

(Note how it is surrounded by rebel occupation)

The new year of 1886 begins with social reforms. To increase citizen's lives and help the elderly, pensions are increased, to a level of "Low Pensions"
In January 26, the CSA goes bankrupt, when earlier it was more powerful than its rival cousin, the USA...
v253.png

A very unfortunate event indeed for the Confederate States, as it plummets off the Great Powers list, being below even Java...
v252.png

Months after, the King of Java discontinues labor spies on grounds of an impression that Java's leaders care about the Javanese's personal liberties...
v254.png

In late August, a Communist Revolution occurred in Nejd, yet again changing its government (it was a Bourgeois Dictatorship previously), and becoming the first Communist state in the world...
v255.png

The next year, pensions for the elderly increased. In April, Java begins to modernize its navy...
v256.png

In May 28, 1887, a third (perhaps) war erupted between the Confederate States and the United States of America, showing how bitter enemies they are.
In the month of September, the area of Werder in East Africa was colonized by Java...
v257y.png

On the First of January, Java adopted a Minimal Safety policy, due to the Socialist threat that was threatening the ruling Conservatives. On the 15th,
Java had a new energy source, using Pressure Steam Engines. By February 2nd, 1889, the war in America had turned out bad enough for the Confederates that they once again joined the Union...
v258.png

The Far-flung Empire

On the 20th of February, 1889, Java declared war on the much-north Korea in hopes of attaining resource-rich Northern Korea...
v259.png

The war ensues as Javanese soldiers land on both ends of the Korean peninsula (east and west). Whenever the Javanese need more troops in Korea, they ferry some from Java. The Koreans
make a good defense, but the superior tactics and technology of Java defeats them. During the war, Java colonizes Northern Papua, with its forests filled with tropical wood, therefore expanding
on all ends. In May 9th, 1890, Java is victorious in the war against Korea, and attains the steel and coal rich Northern Korea. Months later, the colony of Karachi becomes an official, full-fledged state.
To conclude, this is the Map of the World in 1890: [link]

This is all for now. Next one coming soon...

On a side note: If you've noticed, I have different flag frames than usual. That's because I used EGaffney's Big Flag Frames graphical mod. You can download it yourself if you are interested.

Before you think I've completely lost interest in this AAR, please know that I don't have internet and won't have any on my computer for quite a while, so if I finished another episode, I can't publish it, and that I still don't have AHD. ;)

EDIT: Scratch that, my internet connection became functional again. And I still don't know why it's unstable.

I've pretty much prepared the next episode(s) of this AAR, all I need now is internet connection for my computer (before you ask, I'm using my phone). Oh, and as a preview, let's say The United Kingdom thwarts my plans. Again. And, um, Nejd is EXTREMELY unstable (3+ revolutions in one game, constantly swinging back and forth from Proletarian Dictatorship to Bourgueois dictatorship). Stay tuned though, who knows? I may have already posted the next episode.

Eugh... Okay, my internet's back on (for a while at least). See how my internet connection is unstable? It was off about, something like an hour ago. Well, whatever it is, you should expect the next episode in an hour or so (or maybe a few days/weeks if my internet goes off again). I bet it's my pesky phone taking up internet space.
