I just tried this game: "War in the pacific admirals edition" and I can say it is amazing as a concept; a pure tactical WW2 game in the pacific that is way better than anything I have seen before in terms of air-naval warfare.
That said, their interface is really "primitive" to say the least, you can easily spend a lot of time micromanaging in a way I haven't seen since the 90s. It is also lacking in terms of learning curve, no tutorial and small number of scenarios.
So, my suggestion to PI: you should take a look at this game and see if they are interested in doing a "War in the pacific II" using Paradox's much better engine and user friendly interfaces; you already have the fan base from the HOI series, so a potential win-win
best regards
