Download 1914 Version 0.42

Once again I reinstalled everything from scratch. This time I did use another no time limit patch.

The game still wants to find /units/divisions/escorts when I load.

So I put the escort file in the division folder.

The game still crashes when I'm about to begin playing..

Are you sure you have downloaded the correct version? Installing the DD version over HOI2 and vice versa is a bad idea.

You can see my screenshot in one of my previous posts. They are the correct files. Or atleast they are supposed to be.
 
Which language setting are you playing with, English I guess? Did you "create" your DD directory with the repair-tool of the original disc, a fresh installation or did you just copy the game folder you were playing with before?

Many have experienced that kind of problem before and usually it was because of a corrupted installation, yet we may try to exclude any other possible cause.
 
As I have done the whole procedure several times I have tried both repair and fresh install. It's har d to believe that it should be a corrupt installation now that I have done the whole thing 3 times.

And yes, language is english.
 
One last possibility that comes to my mind (out of despair) is that it might help not to delete the dd folders before you copy 1914 over it. Files required for 1914 should just overwrite the old ones and when the game is searching for a file that did not come with 1914, it will take the original one. Maybe worth a try.
 
I'll try that tomorrow than. :) I hope it works, I'd really like to play the mod.
 
I've encountered a problem. I was playing the 1911 scenario as Italy. The balkan league declared war on the ottomans and they won, but the problem is that montenegro got almost all the land. Then albania declared independence but is only one province large. Here's an image to show it:

v. Manstein is working on fixing this for 0.43.
 
I have another really big problem... like this should be fixed right away. Britain never joined the war, it's now 1915 and they can't join because france is -123 with them and they are too democratic/isolationist to even DOW germany. Plus germany is in belgium so that should have brought britain in too.

Open the settings.cfg-file in you 1914 root-directory with the windows notepad (editor) and change the number in line one from 4 (german) to 0 (english) and save your changes and everything should be fine.
 
Your download mirror doesn't work for the bundled 0.42 version, at least for Doomsday.

And I still support a better mod with a 0.44 version, before 0.5 is laid out.

And abandon the damn HoI 2 version. DD is good for now. Armageddon in the future (maybe with 0.5 we can have an Arm version alongside a DD one). Again that would be why I support a 0.44 "mop up" job of 0.43.

I knew within in time we'd find common ground ;) :)

How's 1897 coming along? Aside from the numorous new events you've done, the relative_manpower = xx #new and the industrial tech tree, are you also the one that plays around with the province.csv all the time? ;) Can you please somehow keep the original DD colors, such as white for plains, hills light brown, mountains dark grey etc if that's possible? That is what I'm used to. :eek:o Sorry!

Well, real life has reduced my activities since my last contribution to the 080512 dev version. I have hit Italy fairly strongly via the province.csv, reducing them below 60 IC. I have found references on the Web that Italy had half the manufacturing capacity of Austria-Hungary and Germany had three times the manufacturing capacity of A-H, so this meant Italy had to come down. I have also added oil to Galicia and have changed Korea from a desert without resources into a country that can exist (at least barely). I have also been responsible for reducing Belgrade, Serbia, from the industrial capital of the world to something more appropriate.

I try not to touch the colours, so it they change, it happened by mistake.

What I try to do when I am not either working or taking up family responsibilities:

* Try and make an ARM version (currently experimenting with moddir)
* Finalise the industrial tree by giving the tech components proper names
* Sketching out a new Infantry tree that will give at least two more division types between 1895 and 1912
* Trying to sort out some naval graphic stuff
* Subvert the forum community so that HOI2 support is discontinued (ceterum censeo ...)

Yeah, HoI 2 support is just a waste of time. Upgrade, here here.

Does v. Manstein know how many downloads the HoI 2 version gets anyway?
