I did what you told me...of course i've experienced the second error...battleship.txt...and then light_cruiser, heavy_cruiser, battlecruiser.txt, destroyer.txt, carrier.txt, escort_carrier, cag.txt, naval_anti_air_s....and in this point i've replaced the 2 folders units and brigades with the vanilla ones.

The game is starting but i will play your older ver. 2.1b.

Am i the only one who play your mod over AoD not Arma?

interesting, and the files you list are the ones ive made minor changes to. i also modded naval aa. there are no new files added to those folder so game will run with vanilla unit files.

You may be the only one playing over AOD. i have not heard from any one else playing over AOD. I could leave the unit files out of an AOD version and post that for DL. i have AOD but don't know why the unit files would be different or cause an error only on AOD?

I will post an AOD ver 2.2 without unit files and you can see if that works.

thx for your replay. I think that only the naval units are affected. Then why the error display Unknown Type in LandDivision?

P.S: I don't have any modding experience and maybe it's a silly question...

Hi Electric,

i did check files in mod and i did include Marine even though i didn't change it. but still you have a good question, why is the AOD version trying to load naval bomber as a land div. AOD must have a diff way to look at the unit files and so the game is asking, sees an error, with the catagory "surface detection", because land units don't have, surface detect, as a catagory. That would explain it.

I will have to load AOD and look at the file structure for units. when, i don't know.

The only resaon i changed the unit files is that naval bomber where doing to much damage to ships, is this the same in AOD? If not then units changes are not needed in AOD.

I will upload ver 2.2 for AOD tomorrow for DL. I did work on GER 39 research and it is researching much better.

take your time, it's not a hurry, because i play 2.1b from '33 and i'm quite happy. your mod is stable.

When can i say that the naval bombers are doing to much damage? they are pretty strong, but ai have air sup. with Int and my ships are very rare attacked by nav bombers and i can't say for sure if they are overpowered or not (but my hunch is that they are a little bit to strong).

The current settings: Diff=normal and Let the AI cheat as much as possible.
(it's the first game with your mod, ver 2.1b).

is 2.2 save game compatible? I have a few campaigns(Sweden, Australia, N. Zealand) started 1933 and now played into 1943 - 45.

ver 2.2 should be ok from a save game. I can't see anything spec. tht would cause a crash, or any events not working. some of the unit mods will not be changed for existing units but new ones will have new attributes. i update my games and play save games, that is how i found out dday was firing on the first day and had to fix it. it should be good.

quick fix for 39 scen will be coming out i hope today, ger start research is all i changed, 3 files right now,

HI all,

i have a quick patch ver 2.2a on the first post, sorry bout that. I tweaked germ research for 39 start, that is all. One other file is misc. file and I changed overstack naval to -3 and air to -7 as it should have been. it was -4 and -6.

i'm in aug 41 and Germ is rolling into sov's. Research is much better and Germ goes straight for Adv inf.

Hi all,

Here is quick summary of some of the events/ ai files i have changed for Ver 2.2 and some overall comments.

Based off OT's commemts i have changed % chance for Franco to enter axis, it is now 90% for No. i have not had Nat Spain enter axis in last 5 runs. i never noticed this. thx OT.

DDay: usa now decides on 1 of 3 coasts to att. reworked dday att files

if usa is AI then it will ask UK if they want to start dday, first try, March 1st, 43. I acc. Dday on March 1 and usa attacked on april 16th, Ger reaction was swift and destroyed 3 Marines.
I did not help usa as UK.

usa will launch DDay on it's own if Minsk and Kiev are germ controled in 44.

USA event, usa italy, did not fire. i will look at that.

Reworked Italy att files and garrison. UK, me, att. Sicily with 3 marines against 2 divs., dug in, UK lost the battle. i did change start Mar. shore att to -40 from like -22. also changed Dieppe raid to +200%.

Increased air att for alot of ships and changed mods for overstacking. bombers are still sinking carriers but not as bad. bombers sink ships in port with ease.

39 Scen start.

I added manpower to all majors but Sov.

I had added starting techs to all majors. i redid tech research for all majors.

i changed strat redeploy for usa and sov. this in turn allows sov to defend ger border and usa to launch invasion, usa would wait for one div to cross usa to start invasion.

i did not add any units to sov or usa, i added 2 garr to UK.

I posted AOD ver. on first post. try it out. I left out the unit files. let me know if you try it and if there are any errors on load up. it should be fine.

Here's a couple of game play options i use for balance.

I don't build large ship naval brigades. Well i just implemented this on my last game. Why, cause i can't get the AI to build them. i thougt i had seen ita do it, but not comfirmed. last run no ai countries building them. Ger gets a couple of torp. on BS. but i think it is from the Zplan.

no upgrading light to Medium tanks, this may hurt the Ger ai, but i think there is to much upgrading going on. not realistic.

played 2 games with 2.2 on Arma. Looks like Jap is too strong now. They puppeted Nat. China before Pearl Harbour in both and look unstoppable(Axis on the whole do) by end of 1943 in one game, have almost all of India... And a fair bit of Australia too... In the other game they look set to take India also, SU is keeping the Germs at bay yet, though.

UK can`t get their priorities right in the Pacific, they leave India to fend for itself, that`s like putting the noose around your neck self. Australia AI is also incapable of defending itself. I`ve no idea how to make the AI aware of the problems, but can send you my saves if you PM me an e-mail address.

I`m not saying the Axis should be doomed from the outset, but AI Axis victory should be a fairly rare occurrence if the differences in total potential vs the Allies is taken into account.

thanks for the update. I have noticed the same thing and part of reason i've been playing UK, look at India. i have been working on their file. They can be given independence by UK and i grant it to them when i play. i never looked at what file loads up if they go independ. that may help.

UK not reacting in S.E asia. don't know why. i will have to look at garrison. also Jap invade island off india coast and march in from there. i have that written down.

i just wrote down that i needed to look at AST. I had changed minors who are allied to not send as many troops to UK. It might have been left out in new patch.

AST garr needs a look also.

maybe change switch for UK so when Italy is out of N. Africa and Jap - USA relations collapse the Brits start redeploying troops to India?

Not too many troops need remain to beat Vichy if the Axis are out of Africa. And USA might perhaps be told to somehow deploy some assets to India.
Guarding Ceylon from Jap invasion is vital it being an excellent stepping stone to opening a second front on the Indian subcontinent.
Don`t know abt. granting independence to India, think it would worsen UK resources situation big time.

Over to india, ihave been playing from the 39 start

I have seen Eng. move over to SE asia after N. africa is Eng. I locked 2 garr. in ceylon. i also lowered amphib att distance for japan. i want them to focus on Philipines but they move out to empty provs.

i think i have to list new provs for Neth to garr after Germ beats France. that will help slow up japan.

i worked on Australia, they should now garr. homeland and not give divs to Eng. removed Aust Dday from events.

Have you played through 44 to see if Dday is happening? let me know

havn`t come as far in my 2.2 games as D-Day.

Re France in a very atypical event chain I`m playing(look at the "Suggestions for IC 1.03" thread) where Italy is Allies the frogggies still keep abt. 30 divs in N. Africa. I think it`s a general problem, the AI often being unable to deploy its forces according to the strategic situation.

S. Africa(me) and France(AI) in that game managed to encircle and destroy 56 German divs(and 7-8 minor Axis) in one go but we can`t exploit this as the French army sits in N. Africa. Annoying...
