thanks, however, there is a quick fix to to 2.1b. i put back germ lost national to dday event so you will have to DL that. i should have left that one alone. :)

have you done something re creation of Vichy? Because when Vichy formed in my game they got nothing on the Continent, just in N. Africa and colonies. Free France got some there too.

glad vichy worked. I have not modded those events but i did do some modding to some N africa events. there were some wrong prov. numbers. i think it was when germany occupies vichy.

I have been looking at naval bombers alot. I still can't get ships to damage airplanes worth a sh#t. I'm raising all air att. for ships and air defense. also changing stacking of naval units to -3 from -7 per unit over 2. i will have to ask devs if they are looking at this for next patch.

DDay now working great. last game i had invasion in southern france and on the channel. i have made new event USA asked UK if they want to start DDay. i think it works. nice for UK player and usa ai player.
I'm play testing now.

contrary to many I don`t consider nav bombers OP. I have now the first lvl(Lockheed Hudsons, no esc fighters) of those as Australia in autumn 1943 with doctrines maxed out as far as this lvl allows. They`re efficient but not OP anyway. My submarines do at least as well.

BTW, Germany did well vs SU and SU did well vs Germany. Then Spanish State joined Axis and the Krauts were steamrolled from the Iberian peninsula eastwards. Annexed by UK summer 1943. Italy is putting up a heroic fight but slowly losing, Japan is reeling on the ropes. Got Home Islands and Indochine only. And a few specks in the Pacific. Good too see that Nat China was able to achieve a stalemate until Jap DoW`ed USA.

I think that Franco joining Axis is very bad for them, if you want a long interesting campaign he should be kept outside the war. AND have a considerable chance USA doesn`t join the Allies but fights its own Pacific war. I`m not sure Roosevelt would be able to join the Allies hadn`t Adolf and Benito DoW`ed him themselves, the fools. His administration was interventionist, but the voters were not...
Events for that, per chance?

thanks for the update, good to see Germ and SU fighting it out. I also would like to see franco stay out of war, he actually did, but not sure how to effect that. It does change the game.

I'm dealing with Nat spain now playing as UK, they jumped right into the war. I will look into it.

Are your Nav bombers taking any damage? i have seen a 97 out of 100 after combat. CVL's should be doing major damage to bombers and also AA crus.

working on 39 start files. i have been starting from there, mostly to check on naval combat.

Interesting point on usa DOW on Germ, if germ not ally with japan then Germ should not DOW on Usa, however if Germ and italy win in N africa then usa should decide strat. I should be able to do that.

working on Sov research i have them gaining 75 mm tank in Aug 41, better but should be in early 41,

my navs take just a little dam even when attacking forces with carriers. I havn`t seen any Jap AA cruisers. The problem might perhaps be that generally Jap forces with carriers are heavily overstacked and that`s making them relatively impotent. And sometimes they send out single carriers with pitiful escort, if any, right into my sub traps...

real good info. I'm getting the same thing with UK fighting italy. CVL's are worthless. I have doubled their air att to 10 for lvl 1. and will double all over lvl's

I have changed stacking mod for naval units from -7 to -3. and increased air over stack to -7.

increased all air att to ships and air defence. with all that naval bombers are still taking slight damage if any at all.

i have been changing admiral percentages in naval files and also number of home fleet and att fleets.

i have been looking at Nat spain. also 39 start scen. those files are a mess. repeated numbers in ai files and research that is way off.

I could be mistaken here, but did any ships or navies have great success shooting down naval bombers?

I mean the Mariana's Turkey Shoot was mostly pilots from carriers.

I remember reading the IJN was loading AA guns onto every availible space on their ships late in the war and its results were not that impressive.

I also read, I forget what operation is was, when Brits made a dash to supply Malta, that didnt have much success shooting down enemy bombers.

When my bombers make port strikes I take some heavy damage, land based AA. If I attack a fleet at sea not so much...and it seems my bombers have to make 3-4 stikes to sink even a cruiser. It also takes 3-4 strikes to sink transports and destroyers but I understand this to be because each unit actually is a group of transports or destroyers.

shipboard AA wasn`t so much abt. shooting down, rather abt. dispersing and disrupting bomber attacks. AA cruisers were the means to achieve this and worked well for the Brits. FAA fighters primary anti-bomber task was also this.
Jap AA wasn`t efficient by itself, obsolete techs mostly. US AA became quite good with time, IIRC in some battles late in the war they got more kills than fighters.
Gamewise AA tries to shoot down attackers and perhaps ships need to have higher air attack. Or if attackers mission efficiency would decrease according to AA they face instead or in addition.

i have changed Franco from joining axis from 90% to 10%. seems to work fine. i have modded a bunch of 39 start files and have one event to write for comm china to make peace with japan. having CHC in the war really throws off the balance.
i have changed some japan att files and lowered number of fleets so we should see a better stack from japan.

I will be releasing ver 2.2 soon, i have to as i will be real busy over the summer,

putting final touches on ver 2.2. usa dday event is working, usa will ask UK if then want to start dday, event should fire on march 1st 43. usa will attack one of 3 coasts, Med, Atl, or cross channel, sometimes it does all. i have reworked almost all attack files and i think we might have a game here. i have been playing from 39 as UK and it is fun and tough.

i reworked the major countries 39 start. added some tech to start files UK will start with CVL. added a little manpower to all start.

Increased air defence for ships. Worked on Shore att. if marine gets to many bonuses and there amphib assault turns positive thier att value turns negative and they att/defend at +1. i switched number to -1 and there attack jumped to +198. same with defence. So i increased starting mod to shore att to -40 and lowered the shore att bonus to +5 from +10 for marines, the intent here is to not get a positive number. i hope that will work out. I will do one test run then release it.

Hi all,
I will be releasing Ver 2.2 tonight. working on some balance in 39 start, fixed Sov slow reaction to Ger invasion so now Ger doesn't fair well at all.

I have not fully tested Dday as i would like but i have to release it. when it does fire it works nice. I will try one last check on it. it should work fine.

I have gone over Ita switch files, looking to garr homeland better when usa enters war.

I play IC102 over AoD 107. Fresh Aod107 and IC102 install. I've tried to install only 2.2 (same error), then all the patches...2.0, 2.0a1, 2.1 fixes, 2.1b, 2.2 (same error)
Please, can you tell me how to fix it?

Hi Electric,

I look at file naval bomber, i did change surface defense, so not sure why you are getting error. i checked install again and no problem.

Fix, i would think that if you copy the naval bomber file in units folder after IC 102 install and place in temp folder. then installDB ver 2.2, then go back in to unit/division folder and copy over 2.2 ver with you r saved copy of naval bomber file, that shoould work.

let me know how it go's, :).

in 39 scen, i'm not happy with ger research, so balance is off. i will work on that. DB
