Enniskillen (Fermanagh and South Tyrone), Northern Ireland
Ulster Unionist Rally

With polling day fast approaching, the Ulster Unionists were busy campaigning to the very last minute. A huge rally was held in "The Diamond', Enniskillen's main square, where 400 ulster unionist supporters were gathered.

"My fellow friends! It is my great pleasure to be here with you today, with your very energetic Ulster Unionist candidate, James Hamilton. Now, I've got to tell you, James has been a tremendous help in Parliament, working very hard on your behalf in the months leading to the adoption of the Northern Ireland Economic Diversification Act. I must say that he extolled the virtue of his fellow constituents of Enniskillen to a point that I was almost afraid that all the money provided by the act would end up in here, given his words about your industrious nature.

The Ulster Unionist Party is hard at work to provide the necessary tools our communities need to compete worldwide, and most certainly in the European market. I share your passion for Northern Ireland goods and I certainly hope to see them in French and German households, to the benefit of our towns like Enniskillen.

What are these necessary tools to prosperity? First, a stable economy with predictable and stable economic policies. The current Labour government turned the entire economy outside down, treating capital and owners like criminals and overlooking the fact that they provide employment to millions of Britons. The state-run economy put forward by Labour is quite simply failing the middle-class, is driving business interests outside of Britain, and will soon fail the few Britons lucky enough to still be employed because it is unsustainable and currently fueled by massive deficits shoved down the throat of our kids, who will have to pick the tab. Rest assured that the Ulster Unionists will work very hard to ensure that taxes remain low, because you know better what to do with your money. We will also bring stability to the markets and bring back the private investments so needed by our economy and synonym with job growth.

I'm speaking of the tools for prosperity. One of them is a solid education for all. We believe in the potential of all Britons. We will work tirelessly to lower the amount of kids who leave school without a degree. We also believe that a general review of the curriculum is in order, to ensure that the focus is placed on skills and knowledge that will be useful on the job market. A smoother transition from school to the job market is also required, which we will address by creating work and study programs which will give incentives to our kids to finish their degree while allowing them some work experience.

Another tool for prosperity? Solid infrastructures to bring our goods to market. Together with our Conservative allies in Westminster, we will invest in infrastructure such as road and rail, to make the transportation of goods faster, easier and smoother. And I am quite sure you will all agree that our roads could use some renovations. Not that I don't enjoy bumpy rides!"

Laughter in the crowd.

"Now the vote you are about to cast is critical. You can either vote for the prosperity of the unemployment office, which has been quite busy lately due to the disastrous handling of our economy by Labour. Or, you can vote for prosperity for all Britons. A real, shared and sustainable prosperity.

On voting day, vote for a party who believes in you. Vote for a party who represents you. Vote for a party who cares about you. Vote James Hamilton and Vote Ulster Unionist! Thank you!"

"Do you think we should do something about this election business?"

"How so? This Liberal upswing might destroy Labour once and for all."

"It never hurts to lend a helping hand. Perhaps a leak is in order."

Labour May Not Get Security Clearance, Says Top Civil Service Sources
As the election enters it's final days, anonymous sources within the Civil Service have claimed that they may not be able to grant high-level Labour members Security Clearance in light of their rhetoric in this election, which many have called 'Bolshevik' in nature. "The fact is, we have rules as to whom we can give access to State Secrets" says our confidential informant, who has a senior position within the Civil Service, "And the way in which Labour have presented themselves in this election has created a question as to whether they are not being supported by subversive external forces. While we have an obligation to provide the information necessary for the elected Government to run the country, we must also make sure we are not handing information to people whose allegiance is elsewhere." Whilst the legality of such an action is certainly under question, it also poses a question of whether the Civil Service would continue to put into action Labour policies similar to those passed in the last three years, if they were re-elected.

Meanwhile, at the Eye.

"Bugger all, those chaps really had to censor that quote of Marr's past, didn't they." Burr-Hewitt whined while rubbing the back of his head.

"Yes, but in this case censoring a small amount of meaningless information for the good of not getting shut down is better than ... getting shut down."

Burr-Hewitt gave a grimace. "I still feel dirty on the inside, like I compromised my morals. Is this what it's like to be a Labour voter?"

"Probably, wouldn't know, I don't bloody vote anyways. They all suck."

"You fools! Which one of you leaked Marr's record without my permission?"

"I did, sir."

"This may be the greatest mistake of your career! If the public knows that Marr was a spy, we're in danger of making him look cool!"

Paris. May 1969.

Eve and David Marr, enjoying a couple of days sightseeing before polling day, flân along the river half-heartedly glancing at what is being offered by the bouquinistes. On the other side of the road, David's gaze stops at a small newsstand where, amongst the copies of Paris Jour and Le Monde, one can buy a stochastic mix of foreign dailies.

Unaroused by images of Pompidou and Chaban-Delmas, David notices something a bit more interesting on the front of the Telegraph.

‘Where are you going?’ Eve asks. David has already crossed the road. A minute later his brother has joined him.

‘Look.’ David gestures at the Telegraph, then turns to was his elder brother.

‘Our father is on the front of the Telegraph … What of it? He's the Home Secretary.’

‘No, look!’ Eve picks up a copy of the broadsheet and unfurls it in his hands. He reads the headline, then shoots his brother an incredulous glance.

PARRIS MARR: ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE

‘Eve, has our dad just been outed as a spy?’

((Here's a list of known RL British intelligence officers, still living today. These are people we know for sure to have their position declassfied while
still alive. This doesn't include those who had their position declassified while alive, but are now dead, cause that'd take too much time. Nore does it include people in either category who aren't famous:

Peter Everson

Harold Atchery

Christopher Geidt

Mike Jackson

Gordon Kerr

John le Carre

Bernard Lewis

Brian Patchett

Thomas Tugendhat (Literally an MP, right now)

Peter Urwin

Geoffrey Van Orden

Adrian Weale

Given that it sits unhidden in DBs biography, nore is there an attempt to write up a cover story, there's no way that could I be reasonably expected to know it's RPed as classified.

So you're gonna screw me, you should find another way unless you want to be simpleminded about it.

I rest my case, Y'all especially shouldn't be trying to screw over someone trying to be active so quickly.))

((Regardless of the details of other cases, Marr was not an 'outed' spy. Yes, it's in his biography – but then so is the past tense. I just imagined that it wouldn't exactly be common knowledge that he was, you know, a secret agent.

But that's not the problem, really. What I take issue with is that my character's backstory should be dictated by other people. No one is trying to "screw you" – as far as I'm aware, anyway – but it is generally the done thing that people have sovereignty over their own characters' hinterlands. You want to mention Marr in an interview? Fine. Just don't be surprised if I have an opinion on what you say. There was certainly no need to react so melodramatically to what was a fairly amicable request to make a small alteration to the IC in question.

If you have more to say, PM me.))

To the NUM

Thank you Men and women of the mines and collieries across Great Britain. Labour's term in government has been a turbulent one to say the least. Throughout 4 years we have seen the IDA bring us closer to true equality than ever before. Only for it to be snatched away from us by a betrayal from the Labour right, the EcoFascists of the Conservative party and the Liberals. So once more we stand at a crossroads, who do we want to represent us on the grand stage of politics? Do we want a party that sees us as traitors for attempting to improve our lot? Do we want to vote for a party that whole campaign relies on the fact that Jo rhymnes with Mo? Or do we want a party that believes in the worker so much, that they would sacrifice their careers to improve ours.

Throughout my time as leader of this proud Union, I have seen so many success stories. I have seen men who only have one thing in common, their NUM membership travel for miles to help fellow members when they are facing hard times.

I have seen a significant rise in working conditions and pay! Something only achievable by a Labor government! I have seen the reports and I have seen the number of young men who had their lives brought to a tragic conclusion become lower year on year.

I have seen the number of miners receiving compensation and expert medical care for work related injuries or ailments, including Black lung which tragically claimed my own fathers life. Increase tenfold
I have seen the South of Wales, the area with the highest number of industrial accidents in the entire UK become a safe place to bring up a family and earn a decent wage!

So I pose to you a question, if the results of be general elections were reversed. Would we have these benefits?

So I Implore you to think carefully before you vote. It's the most important choice you could make, I just hope you remember who has treated us so well.

Thank you
