Nobody wins dwarf fortress. The best you can hope for is an entertaining demise.

dwarf fortress is open ended it seems to be a much more limited version of that ( given df has 10 years of development though) the engine is just unique. Sitll looks linteresting could be compared to towns or survivors of ravegnork

Amusingly, this could also generate more interest in Dwarf Fortress as well. Be prepared for the older fans to dismiss this as "DF Lite".
