Thanks for the replies. Glad you're enjoying this. I am too. Lot of fun to write. Sorry it's so slow. This is a busy week at work for me, and then next week , I'm on vacatation. But I'll post as often as possible. Just taking this one slow.

That's some mighty hot territory to fight in and around - the Mojave.

A great scene with Joshua now working as freed man. Excellent. :)

Sorry no updates lately. I'm on vacation right now...in Gettysburg, PA, which, if you haven't been, and are even mildly interested in the American Civil War, I HIGHLY recommend for a 2 or three day trip. Beyond the amazing history that just drenches the area here, it's a fabulous place to just relax. I just now pulled out my laptop and checked out the AAR page. My third day here is wrapping up, then off to Antietam for a day, and then back home. I'll try and get an update soon after.

Thanks for reading.

Just wonderful! :D I love the way you handle the different accents, as well as the cadence and pacing of the people speaking. The change up in styles between narrative, letter, telegraph, article et.al. also works very well for you.

I feel for Joshua. Maybe he should just run for Columbia now.

Well done!

I managed to get out to Gettysburg for a view hours last year when I was stateside. Saw sunset from Little Round Top. Amazing place. Look forward to seeing you on your return!

Any chance for an update, djoker? This was really strong stuff. :)

It'll only take two more wars. Annex all provinces but their capital in the next one, then their capital in the one after that. :D

Good AAR! I have exactly zero sympathy for the Confederacy in real or alternate history, but this story is interesting.

Wow zero sympathy for the Confederacy huh? I guess you had zero sympathy for the Patriots in the American Revolution as well. Jefferson Davis, Robert Lee, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were all fighting for essentially the same thing. The main difference would be that Tom and George were fighting to create a system while Jeff and Bob were fighting to preserve it. Perhaps you just don’t sympathize with out-matched libertarian movements or something. It seems strange to me, but to each his own.

I do agree that the story is interesting.

Splendid AAR! You've got a great sense of character and story going here. :)
