I'd like to see dynasties to have their own opinion modifiers with another dynasty. This way, dynasties with long history of alliances (or feuds) will be accounted for, and if two great houses have been good friends for 200 years their descendants should be hesitant to break that relationship.

I realize this could result in massive numbers being tracked, so let's define scopes first.
- Only account for dynasty members with titles. Because who cares if your random sixth cousin nobodies had a great love affair.
- Exterminated dynasties will have all such information wiped so that the surviving dynasty won't have the baggage of data
- Modifiers only differentiate between Living or Dead members. No time expiration/tracking.

Dynasty Opinion modifiers have the following effects:
- Directly Lessen prestige penalty for marriage between dynasties in good standing, they've historically always had strong ties so there is no criticism or weirdness if one family has since grown larger. This helps promote continual genetic diversity and lessen cousin marriages when your dynasty has grown large.

- Fully modify the opinions from Head of the dynasty towards the other dynasty's members
- Half effect for everyone else who is not the head of the dynasty. (i'm actually not sure if the AI tracks head of the dynasty, if not, then the highest ranked living member)

Positive Modifiers: (First number is for living members, parenthesis for dead members)

Marriage ties - Based on highest SINGLE title held by the partner from the OTHER dynasty (How it benefits your dynasty)
- Partner is an Emperor: +10 (+3)
- Partner is a King: +7 (+2)
- Partner is a Duke: +5 (+1)
- Partner is a count: +1 (0)

Honored Alliance +25 (+5), tracked once per char (each side) only, based on the last honor/dishonor decision only.

Friends, either side is Duke tier and above only: +5 (+1), your family members will know about the friendship and since you are at a respected position, will take into consideration in their dealings with your friend's dynasty. Historical friendships may get chronicled/passed down in stories and affect family disposition albeit to lesser effect than marriages.

Negative Modifiers
(for Dead-related, it's based on if X from the other dynasty is still alive)

Death in battle against X from that Dynasty
- Anyone Count or above: -10 (-2)

Death in single combat against X
- Anyone Count or above: -20 (-5)

Murdered (Successful only)/Executed by X
- Victim is an Emperor: -100 (-25)
- Victim is a King: -50 (-15)
- Victim is a Duke: -25 (-10)
- Victim is a Count: -10 (-5)

Death in Prison of X
- Victim is an Emperor: -25 (-15)
- Victim is a King: -20 (-10)
- Victim is a Duke: -10 (-5)
- Victim is a Count: -5 (-3)

Had a War -25 (-5), (declared or declared upon) tracked once per char (each side) only

Dishonored Alliance -25 (-3), tracked once per char (each side) only, based on the last honor/dishonor decision only.

* Rivalry is specifically not included since there is no need for double hit from actual results.

This is a great idea - if the engine could handle (and, if not, write the CK3 engine so that it can) - it would add a lot more 'continuity' to CK2's gameplay, which while great, does feel a bit repetitive over time. Being able to develop (and destroy) relationships with different dynasties over time adds another mechanic/system that will enrich gameplay (imo greatly). Love your thoughts @Beyond Disbelief.

This reminds me of the "Clan Relations" for the nomads in Horse Lords.

Too bad this system is almost entirely hardcoded and can't be ported to other cultures by mods...

This. Is. Awesome.

This is exactly what the game needs! They say CKII is a dynasty simulator, but the only characters I care about are my current player character, and grooming his heir to be an even better player character. I'm sure there are other players who would agree with that feeling.

This is also A+ awesome for simulating the great families of the Byzantine Empire (and other realms). Marry into a powerful ducal family, populate your realm with yes-men from both sides of the family (this would be a great mod in conjunction with the enhanced dynasty opinion bonus mod), try to stop other families from building their own power bloc or taking power. Or, conversely, strive to prune down or even exterminate existing great families who are too powerful and firmly entrenched against you and yours to ever accept your hold on power.

A great example is the Doukas family of Byzantium. After the first 'high roller' of the dynasty, Constantine X Doukas, achieved supreme power and ascended to the purple, his family intrigued against and brought about the downfall of his successor, Romanos IV Diogenes (who had married Constantine's widow). Constantine's son Michael VII Doukas was then placed upon the throne while his uncle held actual power. When Michael was overthrown by the general Nikephoros III, the Doukai encouraged and supported the rebellion and usurpation of Alexios I Komnenos, who was married into the Doukas family, and initially designated the son of Michael VII as heir apparent!
