Notes
Aegon the VI through a number of means took over the Lordship of the isle of Sunstone in the Stepstones, he would go on to conquer the stepstones and amass a large wealth. During this time Aegon married his sister Daenerys 'Stormborn' and wed his brother Viserys 'The Beggar King' to Margery Tyrell. Most remarkable of all, Aegon hatched the dragon Caraxes. By 8297, Aegon, with the a host of roughly 35,000 Stepstone soldiers and mercanaries at his back invaded Westeros.
House Tyrell, House Martell and House Stark all supported Aegon, while the Riverlands stayed neutral and House Lannister, Baratheon Arryn fought the Targaryen forces. King Robert Baratheon himself was killed at the Battle of Summerhall and his son, Joffery forfeited the crown to Aegon. Upon his victory Aegon was nicknamed "The Victorious" and his eldest son and heir, named for his long since past brother, Rhaegar was born.
Following this Aegon the VI faced few threats to his rule, he had expanded the throne for the first time since Daeron the II brought Dorne into the fold, Aegon the VI brought the stepstones into the fold and handed Lord Paramontacy of the Stepstones to Viserys "The Beggar King".
Caraxes soon after laid a clutch of eggs, Daenerys hatched them as Rhaegal, Drogon and Viserion.
In 8314, Magister Maerys of Tyrosh assassinated Aegon the VI in his sleep putting his son, barely 17 Years of age on the throne.

Notes

Rhaegar the I's first act as king, having ascended to the throne was to tame his fathers dragon Caraxes (by this point Caraxes had 5 Children; Drogon, Rhaegal, Viserion, Baelix and Vassirion, and Baelix had already laid an egg in the possession of the Lord Paramount Consort Jaekar Targaryen of the Stepstones). Riding Caraxes, Rhaegar led the eight kingdoms on a war of bloody vengeance against Tyrosh, Daenerys "Stormborn" atop Drogon, scorched the city of Tyrosh itself and Magister Maerys was fed to Caraxes.
Tyrosh was briefly brought in as another Kingdom, and given to Jon Connington. Within a year, Tyrosh rebelled against the Lord Paramount to restore an elective system and Connington and his wife and children were lynched causing House Connington to go extinct. In response for lynching his Master of Laws, Rhaegar crushed the rebellion but then mercifully allowed Tyrosh to become independent as a series of Lordships.
The most notably, the 'Aztecs' invaded the Summer Isles, led by none other than Mederick Stark, a very distant relative of the Starks of Winterfell. Mederick was related to King Brandon "The Shipwright" who died about 360 years ago. More interestingly these 'Aztecs' had Dragons. About 20 of them all at least 75 years old with the oldest at roughly 160. It was rumored that had the 'Aztecs' invaded Westeros nothing would have stopped them.
In 8335, House Tully, led by Edmure the IV the high lordship of Harrenhall. They ignored a legal command to dissist from King Rhaegar who then attempted to imprison Edmure Tully. The guardsmen sent were slaughtered and Lord Edmure raised his banners in Rebellion. House Arryn and House Baratheon joined the Tullys, while the Starks and Dornish stayed neutral and the Tyrells and Lannisters helped the Loyalist forces. In what was dupped the Second Battle of the Trident, King Rhaegar killed Lord Paramount Renly Baratheon. Rhaegar would then go on to siege Riverun where the lady Catelyn Tully would die bravely fighting Queen Visenya. This rebellion would be come to known as the First River War. Edmure Tully and Robin Arryn would be sent to the wall with their sons taking over their Lord ships.
Shortly after, King Rhaegar invaded the Kingdom Beyond the Wall, quickly annihilating its army and installing Lord Eddard Carrack as Lord Paramount of it. The Kingdom beyond the Wall would prove had to control, for 8 years, constant rebellions and uprisings would occur until King Rhaegar, as he had done with Tyrosh made the Kingdom Beyond the Wall independent. It would quickly descend into civil war and House Carrack's leader, Eddard would be killed and the rest of his house scattered across the Far North. However the Kingdom Beyond the Wall and Tyrosh may have been failures, but Rhaegars next conquest would not be.
In Essos, House Perwyn had managed to invade and take over the Kingdoms of Pentos, Andalos, Qohor and Braavos creating an Northern Essosi Empire. Rhaegar invaded Rhaegar invaded, leading an army with his wife, Visenya Targaryen and his mother Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen behind him. The 3 of them would cut a bloody path through the Essosi Empire and would take the Kingdoms of Andalos and Pentos for the Throne. Rhaegar would rename the Country, the Ten Kingdoms of the Iron Throne and take 'Prince of Pentos' for his royal style.
King Rhaegars luck with the War turned, he fathered 6 children, 5 of whom were males, and after that 3 bastards. These bastards were given Cadet dynasties, House Goldfyre, House Truewyrm and House Redwyrm. Daemon Goldfyre would be made Lord Paramount of Pentos, Lord Haerys Redwyrm was made Lord Paramount of Andalos and Lord Haerys Truewyrm was hand of the king. This luck of Rhaegars however would run out in 8335, with the Second River War.
For years, the Tullys had kept attacking the Lannisters, Starks and Arryns but had always stopped when commanded by King Rhaegar. However in 8335 the Tullys, for the third time attacked the Vale and this time, refused the command to stop. Once again as he had done with Lord Paramount Frederick Tully's father, Edmure who was now Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, Rhaegar sent guardsmen to arrest Lord Tully. Tully raised his banners in response but this time the Riverlands was alone. The North, Dorne, the Reach, the Westerlands, the Stepstones, The Vale, Pentos, Andalos and even the Iron Islands who had been neutral in every war before, would join the Loyalists of King Rhaegar. Lord Frederick however emptied his coffers with Mercenaries creating two hosts of about 35,000 each, a combination of Riverlander Soldiers and mercenaries. Let it be noted that despite the odds, all the Riverlands lords stayed loyal to their Lord Paramount, even if it cost some of them their lives. King Rhaegar raised two armies of about 20,000 and 15,000 from the Crownlands, he led the smaller host alongside his brothers Haegon and Maelys. The Second larger army was mad into a force of fear. The "Army of the Three Queens" it was called. Dowager Queen Daenerys "Stormborn", Queen Visenya and Princess Rhaenys (married to Prince Daegar, the heir) and Queen-to-be led the army. The Army of the 3 Queens would meet Lord Frederick at Harrenhall, and despite being outnumbered 2-1 would defeat the Rogue Lord. During this time, one of the Kingsguard, Janos Frey was advised to be placed in the dungeon as his family fought for the Tullys. This was a mistake as one night, Janos attempted to assassinate King Rhaegar but another Kingsguard, Robb Goldwyne would intervene but was slain by the Oathbreaker. King Rhaegar however beat Janos having been woken up by the ruckus and defended himself killing the Oathbreaker. However not a month later, King Rhaegar would die, fighting a mercenary commander in Riverun. His son, Daegar would ascend to the Throne, and signal a change in direction Westeros and the Ten Kingdoms.

Notes

When Daegar ascended to the throne, the Throne was embroiled in a war against the Riverlands, however despite his fathers death, the battle his father died fighting in was won, and Riverrun was taken. Daegar would then lead his fathers host, of roughly 8,000 Targaryen troops, with 13,000 Lannister troops and 5,000 Baratheon Troops attached making it roughly 26,000 men, against Frederick Tully at the Battle of the Eyrie. Daegar himself killed Lord Frederick in a duel ending the male line of House Tully.
Daegar would name his hand, Lord Haerys Truewyrm, as Lord of the Riverlands. Daegars rule was generally uneventful. A now reunited Tyrosh invaded the Stepstones, but with Dragonfire it was soundly defeated.
By Daegar the First's reign the Iron Throne ruled 10 Kingdoms spanning Westeros and Essos, the Targaryen Dynasty controlled 10 out of 12 Dragons, the other two were controlled by House Goldfyre and House Velaryon, 1 each. Daegar was the First King not to ride Caraxes, instead bonding with Valerion, Caraxes' Sixth child.
Daegar's reign would come to an end however when in 8345 he went travelling abroad, to visit the wonders of the World. On the Journey back from Qarth, King Daegar the First died after only 10 years on the throne due to poor health. His 9 Year old son, Daegar the Second, quickly named "The Young Dragon" was put on the throne under the regency of Dowager Queen Daenerys "Stormborn".

Notes
Daegar II had been placed on the Iron Throne had the young age of 9, earning him the moniker "The Young Dragon" which would stick until he died. His Great Grandmother, Daenerys "Stormborn" was his regent. Right from the start of his 'reign' people sought to place a ruler on the throne quicker, his older sister, Rhaenyra was the obvious candidate. The Faction grew in size until the small council arranged for the leader, Theobald Baratheon to have an 'accident', dismantling the faction. A series of gifts were sent to regain the Lords support as the small council realised the larger threats of Daegar the Seconds reign would not come from inside the realm, but outside.
The realm had been so focused on itself it hadn't dared look past its borders for 50 years. And there had been a great many changes. The only good news for Daegar had been that the 'Aztecs' in the Summer Isles (No longer led by a Stark), had been beaten by rebellion after rebellion after rebellion. They had gone from owning the Summer Islands and the having colonies in the Basilisk Isles to owning three provinces in the northern most Island of the Summer Isles. And whats more only 1 of their dragons remained, the others killed in the Rebellions or scattered throughout Essos where they would be no threat. This was far outweighed by the bad news however.
Volantis has gone on a mighty crusade, taking every city state that remained between the Dothraki and the Iron Throne; Lys, Qohor, etc. (Except Tyrosh) With these city states they declared an Elective Monarchy of the New Valyrian Empire. It was not even led by a High Valyrian. However look further east and you would see why they had done this. The Great Khal Morgo had united the Dothraki, and furthermore died. Save the Dothraki did not splinter. They rallied. around his son, Raggo. And Raggo had an ambition larger than his fathers. He was leading the Dothraki east. Invading Ibben, and Trader Town and soon Yi Ti. The Dothraki were an unstoppable force riding a Thousand Million horses over the mountains and in the valleys of Essos, riding Eastward. But once they reached the edge of the World or a wall they could not break, or a river they could not cross, or a mountain they couldn't go over, what would stop them from turning around and trampling the New Valyria, and perhaps the Realm. When the Hand of the King, Lord Maerys heard this, he reportedly spat on the floor, and said "What is a horse to a Dragon? Food."
New Valyria was not the only empire formed out of fear of the Dothraki, Astapor had conquered Slavers bay and ruled the Ghiscari Empire, Meereen, New Ghis, Yunkai and Lhazar all fell under its banner. Even Slavery apparently doesn't pay well enough to keep the Dothraki out anymore.
A Month before Daegar's 16th nameday and the beginning of when he would truly rule, his Regent and Great Grandmother, Daenerys "Stormborn" died of natural causes. Daegar tamed her mount, Drogon. With her death the last figure of those who lived through Roberts Rebellion and the Targaryen Restoration died. Dowager Queen Visenya ruled now. Daegar II took his sister Rhaenyra as his wife and had a son, Aegon. When he was 18, Daegar's first challenge came, his cousin, Visenya had fled to Yi Ti, had gathered an army of Exiles, Mercenaries and Sellswords and returned riding her Dragon Haerax. Not a single Lord Supported her claim. But few supported Daegar either. With only the Tyrell's on his side, he led an army to the Hook, where Visenya had landed with a host of 30,000 men. A Second host of 8,000 had landed on Claw Isle and Queen Rhaenyra had been dispatched atop Ossenaxes to burn their mongrel hides. In the skies above the Hook, Daegar dueled Visenya, the first time Dragons had fought since the Dance of Dragons, and Dragon, some 30 years older, and 6 times as large as Haerax burned Visenya and her dragon down into the ground leaving nothing but Ashes. Her mock army fled. On Claw Isle Rhaenyra and her host annihilated the Sellswords, leaving not a man alive.
However a raven came from the Stepstones, who had joined Daegar but had never sent their troops, the last Free City, Tyrosh did as it had attempted many times before, invading the Stepstones. However rather than bathe Tyrosh and its armies and Cities in dragonfire again, the Magister of Tyrosh, over the course of a year, was kidnapped and brought in chains to Kings Landing. Tyrosh surrendered but when their Magister returned all that was left of him was returned in a Cremation Urn. He had been burned with Dragonfire.
Year after the Year the assassins kept coming, and every time failed probably due to Lord Haegon Targaryen, the Master of Whisperers. The Maesters have no doubt that Daegar II reign would have ended earlier had Haegon not been his Spymaster.
Daegar II while an unpopular ruler, had only 1 son and 4 daughters, he married all of his daughters to Great Houses, The Starks heir and Young Lord Arryn both married Targaryen brides, and the Tyrell heirs second born son married a Targaryen bride and finally a bastard Martell married a Targaryen Bride (and was legitimized). These marriages secured the fealty and support of these houses for at least a generation.
Daegar II largest threat however would come from beyond the Wall, As the Starks say, Winter was coming. And Winter had arrived. The Wildlings had vanished. The Nights watch discovered why. The White Walkers had come. Intially when the "War for the Dawn" started and 20,000 Walkers marched on the wall, the Nights Watch, with the aid of a few Minor Houses repelled them but for the most part their calls were not believed. However when proof of the threat was brought before Daegar II, he immediately got on his Dragon and led a host of 30,000 to the Wall and beyond. At the Fist of the First Men, Daegar the II fought the White Walkers, and the Fist of the First Men, Daegar II died.

The Dragon of the Dawn

Notes
Aegon was fighting alongside his father atop his Dragon, Baelix the Yellow Beast, when his father was killed by a White Walker. The First Battle of the Fist of the First Men was lost, adding 10,000 wights to the army of the Dead, the wall, later that year fell. For 6 Months the White Walkers consolidated their forces and marched further south taking most of the Provinces bordering their land.
In Kinglanding, Lannister, Dornish and Arryn Forces had joined a Targaryen host of 38,000 bolstering it to nearly 75,000. Riverlander, Tyrell, Pentoshi, Andalosi, Stepstones and Ironborn forces were already marching and sailing North. The Royal Army led by King Aegon VII, who didn't even have time for a Coronation, led the army north along with 9 Dragon Riders. After 4 Years at the Battle of Thenn, Atop Baelix, Aegon the VII killed the Night King. The White Walkers retreated. And the Armies of the South marched back south.
However, the White Walkers did not relinquish their lands. It wouldn't be for 2 more years when Lady Duralia Stark declared a War for the Dawn that The Throne, and its allies would get a chance to push the White Walkers out. This time, the War was on a larger Scale, Word reached Westeros that White Walkers had taken the Five Forts on the edge of the World. The remainder of Yi Ti was marching to fight them alongside the armies of Asshai. It took 3 years, but the White Walkers were destroyed, and sent scuttling back wherever they had come from.
The Piles of dead would not be forgotten, the heirs to the Westerlands had been murdered, 2 Dragons and 5 Targaryens were dead and tens of thousands of soldiers alongside them. The Realm was weakened.
Not a year later, the next threat to Aegons crown would arrive. Stannis Baratheon had been exiled, he had fled to Meereen and his grandson, Robb Baratheon returned with an army at his back and worse, a Dragon. The Old Baratheon pretender had tamed a small Dragon that had been born from one of the Aztec Dragons and named it Sundancer. Not even the Stormlands supported the pretender however. He and his sons landed at Storms End ironically. They quickly took the Castle and marched to meet a Tyrell Host at Summerhall, Aegon VII along with Queen Rhalla and Lord Daekar of Cracklaw Point fought Robb Baratheon at Summerhall, Robb Baratheon was killed in the ensuing Dance and his pathetic attempt to rule over. Furthermore his sons were executed and his grandchildren made hostages.
In the East, the War for the Dawn had a far worse effect than it had in Westeros, The Empire of New Valyria was facing a number of Independence Wars, mostly from smaller duchies however the city of Qohor broke free from the New Valyrians. The Dothraki had seized the opportunity and had also taken large swathes of land from New Valyria and were pushing West. The Ghiscari Empire had been invaded by Qarth and then collapsed as the former slave cities regained independence.
Right before his death, Aegon the VII crushed the only rebellion he suffered, a small peasant uprising in Pentos, he and his heir Rhaenyra, Lady of Dragonstone, flew to Pentos and burned them. Not 2 days later did Aegon the VII die. He left a legacy of a realm on the mend after about 50 years of Turmoil, Rebellions and Foreign invasions. The Targaryens had been left weakened but stronger at the same time. And Queen Rhaenyra would usher in a new age. The Age of the Second Conquest.

Royal Style
First of her name
Queen of the Andals, The Rhoynar and the First Men
Princess of Pentos
Sealady of Braavos
Protector of the Realm
The Black Dragon

Notes
Her Father had left no heirs, and none whom could contest her right to the Throne. To prevent a rerun of the Blackfyre rebellion, or the Dance of Dragons, her father Aegon VII made it clear Rhaenyra was his heir. She had much to live up to, Her father had been the most the loved King in many years. After all, he had won the War for the Dawn, with no small help from Dragonfire. Rhaenyra would be remembered but not for her compassion. Her vassals feared her power, and for good reason. She was named the "Black Dragon" after castrating her first spymaster, and cousin, Aenys Velaryon to prevent him from thinking with his dick. She has been likened to the infamous Tywin Lannister.
However what Rhaenyra is credited with most is the beginning of the second age of Conquest. This started when after the Vale was invaded by Braavos, and soundly defeated, Rhaenyra launched a second campaign to subjugate Braavos. The War lasted two years, Braavos went through three Sealords in those two years, each killed by Dragons. At the end, Rhaenyra rode Baeliphax, The Dark King, to Braavos and burned it. She installed her half brother, the bastard son of Aegon VII, Viserys Crimsonfyre as Lord Paramount of Braavos.
This wouldn't be her last Conquest. The Former Free Cities, Myr and Tyrosh were in open rebellion against New Valyria which was on its last legs. Rhaenyra seized the opportunity and invaded. She named Orys Velayron, a Distant relative of the Driftmark Velayrons, who resided in Kings Landing Lord Paramount of Myr. She named Roswald Baelish (a grandchild of Petyr Baelish) as Lord Paramount of Tyrosh.
The Dothraki, unwisely led an assault on Pentos, Rhaenyra's heir, Daeron personally drove the savages back, in the processes killing their leader, the Great Khal Zelloko, his son however managed to squash several small rebellions before leading the Dothraki as they devour New Valyria.
However, Rhaenyra face threats from inside her own realm as well as out. Her Aunt, Alyssa Targaryen, fled to a foreign court and raised an army of exiles and mercanaries. She returned to the realm on the back of her dragon, Daenoryon a medium sized, strong dragon by its own right. Rhaenyra's mother, the Dowager Queen Rhalla, rode Pythax a smaller dragon, 10 years younger than Daenoryon against her. The peasants say the night never came that night, Pythax was too fast for Daenoryon, and eventually Pythax killed Daenoryon, but not its rider. Alyssa Targaryen retreated to Masseys Hook, sieging the castle. Rhaenyra herself led the army against the Alyassa who dragonless and with a smaller host stood no chance. Alyssa soon learned why the realm feared Rhaenyra, but the lesson didn't last long.
The last notable act of Rhaenyra I was to find a Valyrian steel blade at Summerhall. She reforged it into a short sword named Dragon's Kiss. the New Ancestral Sword of House Targaryen.
She would die, when her balcony collapsed beneth her, plunging to her death. Her son and heir, Daeron, Lord of Dragonstone would become Daeron III.

Protector of the Realm
The Scourge of Ghiscar
Notes
When Daeron received word of his mothers death and his ascension to the Throne, his flew to Kings Landing on Baelix, along with his wife Rhae Goldfyre and his two infant daughters. He immediately ordered his spymaster, who had come also from Dragonstone, Syrea Redwyrm to discover who had killed his mother. It was decided that Lord Hugo Baelish, a distant relative of the Tyroshi Baelishs was the perpetrator and architect of his mothers assassination. He was fed to Baelix. It was not soon after that a messanger came from Volantis, the Triarch of Volantis was offering the New King 1050 Gold Dragons in order to declare a war of embargo on the Ghiscari Empire. Daeron didn't need a second opinion. He gathered his family and cadet houses and all the able dragon riders flew at the head of several armies to Ghiscar. The campaign took 3 years and a hundred thousand soldiers died.
While this campaign occurred the Dothraki did something unprecedented. They came to the Free City of Qohor, now separate from Volantis and the remains of the 'New Valyrian Empire', and they took it for themselves. The Dothraki invaded a Free City, but they would not stop there, by the end of Daeron's reign Ibben and Lorath fell to the Dothraki aswell. Against all odds somehow their leadership maintained power over all of the Khals.
After the first Ghiscari War, tragedy struck, the heir to the Throne Aenys became ill, and soon after died. Daegar became the heir to the Throne. Soon after Prince Aerys Targaryen, Daeron's Great Uncle died of natural causes.
For some time Daeron stopped fighting Wars, his wife Rhae, was fertile and give birth to 5 daughters and 3 sons in total. The First son, Aenys died when he was five and so the second born son, Daegar became the heir.
Something else very interesting occured however, Rhalla Truedrake assembled an army of mercanaries and led her forces atop her Dragon, Likaxes, to the Summer Isles which since the death of the Stark King had been in a state of near constant war. Rhalla took over the entire Empire and named herself Queen of the Summer Isles. The locals rebelled several times by Rhalla had a Dragon, and they stood no chance against it.
in 418 AC, Daeron was given a claim on the Kingdom of Meereen, and tired of securing marriage alliances and resolving squabbles between the High Lords of the Iron Throne he pushed the claim. Once again Daeron rode Baelix to to Ghiscar. He personally burned the colony being built in Old Ghis back into rubble and killed the Emperor of Ghiscar, burning him alive. During this time, he bought a Valyrian Steel Sword and reforged it and named it Dragon's Fury. When the war was done, he named his Daughter, Daenerys Lady Paramount of Meereen instead of another Noble Family and gave her Dragon's Fury, considering his branch and son already had Dragon's Kiss. He was sadly killed during a Tourney at Winterfell. His second born son, Daegar was crowned Daegar the III.

Notes
Daegar was crowned when he was 14, after his dad, Daeron III died at a tourney at Winterfell. Daegar had a short reign, he spent the first year and a half of his reign under the regency of his Cousin, Rhaegar. He initally tamed Baeliphax the Dark King, however only months later Baeliphax died naturally and so Daegar tamed Baelix, who was over 120 by this point and the largest dragon since Balerion the Black Dread and possibly bigger.
During his short reign, he continued the warrior ways of Rhaenyra and Daeron, but in defense of the realm. He put down 6 peasant unprisings. Before in 425 AC his Uncle Laeurion Targaryen, Lord of the Blackwater Rush attempted to kill his daughter, Ceana. Ceana fled to Kings Landing and told Daegar who ordered his Uncle imprisoned. Laeurion refused and staked his claim on the throne instead. Beginning a second Dance of the Dragons.
Laeurion had 2 Dragons on his side, Viserion ridden by him and Liaxes ridden by his second daughter Cynea. Daegar had almost 25 Dragons on his side however. Almost all of the Kingdoms, even the Iron Islands whos Lord Paramount had married on of Daegar's sisters, raised their banners for him. House Tyrell however rebelled. Daegar marched to Blackwater Rush, crushing an army led by Laeurion's Master-at-Arms. He then besieged Blackwater Rush, where he, his mother Rhae and his wife Rhaelinor Truedrake met Laeurion and Cynea. Rhae rode Aegonax and quickly killed Liaxes and crippled Cynea. Daegar met Laeurion and Viserion. The dance took awhile, as Baelix and Viserion were 2 years in difference and despite being younger than his opponent, Baelix was larger. This would prove to be the deciding factor as Baelix would eventually dive into Viserion killing the older Dragon and his rider with him. Laeurion's 9 year old son would take his fathers title under the regency of Laeurion's brother Aelyx. Aelyx, possibly in grief of Anger, escaped the Castle and brought an army, half the size of Daegar's and with no Dragons. However Daegar would end up duelling Aelyx. And while Daegar was strong, and good looking, he was no duelist. Aelyx killed his king and without an heir, the Title of the Iron Throne fell to his brother, Aerys III who was only 10.

Notes
Aerys came into power following his brother's, Daegar III, death. Many feared that Aerys reign may be a repeat of the previous Aerys, Aerys the II, The Mad King. In many ways it was.
Aerys was only 10, and those Ten years were fairly uneventful. It wasn't until Aerys' 8th year on the throne that the first issues came to light. The Targaryen family had grown large, and it had 5 Cadet Houses; House Crimsonfyre, House Truedrake, House Redwyrm, House Goldfyre and House Snowfyre. All but the latter had Lord Paramouncies, Braavos, The Trident, Andalos and Pentos respectively. Furthermore they all had Dragons. Furthermore House Velayron controlled Myr and House Snowfyre had large holdings in the North and both also had Dragons. By this point there were easily close to 70 Dragons (don't ask me how, I have no idea). The 4 biggest; Rhaegal, Baelix, Drogon and Tyriax were all under Targaryen control and all over 130 at this point. Baelix had even grown larger by recorded accounts than Balerion the Black Dread. But this mass of Cadet Houses and Targaryens meant there were dozens of people with claims to the Throne. Throughout his reign, Aerys would suffer 8 attempts to take power by claimants to the Throne.
The First was Rhaeynra Crimsonfyre. She was Aerys cousin, and rode the Dragon Tayrax who was roughly 30 years old. Aerys fought her alone and in the ensuing battle lost only an eye. Regardless Aerys preveilied, but Rhaenyra survived and escaped, but badly burnt. With her army crushed at Masseys Hook (Later renamed Dragons Hook when given to Lord Haerys Targeryen) she surrendered and was taken captive. She would die not two days after surrendering due to her injuries.
5 years later, Baela Targaryen staged a second attempt, this time supported by the Lord Paramouncy of Tyrosh (House Baelish). Baelas army was crushed at King's Landing by a Riverlander army while Aerys sieged Tyrosh. In the end there was no dance between Dragons, but Baela was fed to Aerys Dragon, Ares, the Red King. This was meant as a warning to any who thought they could even attempt another coup. Samwell Baelish was beheaded and his Kingdom given to his 15 year old son.
A Month later, Jaekar Targaryen and Shaera Goldfyre led to seperate attempts for the Throne. Calla Crimsonfyre met Shaera Goldfyre at Braavos when the Goldfyre attempted to take the city, Calla and her mount Jaedos killed Shaera and her mount Vissarex. Meanwhile, at Cracklaw Point, Lady Maega Targaryen, Rhae Goldfyre (Aerys Grandmother) and Aerys slaughtered Jaekar and his 3 year old mount Vyzes. It was after this, that Aerys went mad.
Aerys madness revealed itself, flew knew about it and it was somewhat benine until Aerys passed a law, the 'Hole-in-the-wall Act'. This was when the realm went to sh*t. Over the years, Aerys fought four more unsuccessful coups, each one was backed by Pentos, or Tyrosh or Lys or the Rhoynar or all 4 at one point. However the worst, the largest and the last rebellion was dubbed the War of the fractured Dragon.
Maega Velayron, the heir to Driftmark fled to Yi Ti, and came back at the head of a 35,000 strong army. The Realm had had enough of almost constant warfare. Pentos, The Rhoynar, Tyrosh, and Dorne all backed Maega, there hadn't been any dances since Jaekar Targaryens coup so the Goldfyres had 6 Dragons at their disposal, added to Maega's mount, Ranax. The Reach, however declared independence in the middle of the War with Maega. The Westerlands, Riverlands, Braavos, Stepstones, North Valyria and Meereen and Andalos all backed Aerys. The remaining Kingdoms stayed neutral. Maega's intial host was defeated by Aerys at Dragonstone. Aerys, his heir Aemon and his daughter Rhaenyra burnt Maega's army but Maega was never there. She was at the head of an army with troops from Pentos, the Rhoynar and Dorne. Numbering close to 60,000 in total. Aerys, after winning at Dragonstone immediately departed for Pentos to defeat Meaga. It was at this point the spineless Tyrells saw King's Landing undefended. Additionally Lys (House Connington) declared for Maega, and landed 15,000 troops in the Kings Wood, Dragons Hook and Stokeworth. The Tyrells marched 45,000 troops to Kings Landing, but before they could even siege the city at all, House Tarth and House Tarly (rebelling against their liege lords) both declared for Aerys, and fought the Tyrells at Kings Landing with aid from House Lannister. Houe Frey however then declared for Maega, and the Truedrakes were unpopular with their lords, meaning many of them flocked to help the Freys. Aerys raised his vassals banners in response (all of the Crownlands 'vassals' are Targaryen High Lordships), assembling roughly 30,000 troops. Aerys then sent his Grandmother Rhae Goldfyre, his commander Haegon Goldfyre, and his heir Aemon Targaryen to lead that army to High Garden and crush the Tyrells. On the way to High Garden, a force from House Florent, led by Loras Florent, met Aemon's army. While the Florent army was too small to be of any threat at all to Aemons host, the commander Loras did something noone saw. Loras slew Rhae's Dragon, Thaerax before being scorched by Aemons Dragon, Ivax. Aerys replaced Rhae with Maega Targaryen, the Lady of Cracklaw Point, and then Aemon marched to High Garden, forcing the Tyrell's to capitulate and bundled all of the Tyrells at High Garden, Men, Women and Children alike in chains. Meanwhile in Essos, near Pentos Aerys met Maega's host. Aerys has a smaller host, but her had 6 commanders with Dragons. Maega had 2 dragons. Maega and Daenys Goldfyre both lost their dragons, Sundancer and Nisserax. Daenys also died with her dragon. However the Lady Parmamount of Meereen, Daenerys Targaryen and her mount, Solstice also died. Maega in the end was captured, allowing Aerys to end the war. But the cost of rebellion this time was very high.
Aerys started with the Tyrells, feeding the Lord Paramount, and all of his sons save 1 to his Dragon. Aerys then tortured all the women. Finally he stripped the Tyrells of their Lord Paramouncy, probably in the knowledge that they would never forgive him for this act, and handed Lord Paramouncy of the Reach to House Tarly, who rebelled against the Tyrells in favour of Aerys. Aerys, then executed the Lord Paramounts of the Rhoynar, Dorne and Pentos, feeding all three to his Dragon. He only sparred the Lord Paramounts of Lys and Tyrosh as they were children so the decision was not theirs to make. Then came Maega Velayron. Intially, Aerys was going feed Maega's babes to his Dragon in front of her, but her children were of House Crimsonfyre, who had supported Aerys during the War so he could not touch them. Instead, he locked her up and tortured her before throwing her in the Black Cells. This act brought the 6 Year conflict to a close.
The Realm now feared Aerys and recognized how Formidable he was. However this newfound fear of the One-eyed King would not last long. Aerys would die of stress not a year later, allowing his son Aemon to rise to the throne.
But with Aerys reign over, the Age of the Second Conquest had ended, an an era of instability had begun. For Aemon and his sister had converted to R'hllor, and they were determined to bend the Iron Throne to the Lord of Lights will.

Notes
Aerys III, Aemon's father died of stress in 449. His son Aemon, first of his name ascended to the throne. Most were suprised there wasn't a rebellion on the spot as Aemon didn't subscribe to the Seven, but rather the Eastern God R'hllor. Aemon quickly made his intentions clear, he immediately raised his armies and flew on the back of his young dragon Ivax toward the last free city, Volantis. The others had become Kingdoms under the Iron Throne or were divided by warring Dothraki and small lords. Volantis seperated the Eastern kingdoms of North Valyria and Meereen from the rest of the Iron Throne. Volantis on its own didn't stand a chance. In under a year, as Aemon layed sieged to Old Volantis itself, near Ny Sar in the Rhoynar the Triarch Vogarro III surrendered after being captured. However foolishly he was released and returned to Volantis. When he heard that Aemon intended to hand his titles to the Lady Elyse Mallister (A cousin of the Mallisters who ruled over Seagard.) he was outraged and quicky again raised his armies in revolt against his new king. However enemies of Aemon, who seeked to get what they saw as a heathen off the Throne rallied around him including Aemons own family, the Lady Jaeheara Targaryen, the lady of Duskendale raised her banners against Aemon. The Lannisters, Dornish and most of the Free Cities save Myr raised their banners against Aemon. Even the High Septon stood against Aemon. Aemon was at sea when this news reached him. He quickly landed in the Stormlands, meeting up with Lord Dermot Baratheon and his host. He quickly marched to Duskendale. Jaeheara didn't meet her cousin in the skies, preferring to stay in her keep with her family while her army met Aemon at Rosby. Her meager force of 11,000 was not match for Aemons 55,000 especially with 3 Dragons. But rather than lay down their arms they chose to burn. Jaeheara was then taken captive after Aemon assaulted the Castle at Duskendale. He then set his eyes on Volantis once more flying their personally to meet with his sister Rhaenyra and Uncle Aeryn Crimsonfyre who were leading a host of 37,000 to Volantis. He sent his wife Alysanne to take the host of 55,000 to Casterly Rock. When Aemon arrived at Volantis, forces from all over the Iron Thrones kingdoms had already congregated. Volantis soon fell.
Aemon was quick to decide on a punishment. He pardoned Jaeheara and took her heir as a captive. He then had the High Septon, the former Triarch Vogarro III and his sons brought before him and burned them all as sacrifice to R'hllor. This scared many of the Lords in the Kingdom making many like Lord Torrhen Stark and Prince Oberyn II grow to hate Aemon. But they stayed loyal out of fear. However Aemons own family didn't share this fear. A distant cousin, Aelyx Crimsonfyre laid his claim to the Throne in 455 AC, he quickly found an arrow in his heart. Then Rhaelle Targaryen fled to New Ghis and laid her claim, hatching a small dragon, Rainbow. Rather than wait for his cousin to come to Kings Landing, Aemon raided Ghiscar himself, killing Rhaelle in a dance which resulted in Ivax ripping the 2 year old dragon into a million little bits above New Ghis.
However as they say, Third times the charm. in 460 AC, another cousin, Mathis Targaryen set upon Aemon himself, driving his sword through Aemon, killing the King. The Kingsguard quickly subdued Mathis. But it was too late. Aemon was dead to the silent relief of many High Lords. And his son, Viserys was not as much as zealot as his father.

Welcome to the forums and to AAR-writing!

So the Targaryens are back in force, more powerful than ever, and now Daenerys gets what feels like will be her last chance in the limelight during the regency.

That is quite a successful set of Targaryen rulers.
thats why i decided to make an AAR out of it, Im on Daegar the II currently and theres alot of instability to come to say the least.

I realise you have said in the librAARy update thread that you edit the main thread for better aesthetics, but the downside of that is I hadn't realised you had updated this at all.

The way people generally follow AARs is by subscribing to the thread, either by clicking "Watch Thread" or by posting to it (thereby automatically watching it). However, this only fires on new posts, not on post edits.

The way around this, if you wish to keep the entire AAR in the first post, is to nevertheless make an additional post everytime you update the first post, that will folks like myself will know to take a look.

As to the story itself - it very much looks like Fire is in the Westerosi future :D

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep in it mind ;)

Well this was an interesting ride. I tend to not be a great fun of AAR that summarize the events of a ruler's reign, but this is clearly an exception, since it kept my attention.

I will definitely sub to this.

its been awhile and i've been busy but the King is dead! Long live the King!
