Here it is another dev.diary for upcoming version of TBL mod.

In one of previous Dev.Diaries we have covered the events of 2nd Sino-Japanese war.
This dev.diary will follow the political complications that start in Republic of China after the defeat in war.
After the defeat internal problems in Republic of China increase.
At start of 1938. Soviet decision to support the revolutionaries in East Asia could add fuel to the fire of unrest:

A month later, Communist revolutionaries in Mongolia and Xinjiang start a revolution against the Republic of China and proclaim independence:

Soviets immediately ally with the revolutionaries, while China can chose to military intervene, thus starting the war with USSR:

After the success of revolutions geopolitical situation in China is like this:

A month later officers led by Marshal Zhang Xueliang organize a plot against the Chiang Kai-Shek:

If Chiang is deposed and killed, Zhang starts the negotiations about unification with DR China:

DR China then annexes Republic of China, while, Zhang Xueliang becomes Chief of the Army in DR China:

Here it is another dev.diary for upcoming version of TBL mod.

Dev.Diary 18
In one of previous Dev.Diaries we have covered the events of French defeat in early stage of WW2 and occupation by the Allies.
This outcome leads to different Cold War set-up, G.Britain and German Empire against the USSR and USSA.
Full scale war might erupt a few years later, when Soviets support revolutionary groups in Poland. After the defeat of 1939/40. Poland is under German control/occupation and many Poles turn their support to Communism. Poles might start the revolution against the Germans which USSR supports and German military response lead to war between Allies and Soviets:

If the Soviets reach Berlin the revolution happens in France, where Communists starts the rebellion against the Allies. If USSA is also at war with the Allies, there is option to chose which faction leads the revolution - pro-Soviet or pro-American:

When the Soviets defeat the Allies they create puppet states based on existing events.
If the Allies defeat the Soviet Union and the Soviets lose control of major cities than triggers event for surrender:

British and German Empire divide control over the puppet-states between themselves:
British controls the Finland, Caucasus, while, Germans control Baltic States, Belarus, Ukraine and Cossacks.
Very reduced but restored Russian Empire becomes the part of Allies, it also gets large restrictions of military technologies and building of units.

If Ottoman Empire is part of Allies they get Caucasus. Also, for same reason Romania gets Moldova (both like in events for Axis victory), Scandinavia gets Finland and Karelia, while, Persia gets Turkmenistan.
If Democratic China (Nationalist cannot be part of Allies) is member of the Allies then they occupy land around Baikal lake and Primorsky Kray, while, Japan annex land on north-east and Kamchatka:

If USSR lose land in west and east then month after peace event is triggered about collapse of government.

Russia Empire can use this opportunity to annex remains of USSR with Allied support:

Allies impose on Russian Empire that Turkestan can't be under direct Russian control so it becomes the puppet-state of the Empire:

Maybe Siberian Russia could collapse into a few infighting warlord states? I doubt that Germany would allow her puppet to own so much land - the bigger a puppet is, the harder it is to control it.

In this outcome Russia is not German puppet. It is independent defeated country with restrictions on economy and military - something similar to OTL Weimar Republic.

We are at the moment taking the new patch through the testing phase, there's likely some fixes to do afterwards.

- Improved event for start of Mexican Civil War, now revolutionary leaders and ministers are removed for Mexican Empire when the civil war starts.
- Reworked event for building of Atlantic Wall. Now it is built in three sequences/events.
- Changed name of Korea (tag KOR) to Korean Empire from start of the game.
- Soviet military doctrines changed from Blitzkrieg to Mass Combat (Credits to Denchikus for suggestion that turn out very practical).
- Removed reinforcements bonus for player controlled France at start of Operation Charlemagne to prevent player being OP (since player can relocate other troops to Polish-Soviet border).
- USSR now breaks the alliance with USSA after the surrender to the Axis or Allies.
- France and Allied powers can now only declare war and make peace with USSR if they are not puppet-state.
- If Poland is annexed by USSR earlier it can now get independence as Communist Poland in Confederalisation of USSR event-chain.
- The IC reductions for puppet-states set to -10 for all in the setting up the puppets events.
- Removed IC reduction for Communist Portugal after the victory in Civil War.

For this new version we can recommend players to try playing with Germany, Japan or USSR which have some interesting new event-chains. Also try new battle-scenarios as they offer different playstyle than classic campaign.

That's not all! This new version won't be the only update of TBL this summer as we already have another update under development. Stay tune for more information next week.

Hello, first thing to say, it's amazing to see the mod being updated. I really enjoy this mod a lot and the lore is amazing.
Just tried a Japan game right now and so far I'm by December 1938:

  • I advanced through Manchuria and eventually landed on Shanghai and moved to Nanjing, but, well, no matter what I did I couldn't trigger the decision "The Chinese are defeated!" (55037) and I thought I had to take more land...but nope, no matter what I did I couldn't trigger it so I went for full annexation after beating them up.
  • Considering that I won...should I liberate "DR of China"? Or shall I establish other puppets? Asking so I don't break any chains haha.
  • I wasn't able to see the reason for it, but Socialist Portugal lasts like... a day, before being annexed. So maybe they lack troops or something?
  • Is Korea capable of reinforcing their troops? I noticed at the start they have some depleted divisions, but after a long time of fighting they don't seem to be reinforcing their divisions, is it intended?
Those are the only things I've noticed by now, totally enjoying it.

Something just popped up in the back of my mind, it could be that this was already fixed since I haven't played the new version yet, but Poland recieves some troops at the start of the war via a mobilization event I think, but one of those units spawns in Gdynia, which is of course owned by Germany, it has made me reload too many times as I use the airfield there to base some of my planes and it's just annoying as it is also a guaranteed lost division for the Polish

Just downloaded the new version, started a game as Germany and I noticed that the new divisions I'm building default to the generic name list

Edit: I also chose superior firepower in the opening doctrine event for Germany, whilst it did research the tech for me I'm still locked into researching mobility

Thank you @J_Master we'll take care of that!

As usual, we tried to fix to more stuff possible after doing our own test runs but there's always a number of them that gets through!
Everybody can report any bugs or errors related to the new version here. The more there are, the more corrections we'll be able to make. We will try to release a hotfix this weekend.

I'll take the opportunity to thank the community for its warm reception of v0.6.3. It's not always easy to do this and your feedback keeps us going!

- We still don't have events that consider total occupation of China by Japanese in 2nd Sino-Japanese War.
- Outcome of Portuguese Civil War is random so in each game chances for victory of Socialist Portugal are different.
- We will check about Korea.

I notice that there would some new monarchies that establish by Britain,German or France in Eastern Europe and Finland. I have suggestion about the new king of Finland.

German candidate: Fredrik Kaarle I and his sons.

Franch candidate (Bonaparte): Prince Peter, the son of Marie Bonaparte.

Franch candidate (Orléans): Prince Aage or Prince Axel, the sons of Princess Marie d'Orléans.

British candidate: Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark or Prince George of Battenberg.

Something just popped up in the back of my mind, it could be that this was already fixed since I haven't played the new version yet, but Poland recieves some troops at the start of the war via a mobilization event I think, but one of those units spawns in Gdynia, which is of course owned by Germany, it has made me reload too many times as I use the airfield there to base some of my planes and it's just annoying as it is also a guaranteed lost division for the Polish
That new divisions for Poland at the start of WW2 are there from the v0.5. I think that previous developers considered that a kind of uprising by local Poles when the war starts. We could change to some other provinces without airfields to prevent aviation loss.
Just downloaded the new version, started a game as Germany and I noticed that the new divisions I'm building default to the generic name listView attachment 717062
Edit: I also chose superior firepower in the opening doctrine event for Germany, whilst it did research the tech for me I'm still locked into researching mobility

I tried a game as the Soviet Union , and after France defeated the Germans, nothing really happens in regards to an invasion of Russia. Maybe Germany should be puppeted in the peace deal and then used as a spring board for invading the Soviet union? Alternately, if the radicals are in power (as it was the case) you could have a much more agresive foreign policy. Also I think is a bug but the manpower law was moved by an event to a higher mobilization level without giving the manpower. Also repetable decisions only pop one time.
