When you are Emperor and hold the Kingdom of Cyrodiil, your Cyrodiilic vassals tend to create the Oblivion counties corresponding kingdom titles (Kings of Anvil, Bruma, Kvatch, etc). I find this particularly unimerssive. Two possible solutions would be forbidding the creation of titular titles if the de jure high kindom exists or, like the GOT mod does for the Lord Paramounts, having a mechanic that changes these kings into nominal "counts", without crowns and without being called kings. The second option would be useful if you want to organize your vassals into super dukes to mimic the game's de jure setup.
 
It probably has already been suggested multiple times, but extending the timeline to include the Merethic Era in history so some of our favorite missing characters like Gelebor and Vyrthur can be added and given their proper age.
 
There's only three and a half thousand years of history across all of Tamriel to make up in between the Merethic Era and 2E 450 start date. I'm sure that if we started now, it would be ready in time for Victoria IV.
 
It is often forgotten just how long some periods of history in Tamriel are, even by Bethesda. As a comparison point, Nerevar's death is as far into the past to the people in the current start date as the independence of Carthage from Tyre is to us - and that was several centuries into the First Era.

So, in the lore a lot of people (all of the septim dynasty bar two afaik) lit the dragonfires without actually being related to a known dragonborn. Since the mod's firelighting event (a.flavour8) is quite binary in terms of what permits a successful lighting of the fires, I figured I would edit it to reflect the possibility of Akatosh deeming an individual worthy of upholding the Covenant and thus being capable of lighting the dragonfires and wearing the amulet of kings (as he must have done with at least one of the septims and katariah). Criteria are quite strict (imo).

I might rework it into a random list check, but at the same time I'm not sure.

Would be kinda neat if you could ask the high chancellor of the elder council to coronate you under the right circumstances, too.

As an aside, are there any other Aedra worshiping religions that should be able to light the dragonfires, other than the Eight/Nine Divines?
I wasn't sure about whether to include the elven pantheon, because Akatosh's command says "Obey your Emperor, Worship the Nine (presumably the Eight, previously), listen to (the clergy)", which seems like encouragement of the imperial cult. Alessia also founded the Eight Divines pantheon, and she was the one with whom Akatosh made the Covenant originally. Presumably there was some understanding there. Akatosh also seems to like men more than mer, at least if we are to take his canon choices for dragonborn as any indication.

Part of it was also that I wanted the criteria to be quite strict, such that the person wouldn't really have/be anything Akatosh could object to, including in some sense being a religious deviant. Hence why the Marukh heresy isn't accepted either.

I thought Alessia was the only dragonborn of Akatosh, while the rest were Lorkhans soul reincarnations. Mainly because Alessia was blessed with the dragon blood as opposed to being born with it from what I remember of the lore. Lorkhan definitly has a man bias, what with the fact he keeps leading wars to kill mer all the time in the lore.

Never heard this before. UESP and Teswiki both say it's a blessing from Akatosh. Lorkhan isn't mentioned anywhere.

From what I can tell, the Khajit at least worship the Aedra, along with the Ailmer pantheon. Though both do not do so exclusively, with deadra and ancestor worship included respectively. If religious reformations get in with the option to choose pantheons, at the very least I think it should be possible for new covenants to be made with Akatosh so they'd be viewed as valid alternatives. I should check the Yunkai and eastern pantheons at some point, see if appropriate Aedra worship is in there.

That would be cool. I'm actually creating a second version of the event which uses a random check instead, so I might make it more flexible there too.

in kirkbrides stuff its heavily heavily implied that talos + all the players are lorkhan somehow confusing

I checked through the religions in the game, and only the Eight/Nine Divines, Alkosh and Riddle'thar religions explicitly worship Akatosh. The later two claim to follow a different individual but we can safely say that Akatosh probably isn't too bothered by that. Alkosh rulers can even take him as their personal patron, though Riddle'thar cannot for some reason. Possibly that's a bug. Most of the other religions worship their own perceived creators and creation myths. Nothing specific about whether or not the Aedra respect or respond to those prayers though.

There'd need to be some sort of executive decision on each to determine if the group in question is worshiping some aspect of Aedra or not for mechanical purposes.
