Yeah, that wasn't clear. I assumed that since the characters knew about After Everything this took place after after everything.
But also, in that one, wasn't it stated that Earth was relatively new to the galaxy when they joined in the big destruction Armageddon war thing that Jericho ended? were humans kidnapped from Earth ala Stargate SG-1 or Traveller or whatever and spread to other worlds?
Your guess was right: Faith in Chaos is the second part of the story, chronologically. The reason for that isn't going to be revealed for a while, though. Wait a few chapters and you'll see what's up. The "connection" between the two stories will be fleshed out more as Faith in Chaos goes on. Mami, Eteka, and Tantomile only knew about After Everything while they're answering comments. I thought it would make comment-responses a little more streamlined. I'll tweak their ignorance levels going forward; make their answers conform to cannon.
As for the Humans, yes, they fully joined the Second Hyperspace War long after it started. They became a full-fledged star nation in 2036 A.D.
*The Snowskins are a tribe of people who lived on Partoga 400 years ago, same species as the Partogans themselves. Both groups appeared on the planet quite suddenly about 500 years ago. No one knows how either group got there, and for a very long time, neither group knew they'd been transplanted. The Snowskins were wiped out in their entirety by both the explosion of the Unnamed Mountain and subsequent Wars of the Famine 413 years before Faith in Chaos. (687 years before After Everything)
Did Blake just say he was gonna lobotomize us!?
