Hello everyone and welcome to another Stellaris development diary! This one is just a short update to let you know what's going on in the development team and what you can expect in the coming weeks and months. As we just released Distant Stars this week, we will now be entering into an extended period of post-launch support with a rolling beta patch similar to what we did after the 2.0 release, both to sort out any issues with the 2.1 launch and to give us time to work on older bugs, QoL improvements and so on. We expect to have the first version of the rolling beta out early next week, with OOS fixes, a fix for starting planets sometimes spawning far away and some other priority issues sorted out.

All of this means that feature dev diaries will be taking a break, and instead we'll be focusing on simply giving you a weekly update on the rolling beta and notable additions or fixes (if any) that we are doing. Feature dev diaries will resume at some point in the summer, when we should be ready to start talking about the next major thing.

For now though, I'm going to end this dev diary with a screenshot of a 'limited victory' mechanic that we're introducing for Subjugation and Ideology wars in the rolling beta. See you next week!

Any chance we could also get the ability to use the Ideology CB even with unrestricted wars?

This. So much this.

Also, amazing patch and Story Pack. Keep up the brilliant work wiz, and the rest of the Stellaris team!

How's that going to work when you don't have any planets occupied yet?

You must have at least one planet occupied to be able to break off a new empire.

there are no pop migration in my current 2.1 game, anyone have same issue? i see migration in process symbol for a moment but suddently the pop aborted the migration.

What determines whether the breakaway empire will be an ally or a subject? Its strenght? If so, will it be possible to have a clearer idea of when it will be independant?

guess the tooltip is a standard text used for both subjugation and impose ideology wars. partial subjugation would become a vassal, partial impose ideology would become an ally.

Gentlemen

Is it possible to turn your attention to the rival mechanic?

The new map generation has severely limited the ability to rival other empires as we have to have a connected hyperlane

Is it possible to have the mechanic mimic how it was in 1.9?
Or perhaps a hyperlane range?

.... it's nice but I would still rather have liberation wars back.

And/Or an extension by defensive pact/ally/vassal...

Thank you, Martin! Improved war mechanics are always appreciated. Keep your team hunting down those bugs as fast as you can. It will help out the modders a lot, too.

Any chance we'll see auto-exploration of Natural Wormholes added to the Science Vessel auto-exploration behavior? Scrolling around the map to find them and manually order their exploration in the mid-game is a pain in the backside.

Thanks!

Could you please as part of this post release support cut out some of the more annoying random events?

Like pops of a new colony randomly converting to opposing ethics ("Trouble in Paradise"), or one of the many events making your scientists "paranoid"?

Well, it´s about time that you focus in fixing the ton of issues with the game instead of creating new content to get more money. As it is now I can´t even play it due to bugs
