Chapter 1487

Before we conclude this meeting, I have something I will provide you once you leave. Tommy, these are simple designs your people will need to better survive the many challenges offered by this planetary system. Do note that these improve your chances of survival but they won't guarantee your survival. You must still tread carefully in these parts for there are dangers that I might not be able to protect you from. Missteps could easily wipe out your people so keep that in mind.

You Langobards have quickly built the communication devices that allowed you to overcome the jamming devices scattered throughout this planetary system. You now know the location of your people with all of you scattered across the two planets, Paithea and Thiea. The two planets are your homes for now but there will come a day when you Langobards must leave here. That time hasn't come but it will come eventually. Before that day, your people must work hard in preparing yourselves for the departure.

There is one promise I can keep for you. Your people will return to Earth once you depart from these parts. That was the home your ancestors evolved on and would be the very place where you will go through with your final evolution. I must warn you that there are new inhabitants living on Earth but they aren't hostile towards you. I am certain that you Langobards could negotiate with them on how to inhabit the planet. Luckily, they aren't very numerous so there shouldn't be too many problems there.

Opho, you should leave now and inform your people. Each artifact takes awhile to remove from their location. You Uayg, while not servants of my brother, could still be viewed by the artifacts as intruders so you might be harmed if you aren't careful. Tommy, our meeting ends here and I thank you for coming. Take the designs to your people so they could begin the projects. We have plenty to do and not enough time. Carry on in leading your people and I will call you if another meeting is needed.

Chapter 1488

Tommy found himself back in the smaller chamber with the Uayg called Opho. She smiled at him and waved her hand before bringing out a device that opened a portal. Once she stepped through the portal, Tommy was all alone in the chamber with the artifact. He recalled everything the Celestial Crystal told him and only then realized that he had more papers in his hand. He stared down looking at the relatively thick stacks of blueprint designs provided by the Celestial Crystal to spur their advances.

Tommy made his way out of the temple as he headed home with great excitement. While he wasn't willing to admit it, he looked forward to seeing Opho again. It wasn't exactly attraction like what he felt between him and Kat. Rather, he liked the companionship of Opho as a friend who came in their time of need. Tommy understood why Opho was selected to aid the Langobards. Her charisma would be vital in bridging the gap between the Langobards and Uayg so the two races could strive for a brighter future.

When he returned to the Ark, Tommy immediately handed the engineers responsible for the communication device the new blueprint designs. He wanted them to figure out what the designs could accomplish and put it to work immediately. The sooner they could make prototypes, the sooner they could progress to the next step. From what he learned from the Celestial Crystal, Tommy was quite certain that there were more technologies and designs awaiting them in the very near future.

When he shared with the other Langobards regarding his meeting with an Uayg, there were mixed reactions amongst the Langobards. Some argued that this was an opportunity to bridge the relations caused by misunderstanding in the past. Others expressed their hesitation to trust the Uayg who might still wish them harm. There were even those who suspected that the new artifact might be setting up a trap to have them fight for it before eliminating them with the Uayg.

Chapter 1489

Later that day when Tommy handed the engineers the blueprint designs, he was informed the designs involved new engines and thrusters meant to provide them mobility. This was quite welcoming for the Langobards who assumed that they were stuck where they crashed for an indefinite amount of time. With the new designs, there was hope that they could possibly reach the other Langobards and allow for quickly transfer of ideas and goods to speed up the development involving all Langobards.

Late at night when he finished resolving all the issues associated with his position, he sat in bed with Kat who was reading a book. He decided to share with her his reaction towards the Uayg called Opho. Kat listened patiently for her husband to finish before joking about how he wished to take an Uayg as his wife. The two of them joked around a bit but it was all good-natured. There was no real reason for a divorce between them since they love each other and their children greatly.

For the Langobards, there was never any incentive for divorce. Care was taken when one looked for a spouse so there wouldn't be any unhappy marriages. There might be a few rare cases where the two sides aren't happy about the arrangement but, over time, affection and love can arise from the daily interactions. Except for unfortunate accidents where one's spouse die or go missing, Langobards generally stay with their other half until their own death at old age. Should an unfortunate accident happen, Langobards can remarry much like what Derek did.

Tommy and Kat both had great hope for the future. They were part of the generation to be interacting with the Uayg and trying to create understanding between the two races. At one point, they were considered enemies for life by all complex lifeforms in the universes who were aware of their existence. It was well known that the Uayg couldn't stand humans and looked to eradicate them for good. It made sense that the Celestial Crystal would be the artifact to bridge the two races through diplomacy and interaction as opposed to using force despite its hand in the deaths in the past.

Chapter 1490

What Tommy and Kat hoped for, much like what the majority of the Langobards in the new planetary system hoped for at the time, was to leave the past in the past. There was no use pondering about the past when they had so much awaiting them in the future. Being entrapped in the past meant they couldn't decide their best course of action for the future resulting in unideal situations to arise. To move forward meant they must put behind the misunderstanding and the deaths that arose from unfortunate turn of events.

One could always go very far back to the days on Earth when the two empires, Langobards and Rome, existed. There was belief that the two empires would eventually be in a series of wars where one of them would be wiped out. What happened was, through a series of events, the two nations managed to remain relatively passive against one another. There were interventions during rebellions within Roman territory but the history books only recorded the two wars that dated back to the Antiquity Era.

The borders might have changed between the two empires but there was no intentions of wiping out one another. The Langobards continued moving forward while giving a hand to the Romans from time to time. Entering the Industrial Age and Modern Age, the Langobards empire could easily crush the Roman nation to unify all of Europe under a single flag. Yet, that wasn't what happened. The two sides coexisted and aided one another in building a better future.

Through secret documents, there was evidence that the Romans played a role in the Langobards' first Moon landing. They apparently shared some of their breakthroughs that made the attempt possible. This fact was never revealed due to the a secret agreement between the two governments. The Romans didn't want this to be well known or they might be forced by their people to enter a race to colonize space. Rome wasn't in the best of conditions at the time and desperately needed aid from Langobards so antagonizing the empire wasn't on their agenda.

The possibility of returning to Earth is exciting. I wonder how much it has changed.

Rome working with the Langobards! No wonder the Roman government kept that a secret at the time. :D

We won't be returning to Earth just yet so I have some time to think it over. More paint maps! :D

Chapter 1491

The Langobards engineers assigned to the blueprint designs went to work immediately. They understood the importance of their new task and scheduled their days so they used the minimal amount of time for sleep and other basic functions while much of their day was used for work. The Langobards engines at the time were using fusion reactors which, while powerful, couldn't work properly in the new planetary system. The new designs entered the field of electromagnetic force.

The basic ideas behind the field was simple in that the engines would be using the magnetic field from the planets to power the ships. This was a largely unexplored field for the Langobards who only went as far as the magleve trains. For maglev trains, they traveled along a guideway where magnets were used for lift and propulsion. These were essentially an advanced form of trains that were first used on Earth and later used on Rohiri until the evacuation.

What changed with the new design was that ships were expected to utilize the magnetic field generated by the planets themselves. The magnetic field generated by planets differed from the one produced by magnets which meant the Langobards had to use resource to learn about the changing magnetic field on their new planet and its relations with the orbit around the two stars. The Langobards needed a lot of data since the blueprint design had the actual design but lacked the numbers needed to build a prototype almost instantly.

The Langobards saw this as a way of the Celestial Crystal teaching them the design while requiring themselves to be thinking hard for the actual solution. Without actual data to back them up, the Langobards would have a hard time making the prototype working as intended. There were trial and errors regarding the communication device but, after several tries, there was finally success. The Langobards believed the process with the new idea would be relatively quick if they put their heads into it.

Chapter 1492

In addition to the project involving electromagnetic engines and thrusters, Tommy was also interested in the young girl called Joan. He heard from Derek about her request that he would approve her holding onto a piece of the Celestial Crystal. When he asked the artifact, it said that this was indeed its wishes so Tommy passed the word to Derek who didn't sound too happy about the response. It was obvious that the two of them didn't get along too well.

Despite his attempts, Tommy had a tough time getting more information from Derek. He understood that Joan somehow became the fiancee of Sean, the son of Derek. Tommy knew clearly that Derek would have spoiled his son rotten if it weren't for his wife who was more disciplined in raising a child. Of course, he knew little else except for Derek's disapproval towards his future daughter-in-law. The fact that she was named a priestess helped a bit but there was still a belief that Derek had in his son getting a better wife.

On the topic of priestess, Tommy couldn't help but think back to Adelisa. The little girl, when he first met her, was just escaping her home which was attacked by the Uayg. He was certain that she would never agree to working with the Uayg. She had many strong traits but the past sacrifices and losses could easily blind a person from proper judgement. Tommy wondered how she was doing since they spoke to her through the Celestial Crystal for a brief moment.

The Celestial Crystal refused to consider the idea of another conversation fearing that it might be intercepted. Adelisa's fiancee, knowing that reunion was basically impossible, already found a new woman and, according to what he last heard, they were married with two children. The Langobards were moving on since the separation through the warp created by the Celestial Crystal. They were walking a different path that will no doubt one day converge with the path of the other Langobards.

Chapter 1493

The Langobards had plenty to worry about as they kept what the Celestial Crystal told him close to their heart. There were indeed dangerous things out there that wouldn't hesitate in killing Langobards. Tommy still thought back to whether or not he could have prevented the Langobards from following Allan to their deaths. He constantly wondered if there was something he could have done where the artifact could be accepted and innocent lives wouldn't be lost.

If someone had asked Tommy if he had regrets, he would definitely bring up this incident without hesitation. He, as the leader of the few Arks that crashed in the vicinity, was responsible for all their well being. The fact that he was powerless in stopping them from leaving and, ultimately, heading into their doom was a stain on his record. The official records might not show it due to the other Langobards calling it an unfortunate accident but Tommy would also recall the stain whenever he entered his office.

Tommy could have easily been very depressed with him blaming himself for everything. Yet, there were things that kept him going and, most importantly, kept him preoccupied so he didn't have time to think about the past as much. There was his wife who was always supporting him and willing to talk with him about issues he felt uncomfortable sharing with others. Then, there were his three kids who were growing up rather quickly. For Tommy, it seemed almost yesterday that they were still infants he held in his arms trying to coo them to sleep.

Tommy's son was busy finding his other half. He was a bright boy who was well liked by many. He wasn't quite the same caliber as Sean but definitely a popular male on the Ark. Tommy's two daughters were also reaching the age where they might be paying attention to guys and finding a potentially good husband. He was tasked to giving his son advice while Kat would be dealing with their two daughters. Until their children settled down with families, Tommy and Kat felt they still had plenty to worry about.

Chapter 1494

As the engineers were nearing the completion of the first prototypes involving the probes, Tommy was informed by the Celestial Crystal that he was requested at the temple. Tommy quickly relayed his journey to his coworkers who would be taking over while he was gone. Then, he went to the warehouse where he grabbed the necessary tools and supplies for the journey to the temple. At these times, he really wished that they still had vehicles at their disposal for greater mobility on the planet.

One must remember that all the vehicles were taken by Allan and the Langobards who followed him. They met their untimely design with the vehicles they took somewhere in the wilderness which wasn't safe for humans. The Langobards definitely had the equipment and resources to build additional vehicles but it would be a waste for the journey to the temple. The journey, while rather bothersome, was still very doable and was a good workout for Tommy who hasn't been visiting the gym as much as he wanted.

The resources used for these vehicles could be used elsewhere when the Langobards had such a limited region to work with. They had no way of acquiring more resources so they must be conservative with what they had. The limited region to move around also made the uses of vehicles so limited that they were likely to collect dust. Tommy, once he acquired everything he needed, headed out for a familiar journey to the temple as he looked forward to what the Celestial Crystal had awaiting for him.

Unlike his other journeys, Tommy encountered a sandstorm this time forcing him to bring out his tent for shelter. The tent was meant to be used as his sleeping quarters in the wild if he couldn't return back to the Ark in time should something come up. This was the first sandstorm Tommy experienced but, having went through some courses in the past regarding possible situations in the wild, Tommy was able to remain calm and setup the tent allowing him the wait out the storm with little trouble.

Chapter 1495

Once the sandstorm passed, Tommy was glad to be on the road again. The sandstorm was definitely a minor setback as he wasted several hours in the wilderness. Luckily, he was well prepared so there weren't any dangers associated with the sandstorm. When Tommy exited his tent, he also noticed that the terrain around him has changed. The sandstorm did a good job rearranging the sand dunes so there was no way for him to follow the old route where he used the dunes as landmarks.

Tommy found it coincidental that he brought a new device with him. The device essentially worked as a compass with its pointer always aimed at the Ark. Using the device, he could determine the location of the temple since he was moving in a straight line. If he does get lost, he could also communicate with those aboard the Ark to pinpoint his location and give him directions to his destination. Overall, the sandstorm was more of a nuisance than anything.

With the help of his new device, Tommy arrived at the temple a few hours later than he anticipated at the start of the his journey. At the entrance, he wasn't surprised one bit to see Opho waiting for him. Upon seeing him, Opho waved with a smile that almost melted Tommy's heart. Tommy took a deep breath to maintain his composure before walking towards her. Then, he noticed that she had something resembling headset on her head. To his surprise, she was speaking his language rather fluently.

"We understand that you were trapped in the sandstorm so we were patiently waiting for your arrival." Upon seeing Tommy's expression, she laughed. "I know what you're thinking. You wonder how we are communicating when we couldn't in the past except in the presence of the Celestial. This headset is what translates my language to yours and vice versa. The Celestial worked with my people to get the translations programmed so we could communicate easily between ourselves."

Chapter 1496

When Tommy asked a question regarding Opho's use of we, Opho nodded in acknowledgement. "Yes, I wasn't misusing your pronouns. I'm not the only Uayg sent by the Celestial to come to aid you Langobards. There are eleven others from various fields who will be present. They are currently resting in the temple waiting for your arrival. We know where your ship is but we thought it might be wise to not show up unannounced. Last thing we want is to be seen as potentially enemies."

Opho led Tommy down the narrow passageway until they arrived at the large chamber where the other eleven Uayg were waiting. Opho introduced all of her companions to Tommy and was quite amused seeing Tommy try to pronounce their names through the translator. Once the introductions were done, The entire group went to the smaller chamber to speak with the Celestial Crystal. Opho said that the artifact had some information it wished to share before they headed to the Arks.

Tommy, I know it might overwhelming to meet so many Uayg. As you can see, they are unlike what you Langobards imagined when you first heard about them from my brother. My brother wished to paint the worst picture possible about the Uayg so that fear controls you Langobards. He wanted the fear to be your driving force in your advances so, for the sake of survival, you had to move forward. He has succeeded as, even now, the other Langobards corrupted by him are moving steadily forward in technological advances.

They have befriended the Uddyx who is a powerful alien race that has been growing stronger year after year. My brother knows how to choose the mentors for the other Langobards. Your people will be mentored by the Uayg who, as you know from their reputation, are technologically advanced as well. I fear the Uayg have an uncertain future ahead of them with a coalition forming against them. We must be ready to strike soon after their invasion for, once the Uayg are defeated, my brother will undoubtedly reveal his true colors and begin his expansion.

Paithea

Chapter 1497

I know what you are thinking right now. You hope that your people could be ready to join the fight against the coalition. There's already an attachment between you and the Uayg knowing that fate brought the two races together. As much as I commend you for the thought, I cannot let you do that. You see, we need my brother to reveal himself as the actual Inferno Crystal. Until he do so, his deception will continue and I will remain in a terrible position. The Uayg understood what they got themselves into when they swore allegiance to me.

"Please understand," said Opho. "We and the Celestial don't choose the easiest path. We always choose the correct path which, more often than not, is the tougher path. My people have prepared themselves for total annihilation if they could make a difference in the war between good and evil. For us Uayg, our existence is meant to serve the Celestial through the good and bad. It doesn't matter how unfavorable the situation is as long we don't go against our destiny. If we must be wiped out for the Celestial, then we gladly accept such a fate."

I have no intention of letting your people die out, Opho. Please understand that we still need your people to live on should we require your people's service once again. Sadly, we cannot save all of your people or my brother wouldn't be fooled. We will be able to save Uayg here and there and get them to a safe location, most likely in this planetary system where they could live with the Langobards and prepare for the day of departure. As my brother's coalition grows stronger day by day, the clash between the coalition and the Uayg becomes sooner.

I will be speaking with your leaders, Opho. The sooner we get the lucky survivors to this planetary system, the less suspicion we would arouse. My brother doesn't intend on wiping out your people completely just yet as long as he could get to me. I have no intentions of being defeated by him so we still need to make preparations for the invasion. If I was my brother, I would no doubt be warping the coalition close to Asniuhiri so he could bypass the main Uayg defenses with the coalition.

Chapter 1498

Opho, I'm quite sure I don't need to emphasize your job here with the Langobards. They have great potential but many setbacks made it so they aren't as advanced as they could be. Your people and I are to blame for that so this is our chance to make up for our mistakes. We cannot change the past but we can definitely change the future. I know the path to the bright future has been long and rough with no end in sight. However, you must believe me when I say that the future exists for all lifeforms.

You and your people definitely provided us with a much needed edge with the acquisition of the Qih crystals. It was fate that brought my brother to the Yridian System. I've only learned recently that he used his powers to silence the spirits of the Qih'em who still lingered on the various planets. They remained to tell anyone who is willing to listen to the truth behind my brother. In a way, my brother did a good deed by sending them to the afterlife where they could rest with ease.

"I apologize for everything," said Opho. "It was never our intention to be discovered at all. I was worried when I heard the explosion. We only needed another day before we could ship the Qih crystal out of there. I know I made the mistake of revealing my face and am willing to be punished for the mistake. We didn't accomplish the simple task flawlessly which is a total disgrace. Our only saving grace is that the Qih crystals are out of the Inferno's grasp."

It was purely bad timing when they suddenly arrived at your location. You hastily sped up the process and narrowly escaped. Opho, I quickly deleted the mention of your face from their files. I've also made sure that there were no reports that reached my brother who happened to be preoccupied with something else at the time. You mustn't worry about this incident for it did little to change the outcome. The conflict between me and my brother will still take place in the near future as foreseen a long time ago.

Paithea

Chapter 1499

The Qih'em also left behind messages in their sacred grounds that, if deciphered, would reveal my brother's identity. My brother, upon realizing this, has already taken action by sending one of his followers to attack the planet Trop. The inhabitants of the planet were wise and could decipher many languages with their ancient wisdom. They are the only ones capable of learning what the Qih'em left behind but, sadly, my brother took the initiative to wipe them out.

This follower of his is unknown to the coalition. They were recruited by my brother during the last conflict and have been operating in the shadows. They used a special jammers created by my brother which made it nearly impossible to send signals long distance. This allowed the invading fleet to attack Trop without worrying about the arrival of enemy reinforcements. The Trop were practically wiped out by my brother with only a few survivors. My brother, unwilling to risk anything, sent fast ships in pursuit of them.

When his followers failed, my brother took precaution by taking matters into his own hands where he destroyed the ship which held his greatest secret. He even had to tamper with the equipment of the Langobards to ensure that the message never reached them. Then, he intended on silencing those on the ship permanently by, after ordering a beam fired from one of his followers, warped it so it hit the ship to basically wipe out the existence of everyone on board. He wanted the secret they learned to die with them.

I don't want to end this meeting on a down note so I will share that there is a surprise waiting for you outside the temple. Our guests aren't aware how they got here because I played a role in bringing them here. I'm certain that they will be of great help for they know about our cause. They will gladly work with us to fight my brother to ensure the existence of life in the universes. You will all be meeting them and, ideally, make them feel at home. They, like the Langobards, will be here for quite awhile so they might as well get comfortable.

Chapter 1500 will come shortly. Just want to make it somewhat epic to mark a new milestone. :D Thank you all for following and hope you will be here for another 250 chapters at least. :)

Well that explains a lot. So the ghosts who haunted that planet way back were the Qih'em and the message in a language the Langobards couldn't decipher was about truth behind the Inferno Crystal? The Inferno Crystal has been working hard behind the scenes to keep his secret.

Chapter 1500 will surely be epic, but not as epic as 2000 or 10000, of course. :D

I told these stuff will be explained eventually. At least, those that I remember will explained. After 1500 chapters, it's hard to keep track of all the small stuff. :D Let's go with 1750 first. If we do get to 10000, then I'll surely give a really epic chapter that might take a few days to finish. :p

Mylar System's Past

Chapter 1500

Hello there! You might know me as the Celestial Crystal. It's wonderful to have you all here to join me. I wish to use this opportunity to share with you lot some of my knowledge. I cannot guarantee that we can answer too many questions since we do have a tight schedule here. The Langobards, with the help of the twelve Uayg, have much work to do before they could be in a position to fight my brother. It doesn't help that such sessions make me tire easily so I cannot do these for extended amount of time. Now, is there any burning question you wish to ask? I will try my best explaining the first question I hear. Ah, okay. Many of you probably wondered about this planetary system where I brought the Langobards to.The name of this planetary system is the Mylar System. The past of this planetary system has been shrouded in mystery. We, the Creators, knew little about this place until we discovered it by accident. The other Creators didn't create this place so it was created by someone or something else. We don't know who or what exactly was responsible but we learned the hard way that these weren't a friendly alien race.

I can tell you that the Mylar System has changed greatly since we first discovered it. This planetary system would have been uninhabitable by the Langobards in the past because it was such an unpleasant place to live in. There was a cruel race known as the Eonon who were the first known inhabitants of the Mylar System. This alien race was unlike anything you could imagine and they didn't particularly like anyone other than their own race. To them, you were either their servant or a potential corpse. Their objective is to become the masters of the universes and all those who refused to bow before them would be eliminated. When we first discovered the Mylar System, we found they already had a firm grip in this planetary system. Their thirst for power and steady expansion to neighboring planetary system threatened those we created so we had to defeat them. For the sake of all lifeforms, we must bring the fight to them. Thus, we brought our fleets to the Mylar System where we struck at the heart of the Eonon.

The Battle of the Eonon Gate has mostly likely been forgotten by all. Even me and my brother forgot much of it. I can tell you that the scale of the battle was unimaginable. There were likely several million frigate class ships at the very least during the heat of the battle. So many lives were lost in that gruesome battle where we came out victorious. The Eonon were defeated and their gateway, the portal between their dimension of ours, was destroyed. That would be the last time we saw any Eonon in this dimension. Let me tell you that you don't want to see them. They were true abominations that couldn't be described in words. One cannot feel empathy towards the Eonon because they were so different. None of the Eonon had free will for they were servants to something called the Overmind. Quite frankly, we knew practically nothing about this Overmind except that it existed and was the one giving orders to the Eonon. We do know that the Overmind had no regards to the lives of its servants as if they were nothing more than fodder. We are just relieved that the gateway is sealed and we are safe. The Overmind can harm us no more with the Eonon threat dealt with. However, the reputation of this place still persisted after the Battle of the Eonon Gate.

There were tests the Eonon performed on their captives. They claimed that these tests were meant for the greater good of all living creatures. The Eonon wanted to find the perfect subjects so they could create the perfect beings. While the details were unclear, me and my brother were certain that the Eonon wanted to clone Creators. The Eonon were, after all, nothing more than servants to the Overmind. It made sense that the Overmind wished to control something greater. The Eonon Gate might have been destroyed but we had reason to believe their lab results were sent to the Overmind. Tests were likely done this very minute as the Overmind attempted to create strong beings to serve it. While the test results went through the gates, many of their test subjects escaped captivity and terrorized parts of the Mylar System. These were the same creatures that were responsible for the death of the Langobards led by Allan into the wilderness. One blessing we had was that the test subjects eventually adapted to a certain region making them reliant on a single ecosystem. In other words, the subjects wouldn't mean anyone harm unless any living creatures entered their territory. Still, their presence makes expansion on the planets rather difficult, it not impossible.

Much has changed since the Battle of the Eonon Gate. The Mylar System, despite its mysterious origins, was still subjected to the changes like any other planetary systems in our universes. There were great asteroids and space debris that arrive and possible change a bit of the Mylar System at a time. Over time, this planetary system became the Mylar System we know so well. The Langobards will soon learn a great deal more about this planetary system once their probes become operational. They could learn about the two planets they inhabit and, eventually, the entire Mylar System. This planetary system is vital in that it was perfect for the Langobards to escape my brother's notice. Both of us fear this place so we generally stayed away. I, being the more daredevil of the two, decided to venture here one day to learn about the changes. I've been planning the arrival of the Langobards for a long time before all this became a reality. Many of you might have noticed that the Langobards engines and thrusters, while showing no faults, simply didn't work. It would appear that the Eonon, in addition to doing tests to their captives, performed tests on the planets and even the star creating an environment that made fusion reactors and many other types of propulsion simply useless.

Still, the Mylar System wasn't the planetary system where the Langobards could live and thrive. At least, they couldn't hope to accomplish that until they eradicated the surviving test subjects of the Eonon which was a tall order for anyone. Even the Uayg, with their technological advances, would require a long time before they could accomplish such a task. Thus, it made no sense wasting time and resources with what the Mylar System could offer. The Langobards will leave this planetary system once they are strong enough to face the threat. Then, they would return to the Solar System. They would return to their home called Earth where their ancestors came into existence and evolved over time. The Langobards will one day follow the footsteps of their ancestors as they entered another stage in evolution but that is still a long way off. Right now, they must get their priorities straight by focusing on the tasks at hand. They needed advanced technologies that would allow them to take strides in breakthrough. That is the very reason why the Uayg were brought here. The Uayg would serve as mentors who would play a role in guiding the Langobards on their proper path towards the destiny assigned to them before they even came into existence.

No matter how we look into the future, we will always be reminded of the past. A past that we cannot change or erase from our memories. This past would be with us for as long as we exist in this dimension. We have memories and regrets in the past that would be with us constantly reminding us our old mistakes. These mistakes teach us about who we are and what we must do. I've realized too late my participation in causing harm to the Langobards. They never picked a side but I ordered an attack on them. The asteroid I ordered to be sent, properly named by the Langobards as the Armageddon, would wipe out an enormous Langobards population. They fought against the odds and eventually came out stronger than ever. My brother might have corrupted a number of them but I, too, have a decent number of Langobards willing to fight him. I know I am encouraging conflicts between the Langobards but all this is unavoidable. The conflict between me and my brother would be here soon. The humans will be fighting between themselves. One was deceived while the other chose their own path. It will pain those who chose their own path to fight those of the same ancestors. Sadly, that is the path they must follow since, much as what I told my followers, the correct path is usually the tougher path.

The Overmind, you say? I hope that doesn't mean the Zerg will show up in swarms. :p

Sounds like things are building up for a confrontation. It'll be interesting to see how the Langobards following the disguised Inferno Crystal react to their fellows showing up and turning against them.

Someone has played too much Starcraft. :) Well, I thought you know a bit of the answer already considering how we ended the battle. Guess I'll have to remind you later.

Chapter 1501

Tommy could tell from the expressions of the Uayg that they weren't informed of the guests by the Celestial Crystal either. He wondered who these guests might be since he didn't see anyone when he first arrived outside the temple. In other words, these guests arrived after his arrival which was on a short notice. Then, Tommy and the Uayg returned to the smaller chamber where they still looked at each other with puzzlement. Opho took the lead as she walked out towards the temple exit.

The group arrived outside the temple where they spotted a ship that crash landed on one of the dunes which helped cushion the impact. They could tell that the ship, while intact, definitely had better days. It was quite battered as if it experienced combat quite recently. Tommy didn't recognize the ship since it, like the ships of the Uayg, was unfamiliar alien technology. He sneaked a glance at Opho who seemed surprised. Opho, noticing his stare, turned to him.

"I know this isn't something you know but this ship belongs to the Uddyx," she said. "In case the name sounds unfamiliar, the Uddyx is an alien race that the Inferno Crystal and his Langobards allied with. To think that we have Uddyx here is a huge surprise since they could easily expose our location to our enemies. I honestly don't know what the Celestial is thinking at times." Opho then handed something that resembled her headset to Tommy. "Take this if you wish to understand and speak with our new arrivals."

Tommy took the headset and quickly thanked Opho. He put it with ease and waited for the passengers inside the ship to exit. Nearly a minute passed before the door to the ship opened with a number of aliens exiting. Tommy watched as a few humanoids exit the ship. He first noticed their four arms which were the only features that could differentiate them from humans. These beings he assumed to be the Uddyx exited the ship cautiously and soon caught sight of Tommy and the Uayg.

Chapter 1502

One of the Uddyx stared in their direction and simply nodded his head. He made a gesture to his fellow Uddyx to drop their weapons as if the party meeting them meant them no harm. He slowly walked over to the group while nursing one of his arms which probably got injured during the crash landing. Tommy noticed the other Uddyx stayed where they were near the ship ready to attack if there were any indication of harm to their leader.

The Uddyx soon stood before the group. "I see you have the universal translator so I won't need to speak in Uayg." He then noticed Tommy and was slightly taken aback but he quickly recovered. "Nor will I need to speak human. My name is Egl and I am or was a top Uddyx official. I could only assume that the actual Celestial Crystal saved me and my crew along with the passengers aboard my ship. It would appear that we are not enemies as we first thought, Uayg."

Opho stepped forward and greeted Egl. "I must admit that we are surprised by your sudden arrival. The Celestial didn't inform us until a moment ago so we weren't expecting your arrival at all. We also find it puzzling that you learned about the deception of the Inferno Crystal on your own. If you don't mind, we would like to hear how you learned about all of this. Please don't be offended if we still feel cautious of you. After all, our two races are still enemies last I checked."

"No offense taken," replied Egl. "I would be in a similar situation if I were in your shoes. To be honest, I didn't think we would survive the beam attack that came out of nowhere. We could only assume that the Inferno Crystal wished to silence us for good and it pretty much accomplished that. The sight of this human tells me that the Langobards who were swallowed by the black hole were most likely warped to this planet just as I did. Anyways, I guess I should start with the explanation of how I discovered the Inferno Crystal's deception."
