"Your Majesty, Gentlemen, good morning." Osami began. "We have a had very busy month in the Pacific and we destroyed another American Carrier fleet which has severly crippled their ability for offense. We estimate they have one more operational Carrier fleet but no idea where it might be. we have suffered some losses ourselves due to a battle with the sunk American fleet."
"Losses are as follows:
Japanese Losses
2 x Heavy Cruisers - IJN Haguro and IJN Nachi.
1 x Transport Flotilla - 5 Yuso Sentai.
Australian Losses
4 x Destroyer Flotillas.
5 x Transport Flotillas.
Brazilian Losses
1 x Destroyer Flotilla.
1 x Transport Flotilla.
Canadian Losses
1 x Battleship.
1 x Transport Flotilla.
Haitian Losses
1 x Transport Flotilla.
Mexican Losses
1 x Transport Flotilla.
South African Losses
2 x Transport Flotillas.
British Losses
1 x Destroyer Flotilla.
American Losses
4 x Aircraft Carriers.
2 x Light Carriers.
2 x Light Cruisers.
1 x Submarine Divisions.
5 x Destroyer Divisions.
3 x Transport Divisions.
A large amount of Allied fleets for the first time widely spread between a lot of Countries. The presence of so many smaller Countries Transport fleets suggests a lack of such vessels in the American arsenal. The withdrawal of a large part of our bomber forces to Asia could allow some incursions into our territory but not much. We have already altered some fleet compositions to provide smaller Cruiser fleets to patrol some sealanes. We will expand this policy a little more and place these fleets in areas designed to protect our entire Pacific Front.
An impending research project will see our Carriers sent to a port to upgrade their strike forces early in the month. Nothing more from the Armed Forces." Osami concluded.
"How long until you think the Soviets main forces are all available and pushing forwards?" Hirohito asked.
"Given the terrain involved we expect no rapid advances anywhere. By the end of the summer they should have almost their entire army available." Tanigawa replied.
"Long enough to move some more forces to assist. You have my permission to remove all Japanese divisions currently guarding beaches in Indochina. There has been no threat at all to this area for some time."
"Thank you your Majesty we shall do that."
"Intelligence next please." Hideki stated.
"Good morning your Majesty, Gentlemen. None of the usual pre-war moves were made by the Soviets. Not only did they not cancel their trades first they also did not purge enemy agents from their ranks. All of my agents are still very much alive and well." Kuniaki replied.
"Soviet intelligence would be a good place to start. No change to Industrial Capacity. They completed research in to a better Tank and anti-Submarine warfare. Upgrades to their tanks are likely to take some time.
According to our numbers from two months ago there are still over one and fifty divisions unaccounted for and probably redeploying. I would suggest that these are heading for Manchuria. Nothing else of any importance in the numbers with their fleet thought to mostly contain obsolete ships and a fairly large Submarine component. We should have little difficulty if we encounter their fleet."
"The United Kingdom still struggle with rare materials. They also completed two research projects. The only one we are certain of is Armoured Cavalry.
Their infantry numbers dropped by a third either due to redeployment to Persia or as a reult of them returning them to their original owners.
Royal Navy numbers are not accurate due to a lack of agents in the Country."
"Production is the same for the United States. They completed four research projects. Improved Strategic bombers, Armoured Cavalry, a better anti-tank gun and Air-Land Battle. Their research is beginning to be far enough ahead to cause us some problems once it is implimented.
A small loss in land forces due to operations in the Pacific. Aircraft losses are not accurate and never are but show a slight decrease in Fighters. The United States Navy numbers confirm our own intelligence on ships sunk. They have four Carriers left and also lost fifteen smaller ships in March. I have little doubt that they are building more Carriers and support ships."
"We completed two research projects. Improved Decryption and Unrestricted Warfare. We should complete two more this month, these being an improved Carrier variant and an Advanced Computer which sould speed up further research. Our next two research projects will probably be an improvement to our Transport system and a better Close Air Support bomber. Done." concluded Kuniaki.
"Industry please."
"Good morning your Majesty, Gentlemen. Production continues as per last month. Two new Light Carriers are due this month." Ginjiro began.
"Transport Capacity has gone up a lot due to the conquest of Australia. I expect it to drop as the Soviets relieve us of some of our current partisan problem. The need for increased supplies to front line forces in Asia will provide an additional strain.
Our Industry increased by a further six factory complexes in Australia. Resources have also increased quite a lot in some areas. Energy is up over 14000, Metal by a similar amount and rares by 7000. Oil also increased by 4000 units. All in all a satisfactory haul from a medium sized Nation. We should capture whatever New Zealand has during April as well.
Supplies are still increasing slowly but are likely to drop down once our forces in Asia start to need them. Manpower is up slightly from last month, don't expect it to keep doing so.
Repairs are largely for ships and aircraft and are minor as far as manpower is concerned. Our needed upgrades are progressing well. We are down to under sixty units needing upgrades at this time. With no new builds planned the remainder should complete in the next few months.
My only concern is a lack of convoy escorts which is due to advances in the Pacific. I do not expect it to be a problem as we have not seen many interventions at all with our convoys since we sent the United States Navy into reverse. I am satisfied overall with the state of the economy but as you can see Energy is already beginning to plummet."
"I can try and do something about that." Mamoru said.
"That would be helpful. Done." concluded Ginjiro.
"It seems that Minister Mamoru got you Gentlemen out of trouble. The news did warrant a small delay in the meeting. Feel free to dismantle as much of the Red Army as you can as quickly as possible. I wish to visit Moscow by April 1st 1948." Hirohito stated as he left the meeting.
