Three years ago in this Dev Diary Doomdark has said, that after the 15th expansion (that would be Holy Fury) it might be time to let go.

In the last one-one and half year I haven't followed the forums as closely as in the olden days, so I have no idea whether or not it is still the plan. Was there any indication recently from the devs, that HF will be the last DLC?

Not really. It's all very ambiguous. The first 2019 Dev Diary promised several updates and more free content, but didn't really have anything to say on the topic of future expansions.

In the nearest future, during the first parts of 2019, we aim to release a couple of free updates to Crusader Kings II including bug fixes, polish and some minor features not warranting their own dedicated expansions. We’ll tell you more about the first one in a few weeks. Rest assured that Crusader Kings II is still very much alive, especially with the Crusader Kings the Board Game coming up as well! Stay tuned for more news later this year!

I think the official stance on new DLC now is that as long as people keep buying them, PDX will keep making them.

That's what they said they will be working on the next few updates.

That being said, if they want to continue making more DLC for CK2, I wouldn't mourn.

"Fix bugs" is the coding equivalent to pushing a rock uphill - it's not something you "do" and are done, it's an endless quest.
