My comment was a reference to an earlier part of the AAR when Motgomery and Rommel defended the Prussian Military Academy against the SS. Also incase you didn't notice, the Channel Pact is fighting the Americans so Patton and Eisenhower will figting agianst them.:D

yes i got the reference, but that was tactical not strategic. and yes i know who they are fighting against. :D. but by gang i meant the most important tacticians and generals of WW2. not nessacarily a group from one country. lets get the gang in europe and have an old fashioned slug fest for the world!:D

Yes.:D Fisticuffs shall decide the winner!:p

They'd have a better chance with fisticuffs than with armies...:D

Die züruckfahrt!

I just spent two days in a cramped car cruising through central-Europe with lady gaga on the radio IN EVERY GODDAMN STATION IN THE NINE COUNTRIES WE PASSED. Luckily, I'll still try to give sane answers to your questions ;)

1.Have fun in this "Austria" you speak of, break a leg!
2.Normally, yes, but haven't seen Vincent's student home yet, personally I think it looks like it could collapse at anytime!
3.How the man sleeps at night is a mystery to me.

1. Indeed, I had a blast :D More about that at the bottom of this post

2. Eh? You've already been in my student home in Ghent twice, last time was for that shoot we were doing on St-peter square (the Ghentish one, has nothing to do with Russia), it's odd you don't remember. We toured around the entire Overpoort (club street) and spent most of the night in the TCC and Decadance. We drank vodka with breakfast. We came home so stupendously wasted I accidently kicked a hole in the wall. When we woke up you had a phone number written on your forehead with the text 'Bel min! x, Lien' under it (West-Flemish dialect for 'call me!', I'm guessing Lien was the girls name. At least, we hope it was a girl). We tried dialing that number, unfortunately half of it was faded so we never found out who the signer was. Good times :D

3. Hey, in Dutch, we have one word for sleep, but 30 for 'Party' :p

yes never get a dell computer. i find even the best ones arte horrible. but i have windows 7 as well since it was on the comp i got for christmas. it is confusing but not that bad. i find it runs faster than xp, but that may be the comp. and if you need to modify any files, just make a new folder on the desktop, and copy and paste the HOI2 files into that folder, modify what you need to, and run the shortcut in the folder. really pissed me off with that when i got it.

I'm still rolling on my PC bought in 2000, if all you do is Photoshop and office it works great ;)

How is it possible to win a naval battle when there's two dozen capital ships lost. Did the US even lose something during that battle.

Also this is going to be hard for you guys especially since you need a decent navy to get your troops across the pond after you win. And you will win. This will not be DMLL.

As we said before, victory or death, we won't sign a peace like the US did in DMLL. Kapitulieren? Niemals!

The German High Command has become desperate, so they made an attempt to trick American Naval Admirals by naming nine of their newest battleships the KMS Bismarck XD

Still that MP bug running rampant, I've got a lot of same-name BBs too but they're in the Pacific so still intact.

Yes.:D Fisticuffs shall decide the winner!:p

I have no idea what a fisticuff is, but: Yes, definitely.

About Austria: It was crazy . I met up with my friends in the station near München (Munich), from there we went to some town in the Alps of which I won't care to remember the name, before moving to a student home in, erm, Krollgassestrasse or something equally odd, in Vienna. Then we went to see museums and delve into the rich cultural history of Austria, the Balkans and the rest of Eur...

Yeah right :D

Days were for sleeping and watching seasons of House MD dubbed in Hungarian (Well, I think it was Hungarian); but the nights were for hitting every club and bar in Vienna (We skipped the gay bars). Awesome company, we had two Czechs, two Germans from Berlin, and an Austrian. Talk about a Central-Europe crew ;). Czechs were literature students, a typical case of person X that you know knows person Y that knows person Z etc etc. As can be expected, we chased the ladies all week long. It was a bad season for me, although you would not believe how much game the Austrian had .

Luckily, I did meet a really cool American chick from Arkansas who was on a study break to hike around Europe. Since I was the only one in the group with decent English, we exchanged numbers and hung out. I told her I was a French/Spanish student, which was greeted with an oddly enthousiastic question 'Oh my god you speak French?'. I answered 'Comme une vache Espagnol' but I don't think she got the joke there. Great dancer too, I haven't seen a woman move like that since the flamenco shows I watched in Spain. She hitched a ride with us to Frankfurt yesterday so she should be on the plane about now. She invited me to come visit her in Arkansas next year, unfortunately, I really don't think I have the money for a transatlantic :(. I'll see what I can do next year, I've always wanted to visit the Americas. I'd call for a fundraiser, but Coz would prolly banhammer down on our asses for that :p

To sum it up; Craziest vacation ever. Laurence is coming over tomorrow so we can play some TCP, I'll also try to update. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a pile of mail to sort through.

Cheers,
-Vincent

Wait a second! You want us to give you money so you can get laid?!

:D

Let's call it cultural interchange instead, that sounds nicer ;)

You boys just have to ask the local girl XD. *cough*me,c'mon!mycharactersareusuallyfemaleanyway*cough*

But anyway, I can't wait for the AAR to be revived.

Sounds like a great holiday.

And Kaiser, while the Dutch, including me, know how to party, these guys are Belgian. Whole different level. Don't mix them up. Where are you (KaiserMuffin) from anyways?

And hitting on foreign girls is the greatest. It's easy, they believe anything (example above) and

Wasn't it snowing heavily during your holiday?

Did you notice any anti-Channel Pact rioting when you were there? Any rebel tank divisions hurtling past you on the motorway? (have to keep it on-topic :p)

ive seen a few newspapers over here in america claiming that the hms soveriegn has been sunk, and that van gyete has been killed. but i think thats just propaganda;).

now some american girls can be easy, but from my limited experience with southerners, they arent that great to go after. now if you swing by LA then you will learn how to truly party. been there once and it was sweet. i also want to go transatlantic someday though

“Thanks to efforts of our brave forces in the East, the corridor in Poland has been reopened for economic transit, and the partisan threat around Moscow is being dealt with as we speak. Partisan presence in the North is still too strong to combat, but at least our forces have managed to eliminate their supremacy in Russia. In the meanwhile, the first of our Chinese brethren have crossed the border with Siberia. Welcome to Europe, brave soldiers! We owe you our greatest gratitude for your eagerness to help us combat our enemies.”

“It is grave news I am forced to inform you of, peoples of Europe. We have just received word from our correspondents in La Coruna that US fleets have managed to completely annihilate whatever remained of the British Reserve fleet. Again, spectators have observed large-scale use of Presidential-Class missile corvettes to attack the weakly armoured decks of our ships. How much longer must the slaughter continue?”

germanyholdsontonorth.jpg

“In other news, The Head Command has confirmed that all of the carriers under construction in England have been relocated to the wharfs beyond the Danish Strait. We have received reports that soldiers of the 4th ‘Fighting Yeomen’ Ironsides squad has managed to commandeer one of these Presidential-Class vessels and escort it to a British port. The ship has been hauled in and is being examined by British engineers as we speak. We cannot give any detailed info, but several engineers have already commented that it could be possible to hampers the use of missile corvettes by using a new kind of radio jammer, to distort their guiding equipment. This would render the dreaded missile corvette useless. Let us hope their research bears fruit.”

“In the meanwhile, much of our hope rests on the completion of the Sovereign-Class Carriers In Wilhelmshaven. Peoples of Europe, do not despair! The eternal navies of Britannia have not been defeated! Britain shall rule the waves once more!”

“This was Channel Radio. If you can hear this, peoples of Europe, do not despair! Europe stands defiant in face of opression and destruction!”

Those troops retreating into Choerburg are in real danger of encirclement.

If my travels have learned me anything it is that there really isn't a 'people from country X can party harder than people from country Y' system, it all depends on the town you visit, clubs in the area, the people you meet. For example, in the Netherlands, Limburg is considered a rural backward province, but where I've been I saw that every small town has it's own club (For example, the awesome Club Poseidon or Zeus or Apollo or something, in De Panningen. De Panningen, with less than a third of the inhabitants of Hamme!) and cities like Maastricht/Roosendaal go all night long in the weekends.

There are some exceptions though, like Switzerland which is boring like hell. Zurich has a few, like club Hard One but tbh they're more like bars with some extra lights attached. On the other hand, Belgium does have some good outgoing events, of the 15 biggest festivals in the world 9 are held here. If you ever visit, try either the Overpoortstraat in Ghent which is a big outgoing area, but I prefer Club Petrol in Antwerp, kinda hidden out of the city centre but they have a wide variety of music played. Last time I was there they were hosting Dubbel Dubsteb Concept, night after it was RandB, it's very varied and interesting. More importantly, they're not up their own ass about themselves like Carré or Palace outside Ghent which have a dresscode, meaning if you get in depends on what the bouncers feel like, the DC is barely descript so you can only hope they'll let you in.

Oh, I forgot: Ghent also houses Make-Up Club, a pretty fun place for going out, based in a medieval-looking cellar. Ghent has the advantage that it's a student place so the prices are not far-out like in the more chique establishments. (Petrol puts forth reasonable prices too, prolly the only club in ANTW to do so)

But anyhow, back to the AAR.

The reason the US is pwning our fleets so bad is that they are barely organised now, we don't have enough screens to shield our capitols and the AOF AI is using gamey tactics like 27-carrier deathstacks. Luckily, they still seem vulnerable to air so we can keep them away from the coasts of Denmark and Norway where our fleets are hiding.

I see the trap now. You're allowing the enemy to sink your ships so they run out of missiles! Very clever, sir!

:D

Hell yes! We've got them cornered now!

*Sir, American forces have taken Paris and are headed for the Rhine*

Oh snap.
