Heres my Great Scandinavian Empire.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I recently added Latvia and Estonia to my empire.. I just got a Place in the Sun Casus Belli on Great Britain so I'm about to add their provinces in the west Indies to my state there along with Puerto Rico which I took in a war against Spain and Saint Thomas which I got when Denmark Unified.

One weird thing I have noticed is that since all my bureaucrats in Greenland & Iceland are Inuit I cannot form a state and for some reason its attracting 1000-2000 migrants. Its up to over 500k population now and growing.. I think its my most populated region..

Not exactly sure if this constitutes an "Empire".....but its coming along anyway :)

Its October 1850, the United States I would say is on the ropes militarily. I've begin carving up chunks of their nation, and I have discovered they only have ONE army of 35,000 men running around in the CSA....time for my armies to gather, swing in south and then crush the United States Army. Essentially after that, if I wish, I should be able to....absorb the United States into my Empire. I reckon I would leave the CSA independant....for a while.

Afterwards, I'll head to South America and deal with that pesky nation of the USCA that was foolish to join the US in a war against me.

MexicanEmpire.jpg

mmmm, maybe I will make my game to go for a big Empire, take a look at the screenshot here:

American Civil War, Mexico occupied 100% of their enemies.

The USA declares war on the CSA every 5 years, and I support the CSA, I dont want a powerfull USA, but will nto support a powerfull CSA either, maybe I will end up of annexing everything there.

:)

How on earth did you beat Russia?

In the Beginning it was Good generals and good timing. Russia had just finished a war in China so I attacked to get Northern and Southern Finland. I managed to take most of Finland before they could respond.

I also at the time had a larger navy so I could blockade their capital and keep their navy in port.

I was vastly outnumbered but I used a +5 attack general on one of their mega stacks and routed them. It was a long and bloody battle, but it ended in victory.

By the end of the war I had heavy losses, but they had heavier losses. I held all of Finland and their capital so eventually they accepted peace.

I got the Border Incident event and Russia tried to Invade me to retake Finland. I used this opportunity to try and Liberate those Finns who were under Russian oppression. Also Karellia is an important strategic location perfect for a defense line.

This war was a bit easier. I had advanced in Technology and still had a powerful general(I think it was the same +5 one, not sure now)

First they tried to attack me but failed to win and retreated. Soon after I attack St. Petersburg and kept the majority of their forces busy and eventually destroyed the bulk of their forces. They did try to sneak a force in behind my lines but my reserve army from Sweden took care of them.

Their navy at this point was more powerful, so it was a bit difficult. I suffered heavy losses to my navy but learned my lesson and began a major ship building plan.

The war ended with me capturing Karellia.

The 3rd and most recent war was helped by another Border Incident. However I did incur some Infamy in adding Latvia as a War Goal as well.

This war was an outright victory. By now I had machine guns and a +4atck, +1 Defense, +10%speed and Org general.

They huge armies, but I had superior weapons. Technology really helped here(and the fact that I have 100% plurality really sped up research).

I easily reached +25 from battles alone(It would have been +50 if not for a limit) and I had occupied large parts of northern Russia, Estonia, Latvia and I got as far south as Moscow.

They eventually came grovelling for peace.

Soon after I got the Place in the Sun Casus Belli against Great Britain and my next target is the West Indies. Meanwhile I will land an army of 24,000 men on their mainland and keep the pressure on.

The secret to beating russia, aside from building as many regiments as possible, is Technology and Generals. They seem to be lacking good tech.

We are Sons of California
A loyal company;
All shout for California
While we strive for victory.
All sing the joyful chorus,
As her colors we unfold;
Then hurrah for California,
And for the Blue and Gold.

Still learning the game, so I could probably have gotten CA's economy off the ground faster so I could grow a bit more into Mexico; we'll see what I can do with the rest of the time. The US has cores on Alta California, but we're also allied with them, so I don't know if we're at risk of being annexed. It was odd that neither Mexico nor the US tried to conquer California prior to gold being discovered (which kickstarted the economy and population into being functional).

Currently allied with the US, which is how I acquired Baja California: started a war with Mexico (looking to gain Sonora) while they had a major rebel insurrection. The US joined in, conquered all of Mexico north of the Rio Grande, while I casually occupied Baja. The US eventually enforced a peace: they took the northern states, I got Sonora. Good deal overall.

Here's my Panjabi Campaign in 1843, and as you can see in the screen, I am at war with Russia, within the year the Ottoman Empire and China would as well. Although, the Turkish and Russians have no come to my borders as of yet, but I am bordering China, to war my brothers! (I have over 35 infamy..)

Ok its not much, only a couple of poxy islands in the Pacific but we are now civilised and a secondary power :)

A bug has killed the game though, when I colonized the other islands in my State, Hawaii suddenly ceased to be my capital province and became a poxy colony :(

I'll maybe try again and spam Beauracrats before colonization to re-statify immediately and quickly colonize the rest of the Pacific!

Here is some screens from my korea game. Annexed China late, was difficult because they had rebels every year on the dot covering their entire nation by the time I decided to do that.

After a few years i got INSANE military scores exponentially increasing.

My sphere covers most of asia, have western coast US/mexico, released Deseret from Mexico. Chinese minors are my dominions, the one in the center was vital to fight my every year of rebels because they had such a ridiculously huge army I just let them destroy me rebels for me automatically.

I hate that I couldn't sell/give the outlying chinese provinces to my dominions out there. Paradox needs to bring that vital feature back.

Since Panjab is so popular:
v24d.jpg

Started as Panjab (obviously) and became India when a revolution in Kutch triggered the "crown from the gutter" event.

This got me a couple Indian minors. From there I attacked the UK to get Delhi and couple other states around 1885. Since then it's been war every 5 years in an effort to unite India.

Because I'm India the princely states can be annexed peacefully by putting them in my SoI, even if they are British satellites. Makes the going much easier.

Unfortunately India doesn't really work as an economy in Vicky II (or at least I can't make it work). I definitely regret passing health care reforms:
v25d.jpg

Overpopulation is rampant. When you've got 15 million pops in one state there's only so much work they can find. At one point I had 1 million unemployed craftsmen in Delhi. Heck, I even had unemployed CLERKS. Clergy, bureaucrat and soldier pops are running rampant, sucking up my budget while providing no cash. To top it off my factories aren't terribly profitable despite having most of the industry techs researched and even some clerks due to massive global overproduction of everything. I'm hopeful adding China to my SoI will help, but you can never keep China for long. Everyone wants a piece of it.

Things are further complicated by the fact that most of my states are colonial ones, limiting industrialization to just 6 states at the moment.

On the bright side all those clergy means decent tech:
v26.jpg

Caught up in army techs and basically caught up in industry (no point in researching metallurgy with no coal, iron or precious metals.) Mind you all the other techs are backwards, but when you don't manage to civilize for several decades and start out with a literacy of 3% you've got to make choices.

I'm debating quitting this game at this point. Taking the rest of India is just a matter of time and the constant rebels and sluggish economy are making the game tedious. During the last war with the UK I racked up a 1.2 million pound debt, which took me 4 years to pay off.

My Slovenia :D (I started the game as Prussia and DOWed Austria on day 1 and liberated Slovenia(2 states - Slovenia and Istria), Croatia, Slovakia(yes this is NOT the same as Slovenia:)), Venice, Hungary (all of them with 1 state) and I added another state to Serbia (I would have some of the other liberated with more states, but this wargoals already costed 98% warscore)):

The game will be continued(I currently don't have much time to play), but I'm already proud of my small empire:cool::D

I'm pretty proud of this one. My first complete game, as Ethiopia, went pretty well. I give you the Empire of Ethiopia, in 1934:

Ethiopia is the #4 power on Earth, behind Britain, France, and the US. Obviously the big winner of the last 100 years was the UK, while my principal rival is probably France. The scramble for Africa started late, circa 1900, as France, Portugal and I raced to snatch up the open territory between our empires. For all my success I failed at my chief aim, getting a domestic source of coal.

I'm thinking of doing an AAR of this one.

Edit: In case anyone is curious, this is what my government looks like:
V2_5.jpg

Oddly, for several decades my upper house (appointed by the emperor) was over 70% socialist, while the lower house was overwhelmingly conservative. Despite the Socialist supermajority, they would never support un-banning their own labor unions, which was annoying to me. In the 30s, with high unemployment due to a budget crisis (provoked less by social programs than by misguided industrial subsidies) the fascist party has been making rapid gains. Still, we can count on the solidly conservative lower house to keep the radicals in the upper house in check!

Italy in 1881.

italy1881.jpg

As you can see here, Austria is hardly what it once was. I've broken Austria up into a lot of pieces (all from wars they started). I also annexed Egypt and got OE in my SoI and began colonizing Africa. Once I can get my infamy down a tad I will take Ethiopia and Sakoto.. or maybe I'll just free up some more states.

I had some time to continue my Slovenia game and Slovenia is definetly growing :D:

My sphere of influence:

To be honest if leaders wouldn't give so much military score I would be now probably a secondary power, what would be more reasonable, but however its a great feeling getting Slovenia to the GP rank.

I've continued my first game as the USA (I've unable to play for a week), aside from playing the demo.

Things have been going well after annexing China in 1869, despite rebellions such as the American communists which have risen with 250 brigades in 1889 ...

rebels1889.jpg

I've colonized a large part of Africa and annexed Egypt which has put me above the BB limit, but I figured that since I'm #1 in military strength and only the UK is even close to me, I can survive that. My borders with the UK are well-manned, so even an unexpected DoW shouldn't be too much trouble.

I've hit the 1900 year limit on Navy, Army and Industrial techs and am currently researching culture & commerce techs which I hadn't done until 1890 apart from romanticism.

I have however dropped to second place again.

V2_18.jpg

The UK is simply too far ahead in industrial might at the moment. I do have a cut down to size CB on them though, which I intend to use to sink their fleet.
