Eu3 started in 1399 when the Golden Horde was unified. But not even that was THIS chonky!

Ah, EU3 Divine Wind horde rules. Hordes at war all the time, with either them conquering all the way to Prague or Bohemia becoming the new Russia. Good times.

Interested how they will balance hordes in eu5 to ensure they remain powerful for the first century without being overpowered.

That is what I wonder too because in EU4, extended timeline, I tried playing in in the same time period in the past and the hordes were impossible to really beat they just remained their forever

In EU4 terms, I would assume that a few years after the start date they enter a disaster and have their own Mingsplosion while advancing through tech, especially non-military tech, more slowly. This would result in the multiple successor khanates which the Muscovites first break away from and then begin to defeat and absorb. I think it’ll be easy to have the AI suffer through this, the question is how to have it so that a player is significantly challenged by the disaster without being too forced. The alternative would be to have hordes have some mechanic which simulates the fragmented succession of the khanates, like a pseudo gavelkind mechanic.

We have also Indian cultural map, East Asian geographical map, Southeast Asia countries border map, some part in Indonesia (things above in TT) and a Shandong China locations map (in some thread). Perhaps we have had a East Canada map (in TT probably).

Something tells me someone at Tinto really liked Voltaire’s Nightmare lmfao.
It must be JOhan, considering that massive locations provide posibility for the realisation of such.
