So after failing to find the Mount and Blade thread that I could have sworn existed somewhere in OT, I decided to make a new one. I just reinstalled warband after having not played it for a couple of years, and I thought I'd ask everyone what mods I should install before I start playing again.

Silverstag is still in development, but already has some fantastic features.

Gekokujo is really good if you're into that sort of thing, also still in development.

EDIT: Assuming you were going for SP mods.

Silverstag does have some interresting features. Regarding SP mods in the past I enjoyed Brytenwalda (caution quite hard) and Prophesy of Pendor (warning too hard by design)
Brytenwalda is among the best mods I've played, so I too think it's worth mentioning.

the base game is fine, altough you might want to install a couple of graphic mods
I mostly agree, just that Diplomacy can be a nice addition. Same as the base game in most ways, except for some improvements.

I suppose I should also say I'm probably most interested in mods that expand/improve the kingdom management side of the game.

Check out Silverstag then.

1257 is awesome. Gekokujo is good, though samurai combat is not easy.

Also, Twilight of the Sun King is an excellent 1700s mod

Prophesy of Pendor , love it.

Just for information:
There is a mount and blade forum on the forum.
It's a Paradox game, after all.
Just incase you didn't know. The information you are looking for might be there.

Brytenwalda is absolutely brilliant. Can't recommend it enough.

About 1257 though, I think I tried that sometime last year, but it was very unfinished (like the map had no terrain and stuff), so I didn't play it for long. Is it better now?

Running around in vanilla MP is one of my favourite things. CRPG is you want some sense of achieving anything.

yeah I like that mod. It's long been letting me fulfill my Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now fantasies.

Whoever designed the mod clearly has read the book/seen the movie, you can tell just by the menu theme. The synthesizer with the little drumbeat... it was inviting me to be a brutal raider who makes himself a God before I even got to the campaign map.
