Birch I sent you a bunch of pictures I found in some "memoir" books in the library. I could have gotten more if I was allowed to borrow them, one of them had pictures of every regiment of one of the army groups, but the quality (of the picture) was extremely low so it was all but impossible to photocopy them...

Yep I got them, faboulous files but as I wrote you some of the pics never came through, could you please resend those.Looks like we are on a breakthorugh in Japan too, don't mind the quality of the pics, remember I'm a wizzard...:D

I don't know if this has been mentioned earlier. but Friedrich Paulus never had a "von" in his name. Not a very big deal , but still...

It has been mentioned, and there is still a somewhat open discussion wheter or not Friedrich had a von or not.I'm somewhat reluctant in changing the German file.lBut if you all continue persisiting that then I will change it:D

Lots of 1944-45 propaganda - let's hope I will find something earlier next time.

All the info came from a book on Afghanistan during WWI and WWII.

It doesn't have their first names as far as I know, I may run through the book another time.

The Major could very well be "Hans Von Shenck" but i'm not sure.

That's not unlikely, there was an Abwehr officer working in that area at that time and his name was von Schenck.I have him noted down as Gabriel von Schenck though and his rank as Oberstleutnant (1934)But notice that we have a spelling difference.GvS was attahced to the German Embassy in Siam but had the whole region as working area,

Meanwhile I got hold of some stuff we can use for the last missing Propagandas...including Tannu Tavu (actually that one was easy)The stumbling block again proved to be Uruguay..gee I have no idea why we can't find anything about them.Till date I have only 5 generals/admirals a propaganda and yes almost all their politicians. But it seems a little meagre.I never dreamt this one would be so troublesome.-...comparing to all the other Latin American countries.Even my "file" for Haiti is bigger now.

Birch, I have slightly edited the Bulgarain intelligence list on the previous page - added a few names - now it should be almost complete as names and quite playable in HOI terms.

Also I have some good news - I have located by chance a Romanian WW2 encyclopedia that has some dozens of photos of Romanian generals at the library. So my question is: Is the list of the romanian leaders in HOI 1.05 relevant or you have added some leaders there?

I have foudn another Afghan general who was chief of supplies (Give him some kind of supply trait?)

General Muhammad Omar Khan

Okay I will make the changes next time I get to Bulgaria. The Romanian file are going to be thinned a little, but any general with a pic will enter...no matter what his role was..:) so please scan the pics...:).I'm a little in the wilderness if it is the same as in HOI 1.05 since it appears that for some files mine and the now in 1.05 aren't exactly the same (they will be however)I can see that the last edition on mine is 110503 so I guess it is mine which are in 1.05.But just scan the pics and in they goes...:)..or if you prefer it I could send you my Rom Csv...then you can check it.

PICS????????!!!!!!!!!!!?????

Propagandas

And Propagandas made for Turkey (no NOT a turkey although I was tempted...:D ) Tibet.Uruguay,Yemen,Tannu Tavu Salvador which means that only Slovakia is missing.

So I've got this idea.I will take one of my new pics of Tiso and add a text in Slovakian; which will go soemthing like this:

With Tiso for Slovakia and Liberty

That should be an object for Halibutt to translate....thanks in advance.....:)

Well, it's hard to find evidence to support either side without actually doing an ancestral search, but all the pages i've found on the internet in german says Friedrich Paulus, and most pages in english and other languages says Friedrich von Paulus. Somehow i believe more in the german ones :p

This I found on one site:
Friedrich Paulus was born in Breitenau, Germany, on 23rd September 1890. The son of a administrator in a reform school, Paulus attempted to become an officer-cadet in the German Navy but was rejected because of his lack of aristocratic blood.

And that would probably be pretty easy to verify :)

Maybe instead of a picture of Tiso, you could use a picture of their shield?

Something like this maybe:
(cleaned up of course)
slov.jpg

It might look good with some white Slovak writing down at the bottom.

Yes as I have said before it is pretty much a 50/50 way..and you are right about the english contra the german sites.I think I will pop the question at Third Reich Forum those guys are specialists anyway.
