So, everybody! Development is coming about great! Me and Caesar have been working hard on the lore, but we just can't make heads or tails of the Donkey Kong timeline, so we're making this part open source for anyone following the thread to put their views on it!

The Current Timeline for the DK portion goes as follows.

CK gets captured (Or is born in captivity) sometime before the birth of his son and is the Mascot of New Donk City's local Circus -> DK Jr is born alongside Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, and Bowser -> DK Jr. Grows up in captivity, and his father eventually tries to break them both out in a three-man (Because Wrinkly, then named Pretty Kong, would've been there too if DKJr. was born in captivity. Perhaps one was born in captivity and the other was captured) exodus to their homeland -> They make it back to their people's homeland -> DKJr gets freaky with some anonymous Kong girl and the Modern DK, known for simplicity as DK3, is born -> DKJr. dies in a war with the Kremlings before the events of DKC -> DK3 grows into a man and become the guardian of the Crystal Coconut.

By the point of Donkey Kong Country, DK3 would be 13~, with DKJr being 24 by the original Donkey Kong. If the Baby Donkey Kong depicted in Yoshi's Island DS were DK3 we all know and love, then he would have been born in captivity and had a role in one of the Donkey Kong arcade games, if Baby DK was the OG DK, Cranky, then DK would have been too young to star in DKC.

In regards to relationships, which flipflop in DK lore, me and Caesar believe it would mess with the most logical timeline if Diddy Kong was DK3's nephew as that would require him to have an older sibling, which wouldn't make sense as the timeline goes.

As you can see, the timeline is just a mess, and we'd love to see your opinions on it! :)

All else shall be smooth sailing for now!
 
According to Avrolancaster, the Map is still underway and he is, apparently, two-thirds of the way done with assigning terrain and climate to the existing Map.

For those keeping track, here is the current path of development for the Mod:
  1. Avrolancaster finishes the current Map
  2. Avorlancaster repairs the Mod and allows it to boot up
  3. The current members of the Development Board take it from there
  4. The Traits for each of Avrolancaster's original species lists (and then some) are finalized (I've already done this, only Localization is left)
  5. Separate "Cultures" are created solely to use each species' Graphical Culture to make spawning them functional (so, for example, there's normal cultures used in the usual CK2 way, e.g. "Mushroom Kingdom" culture, and then there's the special "cultures" to assign the right Graphical Culture, e.g. GOOMBAGFX")
  6. The lands of "Super Mario Odyssey" are added to the Map
We have already brought on gentlement who will be doing character files, history files, and dynasties. I'll be doing province flags and some de jure work.

Once these fundamental basics are down, we'll begin taking Vanilla rendition Events and altering them to fix the Mod or removing them if needed, altering Vanilla localization, and improving sound effects. In the distant future, we will then work on UI changes and start adding new Events.

We may even put out a release by autumn of 2019 AD, God and Avrolancaster willing, although it would have pretty much zero flavor, existing only as a proof of concept.
