Heavy German weaponry in Ethiopian hands
Italian soldiers were to be shipped to Ethiopia, into two separate armies, Atlantic Group, composed of 40,000 regulars, and Mediterranean Group, composed of also 40,000 regulars. The first one was tasked to travel to Ethiopia covering all the Atlantic route, while the second one was to pass through the now rebuilt Suez canal.
Italian High Command was sure that the combined armies would be more than a match to the out-dated Ethiopian troops. But sometimes politics can be stronger than any army. With the military coup in Italy most of the troops destined to Africa were needed to secure every town and city in Southern Italy. Preferring to have local control rather to have their loyal troops far away the expedition was cancelled, leaving the Italian colonies to their own fate.
Without support coming from home, the Italian defenders decided to dig in and prepare to fight. They knew that they still possessed a technological superiority over the Ethiopians. They started to administrate every supply they had to make it worth and waited. When the Ethiopians troops appeared on the horizon, they ready their rifles and machines guns, thinking they would mop down every wave of Ethiopians that blindly charged at them.
What happened was something totally different, the 50,000 men Ethiopian army was no longer armed with spears, shields and out-dated musket. They were now carrying modern Mauser rifles, and there were even few teams of one man machine guns. How this German equipment and the training needed to properly use it reached Ethiopian hands remained a mystery. [All Italian colonies lost and annexed into Ethiopia, -2000 regulars to Italy, -3,000 Conscripts to Italy, -1,000 trade to Italy from East Africa]
The Romanians are starting to hunger for land from their allies? A truly mysterious King. If I were the leader of the Danubian Federation, I would step up for the people in Transylvania and refuse to give in to the ridiculous Romanian demands and claims of rightful ownership.

While we do not wish to discuss the Romanian statement, as we believe it to be pointless, one must wonder about the most extraordinary effects of the literary work of Marquis de Sade in the diplomatic speech of certain nations.
Alternatively, one could wonder about things that actually matter. Such as how to improve the training of the French navy, which currently amounts to dropping an infant on its head and then giving it command of a battleship.

It is gladdening to hear of the peace that was earlier signed in Asia between the Japanese and Qing States. Hopefully it will bring a lasting peace not only to these countries but the region as a whole. And hopefully, just hopefully, the Japanese will refrain from waging imperialistic, expansionist wars in the near future.
