Hello, all. This is my first HoI 3 AAR (I've done a few 'never got off the ground' V2 AARs), that's why I'm doing a 'learning the game' AAR. Author's note: There is also some dialogue in here, so don't expect it to completely be tutorial, tutorial, tutorial, tutorial.
Format: Dialogue, with tutorial mixed in the middle now and then. Every 4 months I will do a Status of the nation.
I. Abyssinian War Part I
Roma, Italy, 1936 Jan 1
Emmanuel: Let's start the cabinet meeting.
Mussolini: OK.
Emmanuel: Start with...Ciano.
Ciano:Let's view the diplomacy charts.
Ciano: First, we want to go with the allies.
Emmanuel, Mussolini: Why not the Germans?
Ciano: Quiet, I control diplomacy.
Mussolini: But I am the Duce!
Ciano: Each cabinet member has a separate part of the cabinet. I'm the FM, so I control the diplomacy and diplomats. With that said, I want the UK to side with us because we don't want to fight France.
Emmanuel: OK.
Jung: Nothing to say.
Guidi: We have all of our spies abroad, mostly in Ethiopia. We should see a few of the foreigners here as well.
Emmanuel: surprising...
Ame: I should have said that.
Mussolini: OK, on to Grazi.
Grazioli: We need to replace Jung, as he is Paternal Autocrat. Baistrocchi shall replace him.
Jung: Stupid f***!
Baistrocchi: Thanks. *kicks Jung out*
Pariani: We need a light tank for our front.
Emmanuel: Ah.
Mussolini: Nooooooooo! They'll break as easily as a pea!
Pariani: Shut up! Also, We're on the front of Ethiopia!
Emmanuel: OK.
Mussolini: Others have nothing to say.
on the first hour of the first day of the first month of 1936...
Moizo: To Ethiopia!
Soldiers: Yes, sir!
Later, on a stormy day in Rome...
Mussolini: Woah, look at the forecast!
Emmanuel: storm in Lazio Region, all day.
Ame: A spy in the Bolshevik's area has been detected.
Mussolini: Not a matter.
5:00
Emmanuel: Now it's a storm in Istrija, all day.
Mussolini: Not a matter. Besides, what is Istrija?
Here's a map.
1/3
Mussolini: Rain.
Emmanuel: Rain.
1/4
Mussolini: Nothing, it's fine weather here.
1/6
Mussolini: More rain.
Emmanuel: What's with this weather report?
Mussolini: Tutorial time!
Weather
The weather-torn Northern Europe
Partial Clouds
Rain
Snow
blizzard
Storm
Mussolini: These are clouds, Rain, Snow, and Blizzard, from left to right. You can tell which provinces they are in just by looking at the icon. Other data is displayed in a tooltip.
Let's continue!
1/11
Mussolini: OK, any reports?
Pariani: The Ethiopians attacked us in Serdo. That was foolish. Also, they have taken a part of Somalia and yet are going to munch around it.
1/13
Ame: Ah, another spy detected in Kwangsi?
Mussolini: Don't say it how the Brits say it! Say Guangxi.
1/14
Ciano: Just a whole bunch of trade agreements.
1/15
Italian navy builder: Our work on a new ship has...
Mussolini: Sure. Take it to Venice.
Returns to Rome...
Ciano: Yet more trade.
1/16
Ciano: Trade again. New Zealand is also drifting to the Allies.
1/17
Ciano: Yet MORE TRADE! Now why is this all commencing...
Mussolini: Yet another tutorial!!!!!
1/18
Mussolini: Never mind...
Ciano: Meh, trade.
Mussolini: And we conclude this with a map.

1/31
Emmanuel, Mussolini, and other council members: Thanks. Comments are appreciated, and read on to see how we deal with Ethiopia!(1)
Emmanuel: We also have the save here. Save
(Mussolini all of a sudden disappears. He reappears at Torino for the next cabinet meeting.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's notes
1. Map a little bit off. for the real map, download the save and push Ctrl+F12. Nothing much happened, other than a few battles and occupations.
Continuation (don't read this unless you are eager to see how we continue...
Emmanuel: Once this Darn-Munch on the south-Ethiopia is defeated, what will we do with them?
Mussolini: Puppet them.
Ciano: Why?
Mussolini: To show the Allies who we really are, rather than Pro-Axis and a traitor among the alliance.
Emmanuel: OK...
Mussolini: Then once we join the alliance, We will draw the US and other Commonwealth nations (other than New Zealand who is already aligning and SAF who is Influenced by snail-eating French); and maybe encourage other nations.
Pariani, Ciano, Emmanuel: Shhhhh! Don't let the French hear!

Pariani: Debre Markos is over? Never knew! Thought there was only Gaalkacyo.
Emmanuel: Wrong. Gaalkacyo was already over.

Ciano: What? First Gaalkacyo and now Garoowe.
Amè: Yeah, and look at our espionage!
Emmanuel: Don't worry. Compensation is that we are next to Adis Abeba. We have pl--

Emmanuel: (goes crazy and types energy and other codes 29 times) Umm... what is this result?
Mussolini: Wow.
