Diplomacy & Intelligence
"Thank you Hermann." Foreign Minister, Joachim von Ribbentrop.
"We are at War with most of the civilized world, such as Haiti, and even some parts of it that aren't civilized, such as Australia. Our Allies are few in comparison but they are mostly loyal. I have dispatched envoys to Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania informing them that due to certain problems, like sending us forces without officers, that they no longer need to worry about controlling their Military any longer."
"It may be possible for us to obtain further Allies but doing so could make things worse by extending our defensive lines. At this time I will make no overtures to Ally anyone else, which should annoy Franco, who seems to think he can make silly demands to join us because he thinks we are doomed. He didn't want to join us when we were winning but does now we are losing, we just got rid of one lunatic I don't think we need another. I have made some deals with several Nations sympathetic to our cause to try and alleviate our oil shortage."
"This cost us a lot of our energy and metal reserves but was necessary. I shall continue to acquire oil as and when I can. I will take a trip to Romania shortly and see what they want for their oil on a regular trade. As our forces are keeping the Bolsheviks out of Romania right now they should prove reasonable. Finland prefer to defend themselves and have been left in command of their troops. I have instructed our training departments to recruit less peasants to try and assist in upgrading our forces when the time comes. I will let my side kick in intelligence continue. Ernst."
"Thank you Joachim". Head of Intelligence, Ernst Kaltenbrunner.
"We have a few enemy spies in our ranks but nothing serious. Of a more serious note is our lack of spies within our enemies ranks. We only have a very rough idea of their force composition and current research goals."
"Our research is currently concentrated in industry. We must try and keep ahead of our enemies in key areas and so we are also researching better interceptors and tanks. I have briefly discussed infantry research with Heinz and we currently are in agreement that increasing the abilities of our infantry at this time would require several oil consuming items and so we will make do with our current division set up. Research will be conducted as follows."
"Our military spies are very efficient at this time and we are able to ascertain with a high degree of accuracy the forces directly facing us. This should aid in our defence somewhat. Our Allies are woefully behind in technology and will require a lot of assistance to catch up. Joachim knows what they need and will see to it that they get it, for a price I imagine."
"The Bulgarians seem to think having a large and modern Navy is the way to go, I don't have the heart to tell them that Great War ships aren't modern. They do have some troops that are useful to us so we can humour them a little. They do have some very pretty flying kites that Hermann has been eyeing up. I will now hand you over to Heinrich to tell us about Security."
"Thank you Ernst." Minister of Security, Heinrich Himmler.
"We will continue to bribe the populous in our extended homeland to work very hard in our cause. Albert informs me that the production they provide is critical at this time. The French peasantry is getting a little emboldened by the landing of Americans on their soil and will require some garrison forces when time permits. Nothing else to report. I would like to have a Field command and join in at some point though Heinz."
"Not going to happen as long as my ass points downwards Heinrich." Guderian replies.
