I got the "Please install latest milestone" error when I tried to start it up.
I got same problem when installed it first time. This is what I did to install it correctly without errors:
  1. Make a fresh clean install of HoI Armageddon 1.1
  2. Download Cold War mod Alpha archive
  3. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\ai folder then copy \ai folder from archive
  4. Copy files from \config folder included in archive to 'Your HoI folder'\config, answer 'Yes' in all dialogs(WARNING do not delete \config folder!)
  5. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\scenarios and copy folder from archive
  6. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\db\events
  7. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\db\ministers
  8. Copy \db folder folder from archive to your HoI folder, answer 'Yes' in all dialogs
  9. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\gfx\events_pics folder
  10. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\gfx\interface\models folder
  11. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\gfx\interface\pics folder
  12. Copy folder gfx included in archive to your HoI folder, answer 'Yes' in all dialogs
  13. Copy \map folder from archive to 'Your HoI folder'\, answer 'Yes' in all dialogs
  14. Delete 'Your HoI folder'\music folder, copy \music folder from archive to your HoI folder
  15. Apply the included no time limit patch
  16. Enjoy!
Hope this helps. :)

Something I noticed: Austrian Occupation Zones are slightly wrong in the east, Vienna and Bürgenland (don't know what it's called in HOI2, it's the most southeastern province of Austria though) was in reallife part of the Soviet Zone.

You are doing a work that dozens of mods have failed to, remember that and be proud, and don't give this up, no HOI2-mod about the Cold War (unless you count Fatherlands as the Cold War) I know of have ever got this far. This mod can easily become one of my favourites along with Kaiserreich.

If you could upload it to a second place also it would be nice (not requesting that for myself though, as i've already downloaded it a few minutes ago). So that others can download this and the Soviet Editiona at once instead of waiting half an hour as I now have to.

Ok, I got it to work.

I've noticed some issues.

- PRK is Market Liberal, which causes it to leave the alliance with PRC soon after the game begins.
- I know this falls under the "semi-completed" area of the tech tree, but there are certain areas of the tech tree that I can't even start. I can't research WW2 aircraft, for instance.

Also, are the acronyms really necessary? I'm relatively certain you can fit "Republic of Korea," "People's Republic of Korea," (you might have to put that instead, since I don't think "Democratic People's Republic of China" will fit) "Republic of China," "People's Republic of China," "Federal Republic of Germany" and "German Democratic Republic" into the space alloted.

I hope we won't let down your expectations. :)

I'll upload Soviet Edition Sub Mod to a second place ASAP.

Also, the Asian Communists points screen image need to be fixed. Leaving the USSR's as the Warsaw Pact and US/UK/France as NATO is fine, but the Asian Communists image is still Nazi Germany/ISR/Japan.

A little more thing i'd like to suggest. There was actually a pretty unknown medium-scale partisan-war going on in Balticum, Belarus, Ukraine and other non-russian areas til the mid and end 50ies. Maybe you could simulate that by lack of cores or/and dissent/events. But of course you may have more important things to work at right now, but you might already know this at least partially since Balticum doesn't seem to be Soviet cores in the mod.

Other stuff:

- A lot of countries' flags don't match their shields.
- Having two different pictures for Ho Chi Minh seems kinds strange. Was this intentional?
- I was quite pleasantly surprised to hear Fortunate Son start playing as the game loaded. Great choice.

Yes i know about that and i had it fixed. However when my computer burned i lost that change and i forgot to implement it again.

About tech tree things ask Foxbat, he is the chief of that section of the game.

Ok, I checked all of the full names I suggested, and "Democratic People's Republic of Korea" fits without a problem. The acronyms are unnecessary.

Yes there's room left to write the full name of the country, but if you write without acronyms then the names appears superimposed in the country selection screen, and that is rather... ugly.

Perhaps it could be done with partisan revolts in some provinces of those areas.

Well, according to this map:

Austria_1945-55.png

I decided to give Vienna to U.K. with the purpose of maintain somehow the forms of the map. But yes perhaps the best option would be to give Vienna to USSR because the Soviets occupied almost the half of the country.

Any chance that you can use the edited Sexxicolors mod instead of the standard SC? I've grown somewhat attached to green Canada.

Is there more than one sexxicolors? It's the first notice that i have about them.

Excellent u made some progress congrats.

Thanks!! Could we use some of your "researched" parts of the mod like tech teams and others like that?

Like the first answer, consecuences of the burnt of my computer.

Kevin W. said:

Yes it is intentional because in World Political Leaders they give two different photos for a HOS Ho Chi Min and a HOG Ho Chi Min, and i thought that it would add more variety rather than having the same face twice.

Yes... the Credence.... are the Credence.

Ok i have uploaded it to Savefile and to Megaupload.

It's simple, to research WW2 Air Superiority fighter, you need WW2 Air industry to be researched, which requires 40's Synthetic Materials, 40's Metallurgy, 40's Military Industry and 40's Electronics. These techs require Industrial econmy tech. As I said, simple :) .
Seriously though, I'll do "Cold War tech tree for dummies" when it will be at least half way done.

Hey the first one who tells me how to fix the damned UNKNOWN STRING WANTED problem with some country names will get one free internet!!! :D *

*Now seriously, anyone knows why this happens?

I have done an update with some events for 1955 and some hotfixes, check the first thread for the download link or, if you are too lazy, click below:
http://rapidshare.com/files/60951677/1st_Update_V0.1.2.rar.html

Please note that it does not have the soviet models made by Foxbat.

Install it simply extracting the archive into your cold war mod folder. (and overwriting every file of course).
