This mod changes the counters and unit icons to symbols based on the ones used by the German military in WWII. I strayed a bit here and there for playability reasons and because the game differentiates between units a bit differently. I also changed the counters to use the air insignia rather than the national flags. I quite like the look but Paradox apparently didn't complete the air insignia for all countries, most notably Denmark.

This is not a mod for those who prefer pretty pictures of infantry and tanks. Some of the symbols, notably airforces, are quite different from what most people may be used to. I still have a bit of work to do, most notably on the naval units. I'm not sure how I want to do them yet. If there is enough interest, I'll release it when it is completed.

im really interested in your mod.. seems much "cleaner" then those standard icons..
keep on your good work...

Wow that actually looks prett sharp. Certainly better than the vanilla stuff, keep it up :)

Nice, but where did you find that tactical symbols?
I'm looking for WW2 german tac symbs quite a while now, but everything I find is either landforces only (no airforce, navy) or modern Bundeswehr/NATO symbols :-/

If you could provide a complete overview, that would be very nice :)

So, when can we expect to get the completed thing? :)

I'm quite curious how you'll "translate" units, since the unit types of the game and that of the "real" Wehrmacht don't fit very well, especially when talking about the Air Forces (escort fighters, fighers and interceptors -> all Jagdgeschwader .. strategic, tactical, naval bombers -> all Kampfgeschwader .. CAS -> either Sturzkampfgeschwader or Schlachtgeschwader .. and so on).

Btw if you need any help, let me know, I'd be glad to assist ;)

Reminds me of one of my favorite 'old school' table-top wargames - Avalon Hill's monster "The Longest Day".

Very Nice!
