The title of the expansion also makes me wonder whether we will see any improvements to air combat and the Battle of Britain. Considering that previous expansions weren't really focused on the Pacific War or Barbarossa, it seems unlikely, but...

In one of the screenshots Nationalist China has half of Gangxi Clique (however it's spelled) annexed, is this a new event or balancing? Btw can't wait

New map, see the 3.06 beta patch

I have a few questions that don't appear to have been covered yet:

1. Will The Finest Hour be tested against the Windows 8 RC, and if so, will you be supporting only legacy mode or do you plan to look at running under the Metro UI?

2. Can you compile the executive file to enable 4GB memory addressing? The current 2GB addressing limit is causing problems for running some mods with 64-bit Windows systems, and patching the .exe is necessary to get around the HOI3.exe limits to ensure a stable game.

3. Is there any possibility of introducing (convoy) escort techs, to allow for improved escort models along historical lines rather the current generic system?

Please fix the day/night indicator on the minimap (if it hasn't already been planned for 3.06).

Looking forward to the Dev. Diaries.

you don't have to post this 30 times.
btw, you know that you would need 365 different indicators and it would still not match the map? it would be necessary to calculate the daytime for every province. some things aren't worth the effort...

Some interesting additions, I look forward to the development diaries. Adding the ability for leaders to gain traits is much appreciated!

I'm posting because I haven't had a reply either way. Either just use a straight line (fixed day and night with no seasonal adjustment), fix it or remove it. It worked in HOI2 so there's no reason it shouldn't work in HOI3.

And IMO it is worth the effort. For example if it has been done correctly, the night penalty for a mission in, say, Norway should be present at 8am in January but not in July. Planning a mission needs to take these things into account. And apart from that, visually it certainly looks incomplete.

Actually on second thought considering that Armored cars speed up units could you consider artillery/anti tank/ and AA slowing down units. This way motorized infantry can still travel faster with an artillery attachment than a non motorized infantry regiment.

Another suggestion I would like to make is for interceptors to have the ability to be upgraded to fighters and fighters to be upgraded to interceptors. Tactical bombers could be upgraded to NAV bombers and NAV bombers could be upgraded to Tactical Bombers. This way a player could have some more flexibility in the types of air units fielded without being forced to loose unit experience.

Released in the fall? sorry not being a American I don't know what months you are talking about. Can you please clarify.

our spring, so septembersih -> november

A Prisoner of War system would be good. Its unrealistic that if you have 200k encircled, they all "disappear" and you will never get them back. With a PoW system, if you beat a country you can recover most of your captured soldiers and reuse them to build back old brigades.

That would be the simple version of it. The more complex version would be that as you capture more PoW's, you can place working stations in provinces and they will give you extra IC to use until you lose those provinces. Maybe 10k or 20k PoW's per working station. There could also be PoW policies, the harsher the policy is, the more IC bonus you get but your PoW's may die at a faster rate and it would raise your belligerence level.

As a reminder, POWs, slave labor, the Holocaust, and other things of that nature will never be included in the game and it is against forum rules to discuss these things. This also includes military or quasi-military units involved in those activities. Those who are unfamiliar with the rules or who are unsure what is included in this policy are encouraged to reread the forum rules for this particular forum.

I love the title, precisely what I expected, I am a little underwhelmed by the features list, it seems to be more of a booster pack (just two battle scenario's for instance), and the separate national units like Gurkha and Waffen-SS were already included in a DLC and I do not see how this will be particularly different or better in that respect than the DLC. Nonetheless the Winter War battle scenario sounds interesting.

the secnarios and units are secondary, the abilirty to limit units to a % if the army = awesome, also its the new features, like plans of attack and the stuff done in diplomacy and intell thats got me excited

i saw this is leaving factions possible?

also can we revoke gaurrentes and kick people out of being a puppet or faction (if we are overlord/leader)

I'm ready for the pre-order, very cool news.

FTM 3.06 is one of the best patches Paradox has ever rolled out for Hoi 3. Please do not make this expansion another Semper Fi.

Will traits system be similar to that from Crusader Kings franchise? It would be awesome, really :D If you had an army with a leader traited as "coward", to see how it affects units morale etc etc.

Looking forward for this.
