Werewolf CLXII: 24/2 Angry Men

Annex%20-%20Fonda,%20Henry%20(12%20Angry%20Men)_01.jpg

They found the girl sobbing beside her mother, the knife still stood out of her back and the blood had hardly dried. She was still very young, one couldn't tell if she was over 18 or not.

The call to the police came from a hidden number, it was a voice claiming there was a strange noise on Grosvenor avenue 2nd floor, by the time they could inquire more the line was broken. After a bit of consideration they decided to investigate, regardless of if it was actually a prank call or not. It took approximately 30 minutes to get to the site as they decided to leave their sirens off, no need to alarm the whole naighborhood for a prank call.

On arriving at the scene, the house looked empty, there were no lights nor any movement inside and despite the knocks noone openned the door. Officer Tenpenny decided to check the backdoor, during his years at the force he unintentionally developed an instinct and could tell if there was trouble. As he anticipated the backdoor was indeed open and he could see bloodstaines on the floor.
Officer Tenpenny immediately called for reenforcements and the rest is just a recollection of memories. They pushed into the kitchen and went from room to room until the reached the bedroom and there she was. Gizelle, that was her name. She was sitting there beside her mother who lay in a pool of blood. At first noone thought of her as the person that committed the crime, however even after the shock she could still not give a clear explanations.
The facts were also against her. There was no sign of any intruders in the building, there were no signs of struggle, the knife had only Gizelle's fingerprints on it. It didn't take long and she was convicted for murder on a life long sentence

Four years had passed and the case was reignited. A completely similar case was found in the same neighborhood and a man was caught. On first interrogation he did confess on both killings but latter retracted his confession, claiming it was done under police pressure. However it was enough to reopen the case on Gizelle, and this time the lawyer did a good job.
He proved that the stabbing was done from an angle that couldn't have been Gizelle's as it was much higher up and done by left hand, while Gizelle was right handed. The fact that she was away the night before was also not counted and she was too scared back then to admit she did drugs, hence her memory loss. It was a good speach and it was plain for all to see that she was in fact innocent.

However it was up to the Jurors to decide on her fate. Not everyone amongst the jurors was a good person, many felt that she deserved to die for what she did. They were sexists who felt that such a murder could only be done by a woman. It was up to the Jury to decide, to vote and everyone had to be in alignment. The voting was anonymous.
They had to find the sexists and expell them from the Jury or the whole justice system could come crumbling down… It is up to them. It is up to YOU!

The Rules (admittedly stolen)

Werewolf is a game of paranoia, deception and betrayal. Hidden amongst the innocent, ignorant villagers are small Packs of Werewolves looking to eat them. The villagers outnumber the Werewolves, but they don't know who to trust. Meanwhile, the Werewolves know their fellow Pack members and can work together to even the odds. The Werewolves want to kill enough villagers so that they can reach parity and overthrow the village openly; the villagers want to destroy the Werewolf menace by uncovering their secret identities.

If that wasn't a dire enough situation for the village, even amongst the villagers there are Cultists looking to help their Werewolf masters and people Cursed to become Werewolves if attacked. Fortunately the village has the aid of the Seers, who can find the true allegiance of the villagers, and of the Doctors and Guardian Angels, who might be able to protect them. These players must hide their identity just as much as the Werewolves must, as they are the greatest threat to the forces of evil and will surely be killed if revealed.

It may seem like a simple Villager is powerless in this clash of good and evil, but they are not. Every day the village gets to choose one person to lynch, as punishment for the nightly murder. The village must vote to choose the person they think most likely to be responsible. With their vote, the Villager can reveal much about the motives of others. But they must be cunning, or more than a little lucky, if they are to survive.

Standard Big Rules

All roles will be handed out after the last person signs up, with all players receiving a PM containing their role and (known) traits. The game will then proceed to a night deadline.

The game is divided into two periods - night and day. For practical reasons these two periods are run concurrently, from one update till the next. Each update is 24 hours apart.

Each day, all players vote to lynch one of the players - the person they think is most likely to be a Werewolf or other baddie. Each night, the Werewolves decide who to kill. In each 24 hour period, the village will lynch, and the Werewolves will hunt. The villagers can try to lynch multiple people by creating a glorious tie, and the Werewolves can also decide not to hunt anyone at all at night.

Werewolves will be divided into one or more Packs, with one Pack hunting each night. The order the Packs hunt in will be known only to them.

The Werewolves and attached Cultists of a Pack win if they eliminate all rival Packs and, along with unattached Cultists, manage to reach parity with the rest of the village.
The Villagers, Seer, Guardian Angel and unclaimed Apprentices win if they manage to destroy all the Packs.
Claimed Apprentices win under the same conditions as their master.

§8F. - Votes not oversized or bolded shall be considered as an invalid vote.

§9. - The GM can and will remove players if the GM believes that player is adversely affecting the game, for example through failure to fulfill voting obligations or deliberate violation of the rules. This will be done through the use of killing the player's role, or using substitutes, if they are available. All such decisions are made solely at the discretion of the GM.

§10A. – Trust no one. Especially not the GM.
§10B. - Always Trust the GM.

Deadline

The deadline of this game is 21:00 GMT.
Votes and orders made on 20:59 will count, while those made on 21:00 WILL NOT.

The Roles

PLEASE REREAD THE ROLES AS THEY MAY DIFFER FROM YOUR USUAL ROLE

Except for Jury (Villager) and Sexist (Werewolf), all other Roles MAY, not will, be in the game

Jury (Villager): A person who may or may not be evil and may or may not contain some sort of superpowers. Can cast a vote during the day.

Sexist(Werewolf): A twisted mind, whose sole aim is to convict the innocent girl by gaining parity in the Jury. They achieve this by secretly getting rid of one person each night

Investigator(Seer): A mysterious man who has access to files of peoples past. He has the time to read through one file during the night. May scan once every night to see if a person is a Wolf or unclaimed Apprentice(will be claimed). All other roles will appear as Villager.

Male Chauvinist(Cultist): A man who believes men are all superior and would like convict the innocent girl. Chauvinists can be either attached or unnattached, if there are no sexists (wolves) left, they do not loose, but may turn to sexists

Undercover cop(Guardian Angel): The only one who brought a rifle with him, however that is not enough for everything. Although it is enough to ensure one individual can at least sleep safe at night. May choose to protect one person against Werewolf attack every night, but can't choose to protect the same person two nights in a row and can never protect themselves. Wins when all the Werewolves are eliminated.

Psychologist (Priest): Every night he sits down and picks a candidate and analysis that days reaction from the person. By doing so, he is able to tell if the person was a Male Chauvinist (Cultist), Investigator (seer) or Anti-feminist (sorcerer). Any other role will appear as a regular Villager. Wins when all the Werewolves are eliminated.

Anti-Feminist (Sorcerer): Born with similar skills as the Psychologist and can check for the Psychologist (Priest), Investigator (Seer), Male Chauvinist (Cultist) each night. All other roles will return as Villager. Wins with the Werewolves and counts for parity.

The Traits

A young Sexist (Wolf Cub): A young but tainted mind. If voted out, the sexists (wolves) go into a frenzy. They get two kills the following night of their pack hunt.

Detector (Monk): A man from the local police. If the votes are counted, the detector can present himself and use a lie detector on the victim, after which his identity will be revealed. If it is a sexist (werewolf) the victim dies, else the victim lives and the second in line is lynched. If it is a tie, the other participant(s) of the tie not tried by the lie detector will be lynched. Detectors can have one (or more) batteries to their lie detector. Cultists and sorcerers do not die from lie detector nor is their identity revealed. If cursed/blessed, the victim does not die, but the curse/blessing is revealed to the Detector (Monk).

Soul mates: Soul mates are citizens that know each other since childhood. They can't be sexists (werewolves), however they CAN be cursed.

Witness: The Witness may try to see the nightly Sexist (Werewolf) attack. Witness success rate increases by 10% each night (10% on Night 1, 20% on Night 2 etc). If successful, he learns the identity of one Sexists (Werewolf) in the pack that hunted that night. If no kill takes place, the ability is lost.

Old Man: An old man will die on night X, where X is the number of sexists (wolves) killed in the game plus four.

Royal: The royal has two votes when it comes to lynching. If he uses it, he is revealed. Royal's cannot be sexists (werewolves) from the start. 1 time trait.

Feminist (Werewolf Hunter): At night, the feminist can kill 1 single target. If he kills a villager he kills himself in grief, if he catches a sexist (werewolf) he becomes blessed. The hunt bypasses any protection.

Macho (Lycan): The macho is a villager who appears as a sexist (werewolf) if investigated, however he is not and counts for the goodies. This is not a hidden trait.

Damsel in Distress/Lovers: If this player is saved from lynch by a vote snipe (within two minutes of the deadline) or from hunt by an undercover cop then the saviour will be the Damsel's Knight in Shining Armor. The Damsel and the Knight be lovers and they have to survive together. If one dies the other dies too. If a sexist (werewolf) and a citizen are lovers, they have to kill the others to win (including wolf pack mates). Upon becoming lovers, both individuals will get a useful trait

Blessed: A blessed person will survive a single sexist (Werewolf) attack if no other protection is placed on them. The attacker will not know why the attack failed, nor will the victim be aware of his blessing.

weak willed (Cursed): If a weak willed person is successfully attacked by the sexists (Werewolves) they lose their existing role and instead become a sexist (Werewolf) of the pack that hunted them. The weak willed will be unaware of his affliction until successfully attacked by a Werewolf. Seers, Priests, Sorcerers and Guardian Angels cannot be cursed at game start.

Brutal: If lynched, has the power to immediately kill one person before being subdued. Even sexists (werewolves) can be brutals.

Spiritually attuned: A Spiritually Attuned person has a 100% chance to sense when someone is scanning them. They will have a 50% chance to learn the scanner role. If they succeed at identifying the scanner role, they have a 33% chance to learn the identity of the actual person.

Rivals: These players hate each other obsessively, and must do everything in their power to eliminate their rival. If they are both alive at the end of the game, they both lose, no matter which side wins, if their rival is killed, they will in turn win if alive at endgame, and their side wins. They will know the name of their rival from the start. There can be more than 1 rival for anyone at game start.

Priestly powers: Has a one time Priest scan that will show if the target is a Sorcerer, Cultist or Seer. All others will show up as villagers.

Seerish powers: Has a one time Seer scan that will show if the target is a Werewolf. All others will show up as villagers.

Sorcery powers: Has a one time Sorcerer scan that will show if the target is a Cultist, Seer or Priest. All others will show up as Villagers.

Telefon Junkie (Oracle): Has a one time possibility to speak with those no longer in the room (dead players). He can ask a single question to any player that is no longer in the game via PM. The player is obligated to respond however is NOT obligated to tell the truth. So asking a sexist who his mates are isn't the best idea. (Special rules apply: The question must be asked to the GM stating who the question is aimed at. The GM will then approve the question and forward to the recipient, whose response will then be forwarded on. The GM will not tinker with the response as long as it is a single question, to keep balance. Eg: asking a dead Seer who he scanned is a multiple question that will not be approved, asking the seer if he scanned XY is a valid question)

In as... Phyllis Schlafly. Yeah.

In

In as I am in your mother

In, as Gudrun Schywoman - staunch feminist, sober alcoholic, experienced cash burner and tax deductresse of the first order. Despite her impressive experience, the roles confuse her a bit. A male conspiracy, no doubt.

If you're a proper feminist, you'd know it's "womyn" not "woman"

Hm... Interesting. Was this inspired by the thread in the OT I was reading just seconds ago?

Anyway, thanks for reserving me a spot. I will indeed be in.

Also, can cultist switch packs or are they basically the same variant I used in the last game? Last thing, new convention is to use "assassin" instead of "hunter", so you can say "X shot/assassinated Y" and not have it look like a wolf attack...

I shall join as Adolf Al'Hillah, President for Life of the Nazionalislamismus Party which proudly has no women members whatsoever.

RPing as what basically is Adolf Hitler is something even Olaus wouldn't go for. You're brave, or something :p

This is also the second time Adolf Al'Hillah has appeared in a WW game. Clearly this proves that Nazis invented time travel!
