Haha, I bet those three battleships are nothing more than Coastal Defence Ships, thus in game terms puny level-1 ships. Even my old Reserve fleet can take on them!

But I know you are joking, Germany even has carriers now! My goal actually is to finish Sweden WITHOUT doing too much damage to their armed forces so they can defend themselves later if the need arises...
 
November 1, 1941

Less than 5 days later, most Swedish objective targets have been seized. The only one we had problems was Malmö, which is under attack by our Stukas as well, nevertheless the paratroopers there have had a hard time outdoing the city's defenses.

In that case, I guess you can't pay for it with HoI 3 money though :happy:
 
November 1-2, 1941

The battle of Malmö is ongoing, we have asked for the contribution of all the air carrier groups as well, now that the Swedish Navy has been already defeated. Our old Reserve fleet is shelling the city from ashore. The defenders have already run out supplies, crippling their ability to counter our assault.

The experience on the field has finally made the German Army being considered Veteran. Our dedication in technologies to wage effective and fast war together with armor are finally bearing fruits. Spearhead Doctrine is much loved in the OKW.

In the evening of November 2, 1941 we had news that the British had managed to rally the "free world" into creating the United Nations against us. Brazil has passed to the Allies. At least, Malmö would soon be ours. The shelling is atrocious for the defenders. Although our paratroopers are about to abandon their endeavor as well, the defenders are losing more organization than us... Our shock tactics work!

I'm taking a 'deserved' (at least that's what I think) vacation on Europe and the only place in Sweden I'm going is Malmö

And I'm not paying it at all, my folks gave me the money as gift for finally ending my studies and getting a degree in Chemical Engineering :p

Chemical engineering? I'm pretty sure you know how to manufacture gold, you just don't want to tell "us", the ordinary people :(
 
The Japanese, seeing our attempts to gain even more prestige in Europe decided to do the same for them. The time was right for a surprise attack on the USA. The Americans have been embargoing Japan for a long time now, hurting its prospects of growing. Japan has managed to defeat almost all of the Commonwealth adversaries, but taking on the juggernaut called USA will be a different story. The war is now global for good!

I might do that as well! maybe with a letter full of signatures from people who don't want the Division Commanders being removed

I'm not really in the process but that kind of alchemy is actually possible, but the costs would be much bigger than the profits (so you better start digging and try to find gold the old way :p)

People always could turn the auto-assign on. I'm currently woking (or rather trying to) on Czechoslovakian leaders and I definitely want them to be implemented in HoI IV! It's not like you couldn't beat the AI with militia anyway :p

November 6-10, 1941

After the fall of Malmö, 6000 men of 3rd Mountaineers Division are moving against Falun, the provisional capital of the Swedish government. We are not seeing any resistance along the way, the Swedish government has essentially fallen, ready to be substituted by our own candidates...

Meanwhile, do not think for a moment that the furious airfights over the airspace of England have stopped. We sometimes have to face interceptors from other nations that help the British such as these old Iraqi fighters trying to catch with our strategic bombers. The British industrial capacity has fallen below 200 and the resources choking is finally having its toll on them...

Some in the entourage of Hitler suggest that the time is right to attack Norway and seize its assets. They have been eluding us for some time now and they seem to "walk away" from the righteous national-socialist path... But why should we create extra threat to the world?

Finally, by 10th of November Sweden capitulates. We don't do many changes on top, but we demand a Swedish government that follows the instructions from Berlin... or else! The Swedish fold and accept.

We finally have enough tech experience for Integrated Support. I am very pleased at the state of the German R&D and applied uses. We need all the extra abilities of paratroopers and marines before the invasion on England!

With the US already at war, what damage can more threat do to you right now? Go on, puppet Norway (and all the others) :)
 
There are still many nations left that I would like to sphere. We still have many in South America (apart from Brazil which committed already to the Allies) as well as some in Asia (mainly Nationalist China, Afghanistan, and Tibet). I wanna play my cards in a conservative way: Norway is definitely not bugging me at the moment, I have the bases of Northern France, Spain, and Portugal to launch my submarines. And it is too early to really need the Heavy Water for the nuclear research.

I have two questions:

1) I have added the war goal to conquer Australia as it seems it will be falling soon thanks to the Japanese incursion. What will happen once it surrenders? Will it all go to be occupied by the primary nation of the coalition (Germany) or Japan will keep for itself what it has occupied already and Germany gets the rest?

2) In those war techs that add something applied to the HQ (for example HQ: Hard Attack for Integrated Support, above), does it mean that to get that extra you need to have your divisions in range with the Corps HQ? If all the chain is in radio range, up to the Theater HQ, does this bonus sum up or is it only once, for the first step?
 
nice update! and sadly I have no idea how will the game mechs react to the surrender event from Australia

Primarily, I think Japanese will get what they occupied. At second, they should get the rest as well, as they've captured the most VPs, thus the rest of the territory should go to them as well.

Adding "region" wargoals is a bit different story, as this one is above "conquer" in the priority of exectution, so this way, say, Axis-allied Luxemburg can gobble up a big portion of France, now matter how ridiculous that is ;)

Nope, these bonuses are independent on each other and they should work at all times, no matter what you do. And, of course, every single brigade will befefit from it, again, no matter what.

Regarding the (1), it is logical I think. Japan should get what it has conquered, not Germany that hasn't stepped in Australia. As for (2), do you mean every HQ Brigade or every single brigade in the army? Because I was thinking given the explanation it will either apply only for the HQs or the hierarchy under the HQs, if in range. It is a shame our previous coup did not work. The German-American Bund was going very strong, but it lost the elections to Roosevelt. For the moment the Americans are building a lot of Guard and Infantry divisions to use their manpower. And many ships to go against across the oceans, obviously.

November 10, 1940

Our spies give the Oberkommando some situational awareness regarding the USA. It seems that we are in deep trouble. We are having to deal with a country that is virtually self-sufficient in all resources and it sports a formidable industrial capacity, in position not only to supply itself with military equipment, but as well as offer much lend-lease to its allies. Hopefully, we intercept already a lot of their incoming convoys before they reach the British Isles. They also seem to be brewing "resistance cells" somewhere in occupied Europe or Asia.

Nonetheless, before this military might is put to motion, they need to protect their huge dispersed areas around the world. The Japanese have been fighting for almost 5 years by now and their amphibian/landing experience is high. Wake Island is doomed, who knows if the anchored ships will survive as well. The Zeros rule the skies!
