Then the vote to censure Comrade Rakobolskaja fails.

Comrade Yakushev, are you ready to begin voting on your technology plan? I believe it has been 24 hours. If you would, please distribute a second copy to the Politburo as well. ((Post it in thread again.))

Stalin

Comrades,

It is sad to see that the Politburo has failed to sanction this kind of negligence. Truth be told, Comrade Rakabolskaja most likely did not know she was doing anything wrong, but let's hope this decision won't provide leeway to more malevolent persons. If anything, I would like to say that I thank you all for carefully considering the matter.

Feodor looks at Konstantin Ivanovich Gey, who is confusedly muttering love songs and clearly having no idea what the entire discussion was about.

Now it is time to move on to daily business, and I hope this vote has achieved my goal anyway: To properly warn Comrade Rakabolskaja that the kind of mistakes she made could have been fatal to our Union. I also hope that Comrade Rakabolskaja forgives me for taking on this task.

Major General Feodor Vasilevich Sokolov

I vote Aye for the plan proposed by Comrade Yakushev.

V.M. Sakharov, NK Finance

You did intend to formally open up the vote, Comrade Yakushev? You copied over the "24 hours" portion of your previous memo.

((Admin hat on))

I goofed, partially, with the shierholzer censure, as Davout was kind enough to remind me. I should have waited until all 11 votes were in, to determine if it were Gen. Marshall who would get the censure. Since I didn't do it, it's my fault, and so no harm will come to anyone. (I would give myself censure, but I'm not sure how that would work. :p) In the future, I shall do better and make sure we wait for all votes to be in for such situations.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled technology vote, already in progress. :)

I thought I already voted Yes and do so now.

I would also abstain on the censure vote. I do not believe that "punishment" stiff enough to be effective.

I vote Aye on the technology plan.

((I haven't issued a protest, since I assumed son would also go for Aye - resulting in the inability to win by 2/3. Since he abstained, it's no for Sirk to decide if Marshall is to be censured or not (Aye has 3 votes: Sokolov, Yakushev, Glazkov | Nay has 6 votes: Rakobolskaja, Sakharov, Gey, Vatutin, Kamensky, Petrova | with Yagoda abstaining from vote, this means, that anything else than Sirk joining the Aye block, Marshall gets censured).))
((So I call for SirktheMonkey to leave a vote.))

EDIT: Of course Yakushev's technology plan get's my full approval.

Comrade Rakabolskaja,

Whether Comrade Teterev votes No or not, the vote has already been ended by the General Secretary. An unfortunate mistake from your point of view, sure, but just as you wanted to adhere to the rules when we were voting for your censure, so do I want to adhere to the rules at this point of time. The voting is closed, period.

Note that I actually had a reason to request your censure - your attempt to censure me unfortunately looks more like an attempt at revenge than a punishment for serious negligence. Also, I'm sure that some of the people who voted against the motion, just to keep order, would like to change their vote if my seniority and with it the stability of the Politburo were at stake.

Feodor V. Sokolov

Comrades, the General-Secretary has declared the vote closed and I shall keep out of the matter unless it is reopened. I will point out the following though. Those pressing the charges say that the fact it came to a vote is enough to remind Comrade Commissar Rakabolskaja to be observant and watchful in the conduct of her duties. On the other hand, I consider the fact that it came this close to a 2/3rd rejection is enough to remind Comrade Commissar Sokolov that he must be more judicious in the conduct of his duties. Also, a vote cast against from me at this moment could be construed as a bid to raise my relative seniority within the Political Bureau even though I have no such desires; I do not need seniority to conduct my work helping ensure the stability and purity of Correct Socialist Thought and my vote counts as much if I were to be the most junior member or the most senior.
I would remind everyone that our real enemies do not rest while we fight in this room. We must always work to ensure the defeat of the Hitlerites, the Capitalists, and, most importantly of all, the Trotskyites who would corrupt the Revolution from within. Now, I must return to reviewing the latest thought on the topic of dialectical and historical materialism.

Comrade Yakushev's plan is approved. Comrade Vatutin, do you have any changes to the deployment schedule or OOB? If not, events can proceed.

((If/when he posts the changes, I'll try to update. War is getting ever closer!))

((There are some flavour changes to be made and I have to work through the placement of new units but this can be done fairly quickly.

I do require clarifiaction from the NKVD whether the 4 Covert Operations divisions are to 4x (2 INF + MP) as passed or 2x (2INF + MP) and 2x (2 CAV + AC) as I offered after the proposal was passed. I will be using the spare garrison and cavalry divisions in Moskva.

Once I get a response, I can have the details up tonight (AEST).

I also agree with SirktheMonkey's position. Stalin has spoken, let the past bury the past and let us get on with the game.))
