Werewolf Lite CCXXXIX: Big Trouble in Little Paradise
For decades, the Most Serene Republic of Almeida has lived under the reign of Doge Agostino Carboni, President for Life of the small island republic, growing prosperous off the rich, underwater oil deposits found in Almeidan national waters, and a booming tourism industry. Most of the Republic's three-thousand citizens are experiencing better quality of living than ever before in the nation's two hundred year history of independence, and are more than content with their lot in life.
Despite this, Almeida is now a nation in crisis. After 35 years as leader, Carboni has died - in what some might call suspicious circumstances - with no appointed heir. A provisional government, composed of Carboni's top advisers and ministers, has declared a 7-day period of mourning, during which time they will deliberate over who shall succeed Carboni as Doge, but this provisional government is not nearly as united as the face they present to the people. Tensions are high, and the council chambers are filled with the sounds of bickering, as the more corrupt members of the administration plot to take power, and abuse the people and wealth of Almeida for their own personal gain.
Rules
There shall be no more than seventeen (17) players. Special roles will be handed out after the last person signs up or 3 days have passed, whichever happens first.
The game will then proceed to a Night deadline.
The game is divided into two periods - Night and Day. For practical purposes, the two periods take place simultaneously, from one update to the next, over a 24-hour period. Each day, all players gather and decide to lynch one of the players - the person they think is most likely to be a "werewolf". Each night, the "werewolves" decide who to kill. In each 24 hour period, the village will lynch, and the werewolves will hunt. The villagers can try to lynch multiple people by creating a glorious TIE, and the werewolves can decide not to hunt anyone at all during the night. Beware of making Crovaxian slips and giving away your identity!
Winning:
The werewolves win if they manage to reach parity with the villagers (i.e: there are as many wolves as there are villagers remaining).
The villagers win if they manage to kill all the werewolves.
Player Roles:
12x Provisional Ministers (Villagers): These are regular members of the Provisional Government, who have assigned themselves the role of choosing the next Doge of the Republic. Each day they will convene and "eliminate" other members of the assembly by collectively voting them off on suspicion of corruption, until they are satisfied that no further corrupt elements remain.
4x Corrupt Provisional Ministers (Werewolves): These are four members of the Provisional Government who wish to exploit the republics economy for their own benefit. To reach the Presidency, they are willing to blackmail and sabotage the other members of the Provisional Government, and each night will gather and present false evidence against another member of the Assembly in order to have them dismissed on suspicion of corruption.
1x Director of Intelligence (Seer): One of the members of the Provisional Government possesses the role of Director of Intelligence, a secret position bestowed upon him by the now-deceased President, granting him control over the Almeidan intelligence service. This allows him to, each night, run background checks on one (1) member of the Assembly, to discern whether they are corrupt, or innocent.
Roleplaying:
There is of course no need to roleplay, I simply ask that you choose sensible characters. A pet tyranid, for example, is not a sensible character, nor is a crab, a walrus, or an air stewardess.
The Deadline:
The deadline will be 10:00 GMT.
A vote posted at 09:59 will count. One posted at 10:00 will NOT.
Voting ends at deadline even if GM is not present.
