Hear, Hear!

A toast to the Empire of Britain! May she and Russia always be friends!

Oh, and vote to end build phase

This begs the question, what will happen to the Army in Sweden? Will it go to Denmark or Berlin? :(

Reis91 brings up a good point. We will discuss future actions of this army between ourselves and get back to you on it. I don't see what good a Russian army in Sweden can accomplish, as it will most likely be needed against the heathen Turks...

M. de M. in Paris

M. de Montluzin-Sauzay, formerly His Excellency the French Ambassador to the Court of the Great Qing, has returned to Paris to serve in the heart of the new Government. Rumors of political ambitions flutter around the seasoned diplomat, but few in the ministry expect him to take a prominent public role after his long absence from Parisian life.

His tour of the luminous Parisian social circuit has been cut short by the unprovoked British invasion of France and the Bretagne Occupation. M. de M. has been seen leaving the Palais de l'Élysée late many evenings.

When asked for a moment, he said:

"The 3rd Republic remains a beacon of liberty, equality, and fraternity around all the world. The tireless labor of Frenchmen everywhere on behalf of civilization has found its application in our recent projects to institute the principles of a free civilization on the invitation of the Spanish and Portuguese peoples.

As for reactionary foreign elements...they are the vestigial remnants of a dark and dying age. The peculiar English peccadillo...their unnatural attraction to their old cruel past has taken on an aggressive and barbaric mania. The Republican military will soundly beat this medieval fetish from their cow-madness infected skulls."

The diplomat punctiliously brushed pastry flakes from his mustache and took a sip of cafe au lait.

"Naturally, it is good to see that this affliction is not endemic among the Germanic language nations. I am pleased to see the rationalilty and magnanimity of the Kaiser und Kanzler's government in Berlin, and hope that their efforts to protect peace bear fruit. Naturally, we will be watching to ensure that the rights and liberties of our Walloon brothers are respected while the German army resides in Belgium."

When asked about the war between the Russian Tsar and the Ottoman Sultan or the the developing Mediterranean and Balkan situations, he politely demured:

"You might say that the Balkans is a powder-keg in a house on fire, that the Turk's Mediterranean fleet have ambitions beyond the Aegean, or that Tirol is a lovely place to go hiking in the spring...you might say all these things, but I couldn't possibly comment."
