Chapter Eighty
Caqueta converts – 30/09/1816
Peace with Bohemia – October 1816
Bohemia is reduced to OPM status.
Peace with Milan – November 1816
This is about as cheap a peace deal as Milan could get away with but it saves me a diplomat, which is what really matters.
Peace with the Ottoman Empire – November 1816
This deal reduces the Ottomans to a few provinces in Anatolia, Greece and the Southern Balkans.
Days later
Iroquois declares war on Gondwana, who are still guaranteed by the Timurids.
This picture shows why I’m not really talking about the wars, 1.3 million against 5000, they’re hardly Spartans.
Peace with the Golden Horde – 1st December 1816
This is another poor peace deal. However,
Solikamsk is gained; one more game goal achieved not too many more to worry about but still too many to be achieved.
All is not lost as…
1st December
Iroquois declares war on Ryazan, a Horde vassal. The Horde honours the call the very next day.
February 1817 sees Iroquois declare war on Travancore, a two province minor in Southern India. This is just mopping up, once I’ve overran them they’ll hand over one of their provinces, all their cores and as much cash as they can scrape together.
April 1817 – I accept a peace offer from Mainz of cores and cash – I simply don’t have enough diplomats to annex all the remaining OPMs. A few days later I accept an offer from Travancore for their non capital province.
Iroquois declares war on the Pope – May 1817
Guaranteed by Milan the Papacy is a useful target for grabbing more of Italy. While I’ve generally given up on annexing the minors I will make an exception for Rome.
St Thomas converts – 26th May 1817
Missionaries are still being sent even though my Diplomat Stadtholder is hopeless for conversions (Admin 3).
10th June 1817 Yemen send Iroquois a warning. What? Yemen has neighboured Iroquois for decades and now decides to warn us, bizarre. They are guaranteed by the Ottomans which for various reasons has been the cause of their survival.
Peace with the Golden Horde – August 1817
This reduces Ryazan to an OPM in the event that the Horde doesn’t annex its vassal. I now also have access to the last uncolonised province. The Horde is three possibly four wars from annexation, I can use their guarantee on Tver and I suspect that they’ll be the faction I blow my stability on breaking a truce as they are guaranteed by the Timurids who are one more war after this one from OPM status.
War with Bosnia - October 1817
Bosnia’s Ottoman overlord honours its commitment to its vassal and Yemen joins in as expected. It was at this point I realised that the troops bordering Yemen were actually a rebel control force from the Horn of Africa and might just struggle a bit as the regiments are Line Infantry, obsolete for generations.
Peace with the Papacy – January 1818
The Conquest of Rome – 1st February 1818
Currently I am at war with:
- Milan – 100% Occupied
- Timurid Empire and Gondwana – 100% Occupied
- Ottoman Empire, Bosnia and Yemen – There are two Ottoman provinces left to fall; both are under siege with assaults due to start this very day
