@Hiro__
Thank you. Concerning your first question, this update has three principal parts. A China update, which is an attempt to streamline Chinese content. A Cold War update, which is an attempt to tie up various flashpoint/crisis chain in one system. And a Domestic/Generic update, which is an overhaul of policy sliders and generic events/decisions available to all countries.
As for the foreseeable future of UN nations content: I personally don't have all that many ideas on what can be done with them outside their participation in various international diplomacy chains setting the table for WW3. I have a feeling I'm not alone in this. If you look up what Paradox has cooked up for the Allies in HoI4, most of the content revolves around one thousand and one ways to turn them into something else - be it a communist, fascist, royalist, rebel, Mr. Hilter-led or some other kind of dictatorship. Even in DH Kaiserreich, democratic US content feels like an afterthought.
I suspect it has something to do with the fact that not even HoI4 has much to offer in terms of democratic gameplay, whereas expansion-oriented dictatorships are much more up Hearts of Iron alley regardless which game it is.
It's a shame you have deleted Japanese files. My personal problem with Japan - outside of RL constraints which are true for any mod updates - is that I have no insight in Japanese life of post-war era. Most of the Soviet content has some rooting in overall RL issues and policies advocated by respective leaders. CHI/KMT anti-corruption chain is rooted in a report on WW2-era internal KMT politics about who was hooked up with whom. It's much easier to write events and chains when you have a rough sense of the subject.
