To me the HOI series was just a combat game, outside of combat it was very bland. As a result the game only entertains me if I constantly fighting, going for a WC in every game. You even see this in the post WW2 era of the game, it has a WW3 by design because its only fun if you are at war.

I WAS hoping for a HOI+Vicky combined game with the features of both in whatever kind of modern timeline. That way there is something to do outside of war and the game isn't nearly as boring as it would end up being in its usual downtime before WW2 or for nations that are not a major player or for the post-war period.

I hope they improve HOI greatly. This was the first Paradox game I played, i put endless hours into and enjoyed it immensely, but after playing the others I demand more than just fighting.
