Flag changing would be good. That way we can have the correct flag for Germany while allowing different flags for other governments.

Flag-changing ftw!!!

It would be interesting to combine the flagchange command with sudden changes/coups in government, without having to change the actual nation itself...

I would like to place my support for flag changing too

That was a feature of victoria I always thought was quite interesting, and would love to see it in HOI3

Events, events, events! Lots of events please!

Yeah, sure. I was plaing Poland in 1936 campaign. I have built strong defense line and Germany didn't take Warsaw. Because of Soviet Union didn't attack me from behind (even though all my troops was at wester border) and France and GB never attacked Germany. Results - WWII never happened.

Now tell me - how historical is that?

Russia should attack Poland, Germany and Russia should crush Poland together (if Germany is not strong enough to do it alone) and in the end there should be WWII but it's not possible with your events.

No events please, make it historical by improving AI behaviour (especially by giving different objectives to different countries) - I think that will fit :)

yeah, that is true.

95% like hoi2...

some may have not exatcly 100% fixed days, some may be changed into historical decisions..

but yeah... historical events as you know it from eu2/hoi2/vicky will be in it.
hopefully there will not be no "Meteor sighted" event :eek:o

But otherwise this is looking up to be awesome

Churchill stared out of his window on 31st August 1939, and yelled to the commons "A Meteor! It is a omen I tell you! A omen of things to come!"

The day after, Germany invaded Poland.

OMG is that true? :(

Historical events are good, as long as they don't get too much in the way of ahistorical situations. I'd really hate to see the Sudeten event firing if Germany is Socialist or Czechoslovakia a member of the Axis, for example.

WWII is all well and good, but if the only choice we had in playing HoI3 would be to replay the war exactly as it happened, the game would get pretty boring soon.

Yeah, exactly - a much more complex trigger system is needed, and would make for some far more "accurate" wars, depending if certain nations met certain requirements.

Agreed.

I join my voice to the ones wanting the flag-changing command. It was a very cool feature of Victoria/EU2, and would allow more flexibilit (for exemple, after the war when Italy becomes a republic they don't keep the flag with the arms of Savoy on it).

I've played HoI2 probably around a hundred times, and it still isn't boring. Even with historical events there's no way you'll play the same war over and over again.
But if I played as Britain in HoI3 only to see Hitler invading Poland, and then going on the defensive, thus completely changing the flow of WW2, I'd be mightily pissed. That's not WW2 anymore then. Even as a fan of historical determinism, I often start ahistorical wars in Vicky or EU2. But I wouldn't want to play some kind of fictional war that just happens to start in 1939 (or not even then).
Some more flexibility would be great, such as you mentioned above, But I wouldn't want people to get strange ideas and start demanding a completely randomized WW2.

Indeed no point doing a World War II game without World War II

Why?

There could be very interesting "option" that Nazis didn't take advantage, and for example II WS is beginning from Communist. And so...

There is a lot interesting abilities in this days (I mean first half of XX century).
