The history of Edessa during this period is a bit murky, but we know that it wasn't lost until at least the 1080s, and was part of the realm of Philaretos Brachamios when he ruled his autonomous Duchy from Antioch, so we know that the Seljuks didn't yet have control of the city.
That Wikipedia page you linked literally says the Byzantines took control of the city in 1033.Thats not correct at all. Edessa was ruled by the Marwanids since 1026 up until 1085 when they were exiled by Sultan Malik Shah. Marwanids
However, the Marwanids did side with the Byzantines against the Turks during their great migration but that doesn’t amount to full de facto control. The Kurds originally took the city from the Byzantines, a year after Basil’s death.
Got to love DOAKS but PBW offers even more! Well not much in his case but in general. That Wikipedia page you linked literally says the Byzantines took control of the city in 1033.
The Byzantines never owned the city in centuries before the Byzantine General George Maniakes had the city surrendered to him in a secret deal by the Turkish Governor Sulayman in 1031.
We also literally have the Byzantine governors seal of Edessa for 1066 let alone the fact Byzantine and Muslim sources record its control by them at this time.

Infact historians know every Byzantine governor that controlled the city until its capture by the Seljuks in 1087.
