One piracy-proof strat is to have VERY FEW systems, have a trade citadel in your capital, fill it with trade hubs, and NEVER build the hub anywhere else as that would break the routing.

- The distance
- The infrastructure (hyper relay, gateway, etc)
- piracy
- diminishing return with several routes on the same planet with less trade value.
